Excellent Training Wheels
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Great Value
"Purchased these wheels as training wheels as my local area has some very sub standard roads. These wheels are very robust and have withstood some reasonably hard knocks (potholes etc). For the price these are highly recommended. They look great too."

BOMBPROOF WHEELSET
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: not the lightest
"This wheelset came with my Felt F4SL and have cycled 50kms on the first day of getting the bike and 90kms today, cycled over some pretty dodgey roads and these wheels have taken the potholes and bad road surfaces in their stride or roll should i say, they are a great looking wheelset to but not the lightest they are good once you get them rolling just takes abit of effort to get them going, the Aksiums make for a great entry level Race/Training wheel and you will not be dis-appointed in buying them. :]"

Maybe bought a duff set ???
Pros: reasonably lightweight, decent price
Cons: Poor Quality
"Bought these in October 2008 at an excellent Wiggle price of just over £130 - reviews have tended to be very positive however in use I have been very dissappointed. I was looking for a set of robust wheels to fit to my winter trainer / commuter but these just don't seem to be what I was hoping for.
Weight is OK for the price and that was not my primary consideration anyway, but this set have had to be trued up 3 times since I fitted them which is a pretty poor show. I've got Ksyrium Elites on my best bike, and they have given me 3 years of trouble free riding, but the Aksiums have let me down.
As well as the truing up, spokes and nipples are suffering from the effects of winter riding with some evidence of corrosion already. All in all I wish I'd shelled out another £30 and bought Fulcrum 5s at the time"

Decent Training Wheels
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
"Bought these as a set of economic training wheels, as the state of some of the roads here tend to damage lighter wheels. Reasonably solid depite only having pinned joins. They are not super light, but once wound up its pretty easy to maintain a decent pace. Good for climbing training in that any race wheel will instantly feel lighter...isn't that what training is meant to be for?"

Pros: Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, sexy
"standard alex wheel's (giant scr)...broke them..loose spoke's kept goin out of true.
Shimano Tiagra Wheel's...broke them...broken and loose spoke's went out of true every ride!!!
Hand built 105hub open sport...ok but felt heavy creaky spokes and occasionally out of true...
Then I bought some lovely SILVER Aksium's(silver looks best)
light, fast, look great, perfectly true never touched them with a spoke key in over a year, stiff, smooth, used all winter and summer with no problem's....need i babble on anymore....
If you want a great set of training or racing wheel's and you've got about 150 to spend...there really is no other option.

Pros: fast for a value wheel
Cons: easily broken
"I know these wheels are generally considered to be fantastic value, but I'm firmly in the anti-aksium camp. I had one back wheel replaced when the peice that retains the spoke at the hub broke. A few months later exactly the same thing happened to the back wheel.
I'm no Bradley Wiggins but I'm not that heavy either so this is a pretty poor show.
In fairness they did ride really nicely when they weren't broken. They transformed the ride on my entry level bike. If Mavic have sorted out the flimsy hub, later models might be worth a look for some extra zip.

Hardwearing
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged
"I've got the 2008 version on my commuter bike, and they've stood up to everything thats been given to them. They are still going strong were other wheels have buckled or the rim walls have got too thin.
Good value for money, at just above entry level cost.
Hoping to get another winter out of them."

Cracking performance for the price
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"Got these on my winter bike and they are fantastic. They have taken a hammering over the terrible roads of South Wales but just keep performing. Would be very difficult to find a better performing, more robust set of wheels for the price.
Excellent product suitable for all levels of cyclists."

Great value for money!
Pros: Durable, Great Value
"It seems fair to say that this wheelset is great value for money! They also do not cause significant problems for heavier riders. A great training wheelset or for people with light budgets."

Great Value for money
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: none really
"These wheels are perfect for someone my size, doing masters racing. I use them for training.
They weight a little more than my earlier model elite wheels at a fraction over half of the cost.

Solid Basic Wheelset
Pros: Good Fit, Rugged
"Never going to set the world alight, but a fairly robust, smooth/free running wheelset. Pay slightly for the Mavic name - but all in all, a good replacement commuting wheelset. Wiggle was efficient in both process and delivery."

excellent buy
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"bought earlier this year 2009 model very good for price paid, spoke came loose once but otherwise excellent.will use this pair through this season and winter then buy another pair next season.
Bearings are excellent quality. Like the groove on the rim which shows wear.
Av ery good pair of training wheels if you do not have a load of cash to splash but also wish to have a descent pair of racing wheels as well.
