"Easy to construct, my nephew loves it. Needed the lowering kit so he can ride it comfortably but he is speeding along within days of having received it for his 2nd birthday. Light to carry and can withstand being dropped."

A great product - highly recommended
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
"After doing a lot of research into balance bikes, I chose the FirstBike. My son (32 mths) adores it. It goes everywhere with him. The adjustable seat makes it very adaptable as he grows. He got the hang of it immediately and was scooting around the house. Now he's out and about, up and over bumps, puddles etc. It's pretty cool looking, and is very light to carry if he gets tired."

FirstBike Pedal-free kids bike
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"This is by far the best pedal free balance bike on the market. We bought this for our daughters thrid birthday and within minutes she was trying to free wheel and lift her legs. It's lightweight and superior quality to the many other balance bikes on the market. Its not the cheapest but by far the best. and well worth the money. Our daughter loves riding it and many friends have commented on the simple and safe design. If you are thinking of buying a balance bike we would certainly 100% recommend FirstBike."

Light and easy to use
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Given to our daughter for her second birthday with the lowering set (unfortunately and extra cost). She was able to ride it within moments! Being made of a very hard plastic it is light and seems to be resilient."

Dump those training wheels!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I purchased this bike for my twins, but while they are growing the legs to use it (they were 18 months when it arrived promptly at my door), I have let my 4 year old daughter use it.
Previously I have battled with both my 4 and 6 year old daughters to get them riding with and without (failing on this one) training wheels.
My 4 year old love this bike. After 2 weeks she was showing great ability to balance. From the use of this bike it has demonstrated to me that training wheels provide a false sense of security and should never be used to teach a child to ride a bike.
The bike is sturdy and light. It is a go any where form of transportation. My 4 year old seldomly complains about up hill drags on it. I probably will be getting a second one for both twins to have one, when the time is right."

Great for toddlers
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"'Santa' bought this for our 2 1/2 year old at Christmas after he'd seen a conventional red bike with stabilisers at Center Parcs. We spent a day at CP pushing him around and/or carrying the bike, which was fun for him but a little tough on the back.
After reviewing several options we went for this because it was light and sturdy, and had good reviews. Our son was a little wary at first because he'd just got used to pedalling his trike, but after we bought the lowering kit to give him a bit more clearance he soon got the hang of it. 2 months on and he's almost lifting his feet up as he coasts!
Great bike for toddlers, light enough for him to pick up and carry (or for us to pick him up and carry the bike if he gets tired). If he falls off there are no spikey bits to injure him, and most of the time he manages to get up himself and jump straight back on. The basket is a must-have extra. Although it's not as high quality as the bike (held on by cable ties) I assume that is to keep the weight down.
Overall, if you can afford it get one of these!

Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
"I ordered the FirstBike Street for my 2 year old with the lowering kit as he has quite diddy legs. It was extremely easy to put together as you only need to fix the front bars with a single pin and wheel with 2 locking screws.
On my son's birthday he was the most impressed I've ever seen him over a present and was all over it, even more than his Red & Yellow car that he loves. He is still a cm or 2 away from getting his feet on the ground but that hasn't stopped him trying to get the hang of it.
The design is great and a lot of people have commented on the fact that you don't need pedals or stabilisers. I never liked watching kids cycle at a 45 degree angle just because the stabilisers let them and wanted to avoid this.
It is an expensive bike for a little one but we had family members club together for his birthday rather than get a load of small toys he won't get the use of. With the bike being easily adjustable to increase the height, this should last him at least 3 years. The fact that the holes in frame make it able to sit over the handles of his pushchair are an added bonus.
The only slight negative is with the lowering kit which is more of a marketing issue than a practical one. The picture has obviously had the back wheel lifted up to make it look like it lowers it more as you can see from my image that it only takes it down a bit. Minor point though as it does lower it.
If I can update this review in a few months to how my son is progressing with his balance on it, I will do."

3 year old speed merchant
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"The FirstBike has been a great buy and my little boy loves zooming about on it. The speeds he gets up to down hill does worry me but he's never come a cropper yet. We got it last Christmas, when he was 2 1/2 and perhaps a bit young but after 2-3 months he had really got the hang of it. I think he'll progress straight to a pedal bike, without stabilisers, well before his big sister, who's just managed to ride without stabilisers at 6 1/2.
It is quite a bit more expensive than other run bikes you can buy but has hardly a mark on it and is dead easy to adjust. His friends have cheaper versions that now look quite battered in comparison and need tools to adjust."

nice strong and light
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight
"I got this for my 2 now 3 year old boy. Pedal free is the way to go, not stabilisers to get them to learning balance and riding skills and safer, I think. I hang it on the pushchair through the frame when all the little rider's energy is burnt off."

Great for Kids
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"We got this item for my 2 year old son after looking at other options. I went for this bike due to the styling and the frame material.
It is surprisingly well made and would appear to be very strong and durable.
I dont think there is a better alternative for this money.
It is also light enough to hang off the handles of the buggy if on a long jaunt.
If buying for a 2 year old I would recommend paying the other £6 or so for the lowering kit as it was slightly too big for my son."

Trust the germans...
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: why don't they have a next stage with pedals?
"Simple, solid, sturdy and fantastically quick to learn, this (German made) bike knocks other bikes with stabilisers into a cocked hat. My kids (2 and 3) had pretty much mastered the trick of building up momentum and then balancing as they careered down the road within a month of setting out on these. Great stuff.. would strongly recommend these to anyone."
