S Works, look out......... Mine are for sale.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"Hi, after more or less a lifelong user of Specialized, I fancied a change and thought about getting another bike to keep my S Works Tarmac for 'best'. Anyway, after searching the internet, going in shops (as we all do when researching our new bike) I was taken by this little Focus Cayo Campagnolo..... Here we go again, more research... It was some of a leap of faith for me to order something like this from the internet, but after reading the positive reviews and write-ups I thought I'll take a chance...........
WHAT A MACHINE..... The great guys at wiggle, with their lightening professional delivery had the bike to me in a day or so. Baited with anticipation, I dived in the box and first thing I saw was this stunning paitwork. I lifted it out (shocked by the lack of weight) and there it stood. What a work of art.
Not one for being 'proud of the shiniest bike' I set her up and rode..... Seriously, other manufacturers need to be very aware of this little bike and take note, especially the £££. I have (and had) bikes costing three times as much as the Cayo and have to say prefer the Cayo any day. Fast, light, strong on the hills, efficiant, and overall fantastic,,,,, never mind the stunning looks. I have covered about 450 miles since I bought it, which OK is not mega miles yet, but I have never been smitten by something so quickly - not even the S Works.
The Campag kit is spot on, never used the 11 chorus before, but got used it it shortly after take-off. I fitted Keo Carbons to compliment the bike and they really do complete the package....... More reports later, but a MASSIVE well done to Focus and Wiggle for this super bike... Don't hesitate - get yourself one, you will never regret it.
Just the Fulcrum Racing 1's now ????? Will it ever end......
"

A great racing bike
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I would strongly recommend this bike. I spent about 6 months trying to decide on a bike for the next few seasons' racing and eventually settled on the Focus Cayo Expert Campa, which had been the first one I had seriously considered buying. I had planned to leave it in its box until the spring and use my old bike for winter base-training. However, when it arrived 2 days after I finally bit the bullet and ordered it I couldn't help myself. The packaging was secure and all parts arrived in mint condition. It took less than 30 minutes to attach the stem to the steerer tube, add my own pedals and make some adjustments to the saddle position. I have managed to limit myself to about 300km on it and put it away until the weather improves. My old bike is aluminium with Campag Centaur parts and Fulcrum Racing 5 wheels (same as those provided with the Focus) so I was already familiar with the shifting and wheelset. The main improvements over my old bike are the smoothness and stability of the ride on the flat and descents and also how much easier it is to accelerate as the gradient levels out at the summit of climbs (I climb at least a sprocket faster on this than on my old bike). As a large rider I had always struggled to keep up with the climbers as they accelerated towards the end of climbs, now I can't wait for the new season.
Frame: Size 60cm (I am 1.88m, inside leg 35 inches and the fit is fine)
As a relatively heavy rider (85kg) I was attacted to Focus frames having heard that they were stiffer than many other carbon frames from other manufacturers. However, I had heard that Focus frames could be a little harsh but have found this frame much smoother than my aluminium frame. This frame is stiff where you want it to be without letting you know about every bump in the tarmac. The bicycle responds instantly to an increase in power and accelerates well on sprints. The frame design is classy and the thick tubes inspire confidence for larger riders. I am very impressed with the bottom bracket area which appears very stable during high power riding. I would recommend that new owners should put some protective tape on the side of the head tube to protect the paintwork from being rubbed by the rear brake cable as it enters the internal routing. The internal routing has thus far been silent despite what I had read on some reviews.
Drivechain: Campagnolo Chorus 11 speed
I have used gear and brake systems from several manufacturers in the past and this is by far the best I have come across. Shifts have been fast and crisp and the brakes are reliable and responsive. I am amazed that such high specification components can be provided at this price. It is possible to register the Chorus parts on the Campagnolo website for an extra (4th) year of guarantee. The cassette provided is 11-28 which is ideal for climbing and winter training. However, I think a new cassette with closer grouping may be more suitable for racing. I would advise buyers to consider the difficulty of replacing 11 speed chains and research the range of tools required before purchase.
Wheels: Fulcrum Racing 5
I have used these wheels before on my old bike and have found them to be very durable despite their light weight (<1700g). I am a heavy rider and my local road surfaces are far from smooth. Despite this I have only had to true the wheels once in 15000km.
The fizik saddle is comfortable and reasonably light and the handlebars are a good size for me (slightly wider than my old ones). I have not suffered any punctures yet on the Continental tires but have not ridden very far yet."

Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: plastic bar end plugs! should be carbon.
"If like me you have been researching your bikes for months, if not years and would not have dreamed of spending this much money without even seeing the bike, allow me to reassure you. No photo does this bike justice, forget the lack of alternative colours it does'nt need them, the colour scheme supplied is spot on, the wiggle service perfect, packaging first class. The bike arrived with everything set up save for fixing the bars. Half an hour and you are ready to ride and boy what an experience.
I have only been riding for five years and using a fairly entry level aluminium Giant with Shimano Sora triple so this is a huge advance and totally awesome. Most noticeable difference is the weight which translates into eye popping acceleration (still early days but this bike has put an extra 2mph on my average speed over 25 miles) and effortless climbing ability. The Campa Chorus is pure quality and the 11 speed gearing means that I have yet to run out of gearing even down the steepest of inclines at 40+mph!
If you seriously want the best but cannot stretch to the 2500 - 3000 pounds that this level of bike & componentry would cost you from any other retailer / manufacturer then snap one of these rockets up before they are all gone.
I just cannot wait for the Spring and next seasons Sportives to come round and burn up each week with my fellow Hook Norton Lycra Lane Licker CC mates!
Go on do it, you deserve it, a few weeks and the wife will be talking to you again!"

Fully Focused!
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"To anyone who's even considering purchasing a Focus Cayo Expert Campa I would say Do It without hesitation! - assuming your size hasn't sold-out. I am a semi-retired Marathon Runner who has had to ration his running and do more cycling due to an arthritic knee - therefore my bikes have always been an important additional training tool. I was on the verge of ordering a C***ago when a friend who is much more educated in the cycling market than myself suggested that I could get a much higher-spec bike for my budget if I shopped around. He suggested the Cayo Expert SRAM but after a few days of researching the matter for myself I decided on the Campa due to the similarity in gear operation to my previous entry-level G***t OCR1 which is also Campag-equipped. Additionally the on-line reviews I had read suggested that the Cayo Campa's Racing 5 wheels were better than those on the Cayo SRAM. Anyway, the bike arrived within a few days, service/communication & packaging second to none. I spent less than an hour on the minimal assembly required and made one series of set-ups which I have stuck with - easy! Within moments of my first ride I was in no doubt that I had made the right choice. The Cayo Expert Campa feels stiff yet comfortable, climbs and accelerates on a different scale to my previous G***t and magically makes you ride faster without noticing and without seemingly any extra effort! I had previously tackled my hilly 18 mile journey to work a few times on my previous bike so was delighted when I made the same trip six minutes faster on the Focus! The bike itself oozes quality - the Frame is a joy to behold with is combination of generous paintwork, sensible amount/placing of decals and the cleverly exposed areas of raw carbon which change colour according to the light. The Fizik saddle is as comfortable as any I've used and the carbon levers/cranks look amazing and operate with function and no fuss. The Racing 5 wheels are confidence-inducing and look as good in my opinion as other product with a much higher price tag and the spokes have stayed as tight as a drum after just over 200 miles around Buckinghamshire's terribly frost-damaged roads. Conti Grand Prix tyres roll like ball bearings on oily glass and have remained, touchwood puncture-free. The only additions I have made have been Keo Carbon pedals and the after-market Focus Carbon bottle-cage which is a work of art in itself. I don't see myself becoming bored with this bike and cannot wait for the local 10m TT's to start again next April!"

Focus Cayo Experts Campa 2009
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I ordered the Focus Cayo after reading good reviews and seeing the offer on Wiggle.
The bike arrived as expected and was packaged really well. The first thing that struck me was the weight of the bike. It was really light. The finish of the bike is excellent and the components really suited the frame & forks.
I took the bike out for a 60 mile ride in the Peak District. The first climb from home was a breeze. I noticed I could push bigger gears and power transfer was excellent. Further on I tackled a hill climb that was used on many years for national hill climb champs. The bike felt really sturdy as I pushed hard on the pedals out of the saddle on the 20% gradient.
Descending on the bike was awesome. It carved through corners and felt really secure. On the Snake Pass descent I could really push the bike and brake later than I normally would. The overall comfort of the bike was great too. I managed to set the bike up really quick and the continental tyres roll really well.
I have had a bike by a well known Itallian manufacturer and the Focus leaves it standing in terms of quality and feel. I am upgrading the wheels as I have some Campagnolo Shamal ultras. This should finish off an already incredible package nicely."

"Picked up this bike from Customs yesterday after it made the trip from Uk to Perth Australia, I could hardly contain myself. The packages were waiting for me all neatly packed and i was so excited.
The bike had travelled half way around the world and the packaging was superb. I was a little concerned about the trip for the bike but wiggle made sure everything was put together and all I had to do was connect the bars, wheels and off i went.
The bike is very light indeed even in XL size, its responsive and very stiff, accelerating very fast and is also very sure footed. I find myself riding at least a few k's per hour faster as an average and I am not even used to the bike yet, let alone fine tuned it for optimum results.
The campy group set shifts really well, having been used to Shimano I found them a bit tricky at first but over the 1st 50km I gradually learned to love them. The wheels run true and fast and make an awesome noise when coasting. Brakes are strong and inspire confidence in the corners.
Uphills it climbs like a boeing 747, fast and easy I am confident I will leave some of my riding buddies for dead with this bike."

"This bike has been fantastic straight out of the box. It's lightweight (<8kg) and really responds when you put the power down. Componentry is top notch all round and Chorus 11sp is really exceptional with precise shifts every time and superb braking.
Am thoroughly impressed all in all."

Focus Cayo Campag
Pros: Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"Quite simply, this bike flies! Paid 1685 and the 11-sp carbon Chorus gruppo alone is worth 900 or more. Throw in a faultless wheelset and finishing kit and a super stiff and comfy carbon frame (which I'd never had before and was a bit hesitant about at first) and I'm one happy biker! Great deal, great buy. Yours sincerely, the fastest thing between Tooting and Southwark!"

Amazing for the money!!
Pros: Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I had a limited budget and wanted the highest specified bike that I could get. Having trawled various local shops and the internet I settled for the Focus. What a choice! I have been amazed at it. The frame is stiff and loves to climb and sprint, but is comfortable enough for a full days ride. The groupset is better than a bike of this price really deserves and the bike arrived better set up than most of my local bike shops can achieve. I have ridden more expoensive bikes (Look 595, De Rosa Idol) and this bike is virtually as good! A lighter set of wheels is worth an upgrade and different bars and seat post but apart from that it is perfect. I have been really impressed with it."

Great look, great quality, great price, great bike
Pros: Attractive, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I was very nervous about buying a bike I had not sat on or even seen in the flesh, but having looked at numerous bikes in shops, magazines and other web sites I had not found anything with an overall specification as good as this so took the plunge. I am extremely pleased to say that from the moment it arrived this bike has not disappointed. With only a minor bit of assembly (handle bars and peddles), small adjustment of the saddle height followed by a quick safety check the bike was ready to ride. For me the colour scheme looks considerably better than it appeared on the web site with lots of white that gives a very clean appearance and the red and natural carbon adds very nice touches. The carbon frame is much stiffer than my previous steel frame and is obviously much lighter, as a result it feels extremely responsive when I put on the power for a sprint or climb. As you would expect the Campagnolo Chorus kit not only looks fantastic, but it is also very smooth and quite in operation. The wheels, handle bars and saddle nicely compliment everything else on the bike and I genuinely cannot find a single fault. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a racer in this price range."

Off the peg bike and price custom build quality!
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"When I first saw the Focus Cayo Campa 2009 on the Wiggle website I was a little cinical that you could buy an off the peg bike featuring high quality Campagnolo 11 speed componentry with a full carbon frame featuring lightweight German engineering! I was planning on just buying a frame and building a bike myself. Surprised I was when it finally arrived. Great colour scheme, great finishing and great kit, not that you would expect anything less from a 2009 Campag 11 speed chorus groupset. All for £1500 what else could you want. As the description said a great sunday best bike and race bike as well! After a few adjustments i was on the road experiencing great handling, stiffness and versatility. A real headturner when I passed a few other roadies on their standard TCRs!"

Amazing bike for price
Pros: Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, amazing groupset at price
Cons: low drop on handlebars for small frame size
"I bought this bike at a discounted price of £1799. I'd compared similar priced bikes and found this ticked all the boxes for me, as I wanted a Campag groupset, decent wheelset, and a good fit. At 5'7" I seemed to between sizes but I haven't regreted buying the small, as this fits perfectly. The full campag chorous 11 speed groupset looks and performs amazingly. C plus reviewed the groupset earlier this year and said it was the best groupset they have tested. The frame does a good job of smoothing out road buzz, but at the same time is light and stiff . The bike climbs amazingy well and I'm finding that I'm able to climb hills in 2 gears higher than my previous bike. Standing on the pedals it accelerates up hill rewardingly. The fulcrum wheels have remained true and are a level higher than entry level. The whole bike is well put together, and delevered from wiggle with a pedal spanner and allen key set. The bike is fast and handles well around corners.
I have no regrets buying this bike, despite comments such as "you can buy a car for that much". It is an amazing frame with good wheels and a fantastic groupset.
The only slight problem I have is with the bars which have 150mm drop, but droop from the centre so effectively drop a massive 160mm, which on small frame is a little too much. This is more of a personal thing as I'd proably suit 140mm drop with 100mm stem, and any bike would require some sort of tweak to fit perfectly."
