Fulcrum Racing R Torq RS Chainset

Made in two options, Race with a 53/39 ring combo and Compact with a 50/34 combination. Manufactured by Fulcrum with a mixture of multidirection carbon fibre and a uni-direction fibre structure, this crankset is designed for competitive racing at the highest level. The 5 arm spider is rotated by 33° to hide the 5th arm and improve power transfer whilst also helping to keep the weight at 699g. The cranks are compatible with Fulcrum R Torq bottom bracket cups.

Lightweight Chainset
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"This chainset was right on the claimed weight of 699g (including the BB cups) for the compact version with 172.5mm cranks. At only 4g heavier than the more expensive RRS, this represents much better value.
They are seriously stiff - I didn't notice any flex on an all-out climb up a 25% gradient.
Fitting the ultra-torque system is an absolute doddle apart from a tiny retaining clip on the drive side. Quite what it's purpose really is i'm not sure, as if the main bolt fails there's nothing retaining the non-drive side crank.....
The q-factor (distance between the cranks) is narrower than most other cranks, which might cause an issue if you have particularly flared chainstays or ride toe-out, though the only issue I had was adjusting the front deraillieur so that it wouldn't rub.
The only real drawback is the price - £425 (RRP) is a serious amount of cash for a chainset, though it's on a par with Campy Record."
