Powerful, well designed and easy to fit
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Versatile
"I have had this little light for over a 12 month. It has proved an excellent purchase. It produces a powerful white beam of light which can be dipped and will run for several hours on one charge. Alternatively you can switch to the 'flashing mode' which is an equally bright pulsing beam of light which takes many hours to dischage the battery. The recharge process is quick and easy. I use it in daytime conditions and I have noticed how much more quickly motorists are aware of my presence. As a consequence I feel much more secure when approaching junctions."

Sparkling Buy
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
"Dead easy to fit, looking good and plenty of sparkle for my commuting needs. Quality build with rubberised detailing; it looks as though it will survive the elements for years to come. You can see the status of the light from behind through the side lugs and they flash red when the unit requires a top-up, which is a really useful feature.
The charger cable plugs directly into the underside of the lamp - so no fiddling about with batteries - and I like that it's like a laptop power pack with charge indicator and its own separate power cable, rather than those modular 3-pin blocks that plug directly into the wall socket. One thing - ignore the green charge lamp on the initial charge straight from the box and give it a full 5-hour zap.
Excellent bit of kit."

Good light but problem removing from bracket
Pros: Great Value
Cons: Unadjustable
"The light itself is very good, however I can't remove the light from the bracket, which is a major problem as the light needs removing for recharging"

Very handy rechargable light
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight, Versatile
"There may be other lights out there that produce more light but they also tend to require big, heavy battery packs.
This is quite compact and light for the light it produces and being rechargable makes it really easy to use. Simply unclip from the bars at night and plug onto the charger and your ready again next morning."

Bright
Pros: Great Value, Adjustable, Versatile
"Nice bright light. Wide enough angle to see in front of you. Could be a little wider at the sides but still good for the money."

Great front light
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
"I have two of them on my bike. I generally have to charge them about every 3-5 days. They're bright, easily adjustable, and easy to remove when the bike is parked in public."

Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable
"I purchased this light to help on my winter commute. I travel 1 hour to work down dark country lanes and it has been really good. Looks good on the bike too. Bit stiff to take off would be the only negative and the charger is a bit bulky."

Do away with batteries
Cons: Expensive
"This is a great rechargable front light. It's perfect for the early morning starts or late night road ride. The clamp means it is easily transferable from bike to bike. It would not be suitable for off road but otherwise a solid choice."

Good for commuting
Pros: Durable, Rugged, Lightweight
"I use this for my commute to the train station down a country lane that is dark in Winter. When fully charged it produces a good amount of light, certainly enough to see and be seen by. Don't need another front light. Make sure that you charge it though when the indicator light comes on though as it does dim a bit after that. The battery holds enough charge for me to use it for 2-3 weeks between charges."

Decent enough light
Pros: Durable, Rugged, Adjustable
"This is a fairly decent light. it's not going to light up trails or give great visibility on unlit roads in the dark, but it does a half decent job in twilight. The light is bright enough to enable you to be seen though, which is almost as important."

Okay if your commute is half a mile
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: poor battery life
"A friend an I just both happened to have this same light. We have both found the same problem: It doesn't last nearly long enough. Recently we were both caught out on a very busy road at night with a dead front light. I had charged mine and put it in a cupboard for a couple of weeks before use. The result was no power whatsoever when it was needed. I was again caught out 40 miles into a 60 mile cycle.
On the plus side, for the few minutes it actually emits light, it is very bright. It is also compact and lightweight. For a commute though, I'd have to have a charger at home and another at work!!"

Safer night riding
Pros: Adjustable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I ride along a dark canal tow-path for much of my ride home, then in thick traffic for the final two miles. With this light I can see every obstacle beside the canal and avoid the few pedestrians who venture out in dark clothing. Back on the road I switch the light to flashing mode and even the most myopic car drivers give me a wide berth... No bulky batteries, it's a very compact unit. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but safety at night is worth a lot."

Nice light and price, shame about weak bracket
Pros: Great Value
Cons: Poor Quality
"I have bought and used two Cateye EL600 Single Shots as night and also day lights for daily commuting.
I rate the light's performance - especially given th eprice - but one of them has sheered the light units bracket on the underside, rendering it useless for anything other than a family pocket torch.
To be fair, this happened after a year of use, and I didn't attempt to exhange it as I didn't have the receipt and was dubious that a bank statement would suffice for a product over a year old.
So, watch out for the bracket. You have been warned."

Excellent Light.
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
"Having used this light twice on very early morning rides,I have found this light shows up the road very well, and is very safe, but it`s value to me is that I can be seen klms. away ( in flashing mode). It`s very reassuring to know you are seen out on the road."

Just what I wanted.
Pros: Attractive, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
"The right size, weight and light output. Got fed up with changing batteries so bought this. Well made with a good bracket and easy to operate with gloves on. Haven't had it long enough to assess how long each charge lasts but seems to last well on flashing mode so far. Very bright blue white light is perfect for being noticed and the steady high beam is good enough for dark cycleways. I wouldn't want to rely solely on it for night use off road though."

good commuting light
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"with every catseye product you get what you pay for. and this light is no exception , if you need a light thats for commuting around town it is ideal. Good battery life when trickle charged overnight. I have two on my bars for the really dark parts of my journey to and from work, and when in town i have one on flash mode which woks well."

Good but not as good as I hoped...
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: not bright enough for unlit roads
"I bought this light on the basis of the test images that were included on the website a while back. This light appeared to throw a really good and wide beam on radk roads, and because some of my commute involves unlit sections of road, i needed something that would allow me to see, as well as being seen. And i couldnt afford to throw £200+ on a light. So I opted for this.
Firstly, the actual quality is spot on. It feels solid, rugged, weighty without being heavy. And the settings are excellent- a sort of full beam, then a less bright "dipped" mode, and then a flash mode. Full beam eats up the power, the others less so. But a full charge leaves me confident of a full weeks worth of commuting, especially if I "dip" the main beam. And the bracket has, thus far, been excellent- simply attach it, tighten it up, and leave it. The light clips on and off as and when you want to use it. Ok, it looks a bit on the hefty side, but I didnt buy it to bling my bike up, I bought it to see with. And this is where the problem lies- it just isn't as bright as the images suggested it would be. Maybe I was guilty of overestimating the power of a sub £100 light, but this is the only disappointment, however it is to me a substantial one given the routes I ride when commuting. It's plenty good enough for the cost, but if you really want lights that allow you to see on those dark unlit roads to the extent that you feel you can ride safely without having to worry baout not seeing something in front ofyou before it's too late, , it might be worth splashing the cash for something pricier...

Bright - but not clever
Pros: Durable, bright
Cons: difficult to fit lamp to bracket, iffy battery?
"This is a bright light which certainly gets you noticed and makes you feel safer when riding in towns at night. The bracket is easy to fit and easily adjustable. There are some downsides: there isn't a really audible clunk to let you know when the light is correctly seated, and once when riding down a bumpy hill the light fell out as I hadn't quite pushed it in hard enough. Fortunately it survived, so extra points for durability! The light is also pretty stiff to remove from the bracket, and doesn't seem to be loosening up much with time (I've had it about a month). My other gripe relates to the battery, which is not of huge capacity. For reasons that aren't entirely clear, if the battery is below a certain level of charge the light simply won't switch on. This happened to me once when it had been charged 2 days previously and used for less than an hour in flashing mode. Fortunately I had a backup light with me and would urge potential buyers to do the same."
