AWESOME
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: a little heavy
"The bargain of the century is what I would call this machine. £900 sounds like a fair old wedge but once you ride one of these beauties it is loose change. This bike impresses me every time I ride it. It climbs with so much tenacity and desends like a big hit, big travel downhiller. The equilink allows just enough give under pedalling but no matter how hard you pedal the give is completely consistent. The forks are amazing and the 20 mm through axle makes steering your own line a doddle through the rockiest paths. The Avid Juicy 3's are consistently good with a true two finger action and the rest of the finishing kit is top notch. If I'm gonna be picky and find one fault it would be the weight, but in it's defence it's taken a couple of tumbles and faired very well. In summary the steal of the century for true all day, all mountain epics. Oh and a numbered, certified limited edition!!"

Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile, very upgrade-able
Cons: Limited Color Choices, cross country set-up, low power brakes
"These bikes started out at £1500 and at that price you'd probably argue there's better bikes that'll do the same job for the the same money, but at below £1k you really are getting a bargain.
I've been unlucky and had problems with the 409 pike fork. It's been replaced under waranty. Also the truvlativ bottom bracked seems to be a weak link. Mine's now been replaced with Shimano SLX.
If you take your riding seriously and you're looking at progressing to an advanced skill level you'll probably want to upgrade the Juicy 3 brakes as they just don't have the power needed for one finger braking.
The bike seems to be built with a more cross country set-up than aggressive All-mountain, with the low power brakes, triple ring chainset and no chain tensioner you'll find the chain tends to come off at the front after jumps and bumpy descents and you'll need a big handful of brake lever to get serious stopping power.
Climbing is not as easy as you'd find on a true cross country bike but the equilink system really does work for those riders who are happy to sit down while climbing. Standing up results in a bouncy castle effect. Going down is super fun and the bike feels comfortable jumping too. Suits me nicely but some may not be so happy. I'm 5' 11" and went for a medium as I like to feel I can chuck my bike around a bit. I don't regret it.
My bike now has Avid Elixir CR brakes, SLX chainset with bash guard and Gravity Dropper Adjustable seat post. I'm happy now.

Bargain - use money you save to upgrade wheelset
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Great Value, Rugged
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Great bike fror the money - had mine 9 months now and very pleased with it. Some comments/reviews I've read say it's a little heavy - and stock it's not the lightest ride - it comes with a pretty heavy wheel/tyre combo. My fix? I bought some Hope hoops and stuck some 2.1 high rollers on it and it feels just as lively if not more so than my mates boardman pro fs (which is a sub 28lb bike)."

Fundamental flaw
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"When working, this bike is great. Heavy and steep-angled, but providing you're happy to winch up climbs and get fitter before attempting any long rides, very good. For the extra effort on uphills, it has a feeling of immense chuckability on the downs.
I've only become aware of how good the suspension is on it since I've had to stop riding it and make do with a hardtail. Which brings me to this bike's fundamental problem - the equilink. It appears this problem doesn't happen a lot, but the bolt in the lower equilink strut is plated. Under use, it may start shedding plating into the needle bearings and shred them. If you notice play, or a clicking sound, that seems to be coming from the equilink (especially noticeable under pedalling load), visit this link: http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=495526 and hopefully you'll be able to stop the problem before it gets any worse.
I've only just discovered this explanation after two months (out of four months of ownership) of the bike having an unrideable amount of play in the rear triangle. I hope passing this on helps somebody, as there is literally no other information on the net about this problem, and most dealers don't seem to be aware of it either.
I guess that's the downside of buying from an unfamiliar American brand.

Mint indeed
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile, limited edition
Cons: juicy 3 brakes not brilliant for heavier riders
"I bought a Mint Sauce Edition Felt Compulsion 2 SE #231 in August 2008, so almost a year on let me give my review.
As a 6 foot tall person weighing just over 200LBS I was a bit skeptical about needing a full suspension bike. After doing some research I decided an All Mountain was what I needed and set about seeing what was available. I had shortlisted two bikes and the Felt Compulsion 2 SE was the final choice. I was a little apprehensive as Felt are more known for their road bike offerings.
It arrived well boxed and Wiggle even provided me with a pedal wrench and multitool. The bike was almost ready to ride, I just needed to mount the bars and fit the pedals (I opted for DMR V8's)
The cockpit was perfect for me, the Felt bars are great, the wide bars with shorter stem just suits me fine. It comes with Felt's own lock on grips, Juicy brakes, and SRAM X7 shifters.
Felt's saddle is also an excellent bit of kit, it's comfy, I can sit on it all day and it reminds me of the WTB Rocket V
The frame is plain white and I like the colour/decal scheme to be honest. it's almost appliance like, as in it looks functional. The frame is stiff and the package is no lightweight but certainly not a heavyweight either, remember this is an All Mountain bike.
One thing I do like is that Felt screened all the torque settings on the steering stem and rear shock linkages. It sure beats reading the manual when giving the bike its routine maintenance checkup
I gave the bike its maiden run at Swinley Forest on the red route to start. The bike handled well, very little flex under my weight and the slack steering angle made it very predictable indeed. The RockShox Pike 409's were well up to the job of keeping the front end well behaved with extra front end stiffness added by the 20mm Maxle system. The RS Pike's 95-140mm adjustability with adjustable preload, damping and lock out make them excellent all rounders
The rear suspension was not as tunable as I had hoped, but blame that on the limitations of the Fox RP2 rear shock. I would have loved total lock out on the rear, but Felt's Equilink does eliminate some of the rear end bob experienced when pedaling.
The rear end is predictable and works well, there's a little chain lash on the swingarm but Felt took the onus of fitting a protector.
I strongly recommend investing in a torque wrench (2-30Nm) and keeping an eye on the rear suspension linkage bolts. Mine did come loose after the first ride, but a little LocTite and the correct torque keeps them in place. As a matter of routine I check all suspension linkages before every ride.
The Juicy 3 brakes are good, the 185mm front/160mm rear combo works well, but they are not brilliant for my weight. This bike would have been better off with Juicy 5's to be honest.
The WTB rims are great and the Maxxis Ignitor tyres offer decent speed and good all round grip for most conditions except when it's very muddy as they tend to collect mud and turn into slicks.
The Groupset is a hybrid with the brilliant SRAM X9 on the rear and a Shimano Deore XT front deralleur, the combo works well and shifts through the cogs flawlessly. Mine had to be reindexed after a few months, but that's just wear and tear.
Lastly you do also get a certificate and a 20th anniversary copy of MBUK once your register the bike with Saddleback. I warn you that they need to be chased, I sent 3 emails to them before I got a response.. but I have the certificate, the magazine AND the bike
As an overall package the Felt Compulsion 2 SE's value for money is unbeatable. Also there were only 300 of these made, so they're unusual and I get a lot of people looking the Compulsion 2 SE over at trial centres or wherever I ride."

Felt Compulsion, Can you get better for £1000
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Having looked around for a good deal on a bike for around the £1000-1500 mark, i stumbled upon the Felt Compulsion Special Edition. After having a quick look at the component list and checking the WWW for reviews on said parts and bike, i decided to take the offer. For a £1000 there are many bikes out there that are quite good, and will do a decent job, BUT, this bike for £1000 (or even the original £1500) stands head and shoulders above them all.
Starting at the front - Pike forks, upto 145mm travel, lockout on the compression and super smooth travel, they look good, and are exceptionally well built.
Avid Juicy brakes, nice big stoppers, good rotor size and a generally nice feel to them.
Mixed SRAM/Shimano groupset is a nice touch, i wasn't expecting such high qaulity parts for the price.
The rear end suspension works a treat, on climbs, just raise the saddle and crank away, with very little pedal bob.
Overall this is a great bike for just about anything, it will take X-Country in it's stride, some light downhill will not cause it to come out in a rash, and it is balanced enough to handle some North Shore style trails too.
I would recomend this bike to anyone."

Good All Rounder
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"Not one for writing reviews, however when deciding on what bike to buy I personally found them helpfull. I have had the bike for over six months now during which it has been subject to several incidents of stupidity, to which it has stood up very well, it can be very forgiving. My ratings are high as they are purley based on bike and budget. Bike works well with a good selection of quality components, there are other full sus bikes out there that are cheaper, with costs been saved on suspension and brakes, making them feel like your riding a pogo stick. This is an ideal piece of kit for someone looking for a good first full sus purchase or upgrade. To date I can not find fault in build quality, there is a mass of adjustment to allow you to adjust the bike to suit riding styles."

Awesome Bouncer!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: none whatsoever!!!
"I bought this bike back in Feb and haven't stopped smiling yet (or talking about it!!) Its a dream to ride, true not the lightest bike but you try telling it that, excellent kit, ultra comfy and really eye catching in the "Mint Sauce" colour scheme.
The Pike fork is superb and the equilink system is a piece of engineering genius.
Comes with the certificate to authenticate your limited edition and the 20th anniverary edition of MBUK.
I love this bike so much my wife is convinced she is going to come home from work one day and find me in bed with it!!!!

Pros: Comfortable, Great Value, Rugged
"I was looking for an all mountain full bouncer and was spoilt for choice with so many options on the market. I was obviously on a budget cause aren't we all at the mo. When I saw this bike and the kit that was on it and the price it was going for, well it was a no brainer. The fact it was a tribute to Mint Sauce was an added bonus. I've had the bike for about six months now and I'm still smiling about it. I've done loads of miles on it and visited many a trail centre, also done a few ad hoc routes too. This bike just eats up the miles, 140mm travel on the front is just amazing and its a sturdy fork too. Its not the lightest bike to take up the hills but it gets you there, On the downs its a very stable confidence buliding bike. It eats up rocks and roots. Its comfortable to ride, great saddle and riding position. It corners like a dream, i'm finding it hard to upgrade the tyre because I can't find one thats better. To be honest I'm finding it very difficult to upgrade any part of this bike because it works very well. I would reccomend this bike to anyone who loves trail centres . Its not the bike of my dreams and its not for xc lovers. It has lots of very good kit on for the money compared to other bikes in its price bracket. If I haven't got my point across quite simply its just a great bike for the money!!!!!!"

Value for money
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: a bit heavy, a bit twitchy
"I have had the felt for approx 3 months and use it mainly for singletrack/allmountain around avan argoed/glyncarrwg and it's done me well. It is a little twitchy due to the frames geometry and not the lightest. However very easy to set up, ride and go. Comfy on the rough stuff too.
Good groupset, forks, bars, brakes not bad, comfy seat, nice details on the frame.
Would recommend an upgrade to xtr gearcables, but this goes for any bike.
Excellent value for money as got it in the wiggle sale for £890.....nice one wiggle

Good value, robust and quality in one
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged
"With the recent hike in MTB prices, this Felt is great value (I bought 2 - one at £880 and the other aat £950). With quality parts - Pike forks, Fox rear and XTR front derailer the parts at 2009 prices are way above the price of the bike. Its a little heavy but an All Mountain bike I suppose that is expected. With adjustable forks you have position options. Ride is smooth and steering sharp, although cockpit is a little cramped if you end up using it for any road work. Overall excellent."
