Velopress Paris-Roubaix - A Journey Through Hell

Paris-Roubaix is the world's most famous one-day cycle race. Held in north eastern France it is aptly known as "The Hell of the North" - a name resulting from the long stretches of muddy farm roads, paved with roughhewn "bone-shaking" cobblestones. The course is made more treacherous by notoriously ...

Great reading
"A fantastic book, well worth the price (which was nearly half what I could buy it locally for in Australia). Well narrated (particularly the opening story, narrated through the eyes of an anonymous rider enjoying a shower after riding Paris-Roubaix). Fabulous pictures, and the type of book that you can just pick up every so often and read a few pages."

Paris Roubaix
Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality
Cons: Bulky
"I am a bit of a cycle fan and asked my Sister to order this book through Wiggle for xmas. It was delivered the next day. The book has fantastic pictures throughout and captures the spirit of the Queen of Classics perfectly. It also charts the history of the race and explains how the reputation of the race evolved over the years. It tells the story of many of the pavé sectors like Mons le pevelé, Carrefour les Arbres and the Arenbourg Trench. It also tells the tales of the Heroes of the race. The book is translated from typically French over the top prose but this adds to the flavour of the book. All that was missing from the book were a couple of maps illustrating the early and modern Parcours."

Interesting History
Pros: informative
Cons: Bulky
"After just recently taking up cycling the Paris to Roubaix race caught my interest late one night on SBS, What a race!!!. The book (which I had to have) outlines the history and explains in some detail the awsome fealings the riders come away with after competing.
I have broused through the book several times and read it cover to cover not able to put it down. For anyone getting into or experienced with the sport this is a must read.

Good reading
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"On winter nights, a book about cycling moreover about the history of one famous race, is the perfect gift for cyclists. Cordee Paris-Roubaix - A journey Through H*ll, is what most of us dream about. The effort, the struggle, the challenge, not from other riders but from the course. It is surely a bitter/sweet experience to enter and complete such an historic bike race, let alone win it. The pages of this book is filled with great references and photographs.
Add it to your Christmas List, the perfect stocking filler."
