Good value HRM.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"A good purchase this monitor has all the functions I need, average HR, maximum HR, and time in zone, plus recovery mode which I haven't used yet. Would like a bracket to fit to handlebars."

Simple, basic moitor
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, Adjustable
"This is my first ever heart monitor. It's fairly basic in its functions, but it works perfectly well when cycling, and doubles as watch at other times. I'm happy with this purchase."

Back to my childhood
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight
"My first watch in the 1960s was a Timex and was surprised to see the brand still in existence. They are not sexy like some other names but the reviews are good and nostalgia and price kicked in so bought it. Very happy with it. The chest strap sensor does need to be moist to send the signal (the snow came in handy there), other than that it does what it promises. Only had it 2 weeks so can't vouch for longevity."

Simple, inexpensive and it works
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, Lightweight
Cons: find your own handlebar mount.
"Have needed a replacement monitor for ages, and had been looking at a Polar, which are excellent, but you pay for it.. this Timex has all the basic functions I require, target zones, a audible alarm and such. A interesting point, is that the watch aspect of the monitor came set to my time and date in Queensland, Australia, how'd they do that??
So, operation is one button, after you set your zones, strap the unit one, no need for gel or such, push off, press the button and go.. easy peasy..
The unit is accurate, solid and light, and best of all, it works..

Excellent entry level HR monitor
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Only four stars as there are much more sophisticated models out there, however comparing it to my old Cardiosport wich I have had for many years, it is much superior. You can set the zone you want to train in and it will record the time spent in that zone, ave HR, max HR, calories used. Has a night light and also a wrist watch. Strap is a good fit and there's pad supplied to allow you to fit it to your H/bars. In my view top value for around £40. If you just want a basic HRM with a few added features then this is well worth considering."

Gets the job done
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable, Good Fit
"This monitor works well, and the alarm system (to let you know if your Hear Rate has moved outside of your pre-set boundaries) is a useful tool.
The chest strap (which is included) is comfortable and after a minute you completely forget you're wearing it.
The only quip, is with the fact that once you set the watch to monitor your H/R, you cannot simultaneously check the time as well.
But for the price, this is a very good buy and I am happy with the purchase."

Does the job
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable
"Very happy with this - I haven't looked at all the functions cos all I wanted was an easy to use HRM that clearly picks up a signal. You don't need to wet the strap to get a reading which is good. My only grumble is that the strap can leave a mark where the sensor is and that it doesn't sit as flat against the skin as I would have liked."

Great entry level HRM
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Not Enough Features
"If I could afford a HRM/Bike computer with cadence and GPS all in one I would buy it. This is a cheap and reliable no frills HRM. Great if you're starting out with HRMs."

Simple but functional
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Not Enough Features
"This is a vert simple heart rate monitor. I only has one training zone. This is fine but if you need or want to monitor warm up/down or interval training this will not be up to it.
The heart monitor an strap is comfortable and you do not realise you are wearing it. The watch I have fixed to the handle bars which means I can actually see it whilst riding.
Cheap and does the job. I don't think that you can ask any more. well worth it.

Great anti-bludging device
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight, does the job
Cons: doesn't remind you of grandma's birthday
"Ever had one of those days when it's all too hard and you just cruise through what was going to be a good training session?
This little machine will soon tell you – well, beep at you – if you're not putting in the effort. The competitive juices kick in and before you know it, the effort scale improves no end.
For those who tend to overdo it, or are getting back into training and don't need a coronary to bugger it up, the alarms can be set at the other end of the scale to keep the work rate at a safe level.
It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it is a reliable, light, easily worn heart rate monitor that is great value for money."

Good durable watch/HRM
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"It is a nice watch to see, well built, and not too bulky.
It works well, never had any problems with the monitor and it indeed connects to some gym equipment automatically.
Very easy to use as well. I was only interested in Heart rate and Recovery rate so that can see if I'm making any improvements.
I had a look at the more advanced HRM but I'm glad that I went for this one. Nice price as well.

Great Value Heart Monitor
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable
"Iam 66 years old and have just been diagnosed with angina. I am a fit athletic type - always out cycling or jogging. So I needed something to check I wasn't overdoing things.
I have just purchased this heart rate monitor on line from UK. It arrived in NZ in just 1 week! It is simple to use and very reliable. About half the price I was quoted in my local sport shops. I'm thinking of buying a second one for the bike."

Worth while purchase
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Not Enough Features, Limited Color Choices
"This is my first heart monitor. I am cycling just over a year now and decided to purchase a HRM to help me train. Seems good. One thing I don't like about it is that your can't access the time of day when in monitoring mode. The monitor must be turned off to access the date. There is a date button accessible while in monitor mode, but who really needs to check the date while working out. For the price it is a great buy for those starting out. To set it up I had to search a few sites on the Web as the manual ain't so hot. Other than that,no problems."

Timex Active Heart Rate Monitor
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I have been use my Timex Active Heart rate monitor for a month now and have found it really helpful with my current marathon training programme. This HRM is only a basic model in the Timex range but none the less a very good beginner level HRM, user-friendly, easy to programme and compatable with most treadmills, crosstrainers etc for BPM displays whilst working out at the gym. I have also used the HRM whilst swimming and not had any problems with it, very satisfied with this product and would recommend to any looking for a cheap, reliable user friendly HRM."

Straight forward HRM
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"I wanted to dip my toe into the world of HRM training without breaking the bank. at about £40 it fitted the bill. Watch and strap are both comfortable to wear.
Setting up is straight forward and easy to alter the (only) target zone. If you wish to train in another zone then you have to change the settings, a 30sec job.
Display is good, can either be set to time or heart rate, one minor drawback is that it will not display both at the same time and I have yet to work out how to switch to clock mode from HRM mode without stopping the HRM recording and having to start a new session, losing previous data. I particularily like the HRM set to %age mode, instead of looking to keep your HR at 118bpm you just look to keep the display showing 60 (%) for example.
Post exercise summary information shows how long you were exercising, how long in your target zone, average HR, max HR and calories burnt (not that I ever believe "calorie burnt" calculations).
Not sure that I need any further features from a HRM, I would recommend it to anybody looking to dip their toe without breaking the bank"
