Garmin Topo
Cons: Unattractive, Not Enough Features, Low Quality, poor quality for money and not very useful
"I have owned a lot of Garmin products, my latest, the Garmin Edge 800 is the best, BUT the TOPO map I paid a lot of money for is not worth it. I have got better maps from open sourced free maps on the Internet, this map is rubbish compared to the free ones, sorry Wiggle, I am a platinum customer, but the truth has to be told, and I am an expert in GPS mapping [I bought my Edge 800 from you, check].This product is poor, it is well outperformed by open source software, I opened it and now it's mine, the only turkey I have ever bought from Wiggle and not their fault, I blame Garmin!"

No better than the Garmin 705 edge base map
Cons: not a detailed map, useless for navigation
"I bought this map for my garmin Edge 705. The main reason for getting this was the base map that comes with the garmin 705 is not very detailed espeically when using it too navigate on A or B roads in the countryside.
Unfortunately this map is no more detailed than the base map that comes with the Garmin edge 705. The only difference is that this map adds relief lines so you can see where the hills are. This is actually a disadvantage as the relief lines are very easy to confuse with the roads ( both are a black line) . When trying to navigate using the map along A or B roads , the roads do not appear on your map until you zoom in so much that you cannot plan your route . NAvigation using the map is pretty useless in the countryside. The only way to do so is to set destinations and use the sat nav function , or get your smart phone out your pocket and use google maps.
I would not buy this map its a total waste of money, if you have a garmmin 705 stick with the base map that comes with it"

"An essential addition to your Edge 705 for use in Britain. Total road coverage, though for off road and green laning it is not as good as pure Ordnance Survey maps that can be used on walkers GPS units. The price gets expensive if you travel all over the country and have to buy all three items (I have initially just bought two, the Northern England and the Scotland). If you have an Edge 705, get this."

Essential tool
Pros: does what you need well
"The topo cards are an essential part of any Garmin GPS unit that works with them. I use mine extensively for cycling, walking, and in the car where it works just like a satnav. It has proved invaluable when route finding, and I wouldn't go anywhere without it. I haven't given it 5 stars because it does not display rights of way, just tracks and paths, but generally I find this is a minor issue."

Essential mapping for your Garmin!
Pros: accurate
"Essential back drop Topo raster mapping for your Gamin Edge. You can't live without it, but I would always still MB with 25K Explorer series. Always personally found you need a combination of the two."

impressed
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"This (and other maps) are very recommened to bring the gramin 705 alive.
This maps covers all the north of england and is very detailed. It covers all roads footpaths bridleways and terrain data which makes it very worth while.
Price may seem pricey but when you think how much area of the country it covers the comparitive OS maps would be far greater in price.
The only downside to it is that routing on 705 doesn't seem to cover bridleways and footpaths and will always take you via the road. This may be an option in the 705 as I'm still getting used to it.
With this map I can now use my garmin 705 in the car, hiking and biking for GPS and routing a lot more effectively than the built in maps."
