Morgan Blue Retro Wool Long Sleeve Cycling Jersey

Look the part wearing a Morgan Blue Retro Jersey as worn by cycling legends such as Eddy Merckxx and Rik Van Looy. Hand-made in Belgium, the jerseys come in three different designs: Molteni, Faema and Solo-Superia. Molteni was the team led by Merckxx during his most dominant years; Faema was the powerhouse pro team from 1955-1970 while Solo-Superia was legendary Belgian rider Rik van Looy's team during the '60s. All jerseys are casual fit with a quarter length zip. They have a retro steel zipper and are made from Wool-Acryl so can be machine washed.

Fun, not performance!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality
"I bought this jersey for a bit of fun, It was quite expensive but I loved the retro design. Performance as a cycling jersey is not it's strong point, but then why would it be?? It's retro! Materials and styling have moved on a lot since the days of wooly jerseys, so don't expect a revolution! Take it for what it is - a fun, good looking top. It's a comfy, warm, relaxed fit jersey. I've had no problems with the zip and the quality is good."

controversial
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I bought "Brooklyn Chewing Gum" design. It's unusual. I like the design, ie. cut and colours. My girlfriend hates it and always asks me to take it off, even inside the house. She would be happy if I wore it only when cycling. But I bought it for wearing in the house, when it's a bit cold. On that account, it's not particularly good, despite wool in it.
My issue with it is that it feels a bit "plasticky" . It's 50% wool, 50% synthetic. It looks like good quality, but you can see that stitching is not uniform as it would be had this item been completely machine made.
Anyway, I like it, but I wouldn't say it's a sort of purchase I'd definitely recommend. The only thing that can justify the price is the fact that it's hand made. And being hand made doesn't mean it's any better than machine made, on the contrary."

Retro but not practical
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Poor Fit
"Looks good but poor fit for cycling. This is a nice looking shirt but it doesn't fit well for cycling. Body was too big and sleeves were too short. I returned it to Wiggle for a refund after trying it on and deciding that it wasn't really worth the money."

Pros: High Quality
Cons: Poor Fit
"For a medium size jersey it was way to baggy in the body. For that proper medium body length the jersey felt like it was an XL in the body. Sloppy and big. The sleeves felt short also. I'm not sure what they are using for the model. I don't know that many fat cyclists that this would fit nicely.
It is unfortunate because it seemed like a very nice jersey. Material and build seemed nice.

Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, Poor Fit
"Nice retro-shirt. At Wiggle 20% cheaper than elsewhere, so i gave it a try.
I knew what to expect, wool shirt, excellent streetwear
I took a Large, as it was the only one left in the orange-brown Molteni-version. Fit was poor, especially just underneath the armpits. Too large over there, and therefore I returned the item, for the first time as a wiggle-customer.
I don't think a Medium would be better. Shirt is just cut for a very weird bodyshape: slim-waste bodybuilders with a chest of over 120 cm :-)"

Great Present
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable
Cons: Expensive
"I bought this for my husband for Xmas, it had sold out everywhere but managed to find one at Wiggle, ordered it and it came within 48 hours, my husband was thrilled with it as he is interested in vintage cycles it has the look and feel of a 1950s/60s cycling jersey. It is also ideal as fashion wear."

this is not a cycling jersey
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: not for cycling but for fashion
"Ordered this item in the belief it is a genuine old-school cycling jersey. Was disappointed to discover there are no back pockets whatsoever and the fit is not the tight fit of a cycling jersey. The cut is that of a normal pullover/sweater. Otherwise the quality is fine (haven't seen any fuzzy balls yet)."

Class!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"These jerseys aren't cheap, but they really look awesome and will please anyone fed up with the extremely 'busy' (read 'butt-ugly') look of today's ones. Some reviews pointed out they're designed for off-the bike use rather than on the bike, but I find they're comfortable enough for cycling (as long as you're not racing). In cold(er) weather I wear these as top layer over a cotton t-shirt as base layer (doesn't get smelly), and a modern fabric cycling jersey (to keep off windchill). This works quite well.
p.s. I was so pleased with the black Molteni jersey I ordered first, I immediately bought the brown one too!

Pros: Great Value, Comfortable
"I ordered this iconic jersey BrooklynChewing Gum to wear after the race. Great item and swiftly delivered. Maybe I'll order another one to have it signed by Mr Paris-Roubaix himself."

Very disappointed
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality, Poor Fit, Poor Quality, Unattractive
"I own a bunch of dhb stuff and was looking forward to my Mercks jersey. As other reviews have said this is more for fashion than wearing on the bike, which is fine.
However, when I got it, the jersey is very boxy, so a poor fit for a lean / athletic build.
Additionally, the zip was very poor and not attached to the jersey when received!
And finally, it smelled, in the words of my girlfriend, a bit like sick.
Suffice it to say, this has not made it into either my cycling or casual wear wardrobe."

"Overall this is a good product, on.ly gripe is that the sleeves are not very long so it's not actually that great for cycling especially when on the drops!"

Top fashion jersey
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features, Unadjustable
"When I first saw this jersey on wiggle, I knew what to expect from dhb stuff - good value, good performance, very good quality for the price, and modest, yet fashionable styling.
This jersey is expensive, and when I initially opened the packet, I was a little dissapointed and considered sending it back, because it didnt fit like functional cycle jersey, e.g the back is too short for riding in the drops, there are no pockets, the sleeves are a wee bit too short, and the fit is generous, and baggy in some places.
I therefore would not recommend it as a functional cycle jersey. Nevertheless, after a couple of wearings, it has replaced my favourite fleece in recent weeks, as it is SO warm without the bulk of fleece. It also functions well in the warm weather by keeping you cool, such are the properties of merino wool. I bought the black Faema, and it definitely looks cool and is different from anything on the high street at the moment. My recommendation is that this jersey is purely for looking cool on the high street.
If you are not used to wearing wool against the skin, a light weight tee shirt is recommended as underwear to stop it itching at first"

Nice Bike jersey for casual wear
Pros: Attractive, Great Value, High Quality, nice for casual wear
Cons: Poor Fit
"A very good option for casual wear. No for ride.
With jeans genial...
The size is a little fair if you like ample clothes

not as good as expectations
Pros: Attractive, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, Poor Fit
"I can't fault the looks, or quality of workmanship, but the cut is all wrong. It's also not as comfortable as the other merino wool items I own - this one's a bit itchy against the skin. I probably wouldn't have kept it if I had spent some more time trying it on."

Wool Jersey
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Versatile
Cons: no rear pockets
"Very warm. Machine washes well. Could do with rear pockets and sligthly longer arms. I will buy another one. Wears much better than a modern race top for commuting as you can get more than one day from it before it needs a wash."

Fashion not performance
"Wore the top in London and was commented how cool it looked. But wouldn't want to ride in it."
