Avid Juicy Three Disc Brakes with 160mm rotor
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, Lightweight, Versatile
"I had to replace my disck brakes as the ones that came with mky bike were faulty. The replacement brakes were the Avid Juicy Three disc brakes with 160mm rotor.
They were easy to fit and adjust without having to spend much time reading the instructions.
They work very well for all the types of terrain I ride. This does not include extreme down hill MTB or any massive jumps etc.
I find the brakes responsive in all weather conditions. However the brake pads do wear out rapidly in very wet conditions.
Changing pads the first time took a bit of head scratching, but now its a piece of cake.
I am glad my replacement brakes were avid threes and I would buy them again."

Avoid
Cons: Low Quality
"These came as stock on my Bad Boy 700.
I hardly ever review on websites, but the complete lack of quality of these brakes has stirred me!
I've ridden with all types of brake in all conditions but these are the worst. Brakes need to feel consistent. Even the very weakest stoppers you can get used to and make allowances for, but what you don't want is inconsistency and differential between front and rear.
One moment they tug and stick - the next they go AWOL, and for my money that's dangerous. A good V-brake beats them all day long. They squeal, lose centre and need bleeding again and again. And whats worst is that from one corner to the next, you don't know what you're gonna get."

The best stopping power for the price!
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, Rugged
Cons: Unadjustable, heavy
"Have been riding these brakes for few weeks now and find them absolutely brilliant for the money, its my first step up from rim brakes and the difference is well worth the investment!"

Excellent budet brakes
"These brakes came on my Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra and they're the first disc brakes I've ever used, so I can only compare them to V-brakes and the like.
The build quality is excellent. The brakes feel very solid and as a bonus look the part as well! I've had them for three months now. At the beginning the pads were slightly rubbing but after 200km or so this stopped and only sometimes happens now after a ride in the wet. Usually it's gone the next day though. I have now done 800km with them and until now there has been no need for bleeding or any type of maintenance.
Performancewise I would say they are as good as good V-brakes but not necessarily any better in dry conditions and slightly better in the wet. I use them on a commuter bike and they have more than enough power for that but I reckon if you're doing DH or jumping you could do with some extra ooomph.
All in all though at this price the Juicy Threes are a real steal and I can only recommend them as an upgrade from V-brakes for cross country riding or commuting."

Don't bother
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Low Quality, Poor Quality, Wears Out Easily
"These brakes came with my Cannondale Bad Boy, and have caused me nothing but problems -have had the bike back in the shop 4 times in three months because of these d@mn brakes.
They grab and slow you down.
They fade (within days of a bleed) so that the lever is nearly touching the grip.
Cannondale are cutting corners putting these cheapo brakes on what is otherwise a tough, high-performance urban bike. There is no excuse for this, given that the one thing that a hardcore city bike needs is great brakes, for all those times that d!ckwad drivers cut you up.
The bike is going back to the shop today, and these pieces of sh!te are being upgraded."

Great value anchors
Pros: Great Value, High Quality
"These are great value for money hydraulic disc brakes. Easy to install and adjust straight from the box. Build quality is very good; stopping power not up to their more expensive rivals, but you can't do much better for the price."

Great upgrade!
Pros: Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: expensive bleed kit required for maintenance
"Fitted juicy 3 in place of V brakes on my ageing Trek 6000, very easy to fit and centre with great stopping power. Not experienced any fade but as i use for XC."
