Simply Brilliant
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, Versatile
"I have held off posting a review until I have truly tested this bike. I am pretty ecstatic about this bike and thought I would share my views.
The key to this bike is value for money. For what you pay, what you get is simple amazing. This bike is at least 15-20% cheaper than comparable bikes from the big names even including all the discounts available. The components are a mix of well known brands and Concept, a brand I am not too familiar with.
Positives:
Good components.
Well built.
Comfortable.
Sturdy (very little frame flex).
Looks better in the flesh than the images suggest on the website
Negatives:
Cheap but functional Chainset - I would have paid a bit more money for higher quality.
Generic frame - the frame seems to accept any accessory; v-brake, panniers etc.
Slightly tricky to clean (I am lazy)
In conclusion - this is probably the best value entry level hard tail available."

My wife's first bike
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"Bought for my wife as a means of keeping fit, little over specked for a first bike, still she loves it and for that reason cant wait to go out on it.
I do alot of cycling mostly road and would be very happy to ride the bike myself, great spec, top end gearing and shifters, superb value.
Only one problem I have experienced with this bike, my wife needed a whole new wardrobe to match and co-ordinate with it.
Mike"

Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Versatile
"This is an excellent bike. It feels sturdy, handles well and is surprisingly light. It is comfortable off-road and is quick on the roads. I have previously owned a road bike so the handlebars feel wide to me and the disc brakes require some adjusting to. The rear one makes a slight singing noise when going round corners in the dry and there is an alarmingly load groan from the brakes whenever stopping in the wet. Having said this, I am very satisfied and for the price I consider it good value."

Focus Fat Boy 2009
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Versatile
"After a lot of research I settled on this entry level hard tail based on good reviews and a high spec for the price. I couldn't be more please with it. The setup out of the box was perfect, the finish is excellent and the bike looks stunning in the flesh - better than any of the pictures I've seen.
The bike is an absolute pleasure to ride off road and it's surprisingly easy to ride on the road to get there too - which must be down to the tyres.
This has totally renewed my enthusiasm for mountain biking and I get out on it at every opportunity.
I can't see anyone being disappointed with this as a first 'proper' mountain bike."

focus fatboy 2009
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I bought this in July 2009 after spending weeks looking at loads of various reviews of what the besdst bike i could get under £500. I have to say i am very pleased with this bike as it has everything that i was after and doesn't require any immediate upgrades.
I have taken it on a few trails and have found that it has a very natural feel to it when it comes to cornering and so far it seems to have taken everything i've thrown at it.
Some would say that due to its wider wheels that it is not really suitable for road riding although i have taken it on severall road rides and have not found it any noticeablly harder than my old Scott bike.
I would recommend this bike, especially at the moment as the price has dropped due to the upcoming release of the 2010 bikes"

Land Rover of a Bike
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
"I've had this bike for seven months, and it has been my workhorse bike, pulling my trailer of kit about, and I have been able to take it out for long XC rides as well. The versatility and durability of this bike are definitely the stand out features. At this weight, you're never going to be able to race on it (unless you're a superhuman), but for getting out and enjoying the countryside - or getting about the town without worrying whether anything will break - this bike is perfect, especially if you fit SPD pedals to it.
The tyres are a brilliant choice for a bike at this price point, largely because of their very low rolling resistance on the road, combined with their ability to hold their own in all but the gloopiest of mud.
I no longer have both the original brakes - a crash early on meant I had to change (and I substantially upgraded) the front brake to an Avid Juicy 7. The standard brakes the bike is shipped with proved fine, though upgrading the front one has unleashed even more of the potential in this frame and fork.
Naturally, at this price point, things wear out faster than you might like, Tektro brake pads seem to be good for about 200 harsh miles, and after 1500 miles, chainrings are showing signs of wear. Having said that, the cassette seems to be in good order.
All in, this bike is a fantastic first MTB, or simply a useful addition to a stable that needs something extremely reliable. The paint job makes it a bit of a looker too - even with a coating of mud.

Pros: Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I got the Fat Boy last year and have ridden it regularly since mainly offroad but it is very fast onroad also.
I think the bike looks great and despite needing time to get used to the feel, it provides a fun, lively and comfortable ride. It is great value and the suspension and frame are excellent for the price range. The brakes were also very good and allowed the chance to hit high speeds with confidence! Only issue is that although the white frame makes it look great, mine has developed a few scratches and marks but that is nothing to worry about.
Great bike and a great value buy.
Thanks.

Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"I tried loads of different bikes but this stood out for me, the design and the fact I have a focus road bike made it too good to miss when Wiggle dropped 20% off, bringing it within budget. Really fast delivery as always and well packed. Easy to put together. Frame looks fantastic and built for speed, even with the fat tyres on. My only critism would be the fairly noisy rear cassette, maybe i'm used to my silent road one? Everything else is spot on. Thanks Focus!!!"

"Bought this bike because I cracked the frame on my old one. So far I am nothing but impressed. The brakes in particular I have found astonishing. Their stopping power is superb though this has nearly caused me to go t*ts up several times. My only criticism would be the saddle. Am I the only person who finds the modern trend of expecting all of the padding to be in the buttocks a bit strange?"

Excellent quality
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"An excellent bike. Used it for both light offroad and onroad (until it was nicked). Only minus would be frequency of punctures."
