Scicon Elan 210 Saddle bag - 2008

Made from a Cordura® material with a carbon finish this bag adds to the looks of your bike, its simple velcro fitment means you can also switch it from bike to bike in seconds. It measures 120mm in length, 65mm in width and just 28mm in height and weighs in at a svelte 44grams. And it simply looks stunning in both carbon finishes!

Unnoticeable
Pros: Attractive, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"The true test of a bikepart such as this is whether you ever notice it. With the Scicon Elan I have no idea it's even there. Light, rugged and attractive, what more could you ask for."

only the essentials please
Pros: Attractive, Good Fit, Lightweight, no seat post strap, race day essentials
Cons: only for dry days
"Great build quality. Put in co2, inflator, and a lite mtb tube with no problem. May have been able to squeeze in a small multi tool also. Liked that it did not have a seat post strap to rub away on my expensive bibs. Disliked the fact that it is not weather proof. A wet ride resulted in soaked contents. Note to Scicon: look into weatherproof zippers!"

No Nonsense
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Slick delivery from wiggle and the Elan bag is not bad either!
I also have the Scicon Phantom 230 model as well and the strength is not only in its looks, weight and durability of material, but moreover in the simplicity of the Roller System. Simply rotate the bag and it comes away from the Roller attachment which itself remains on the saddle rails, brilliant! There is never any movement or rattle when on the move and it is always held firm, 100% of the time. I recently crashed and smashed my saddle and the roller attachment. An email to the factory near Venice and they could not have been more helpful. Within 7 days I received a new attachment, free of charge, and an invite to the company if I am ever passing! So it looks like my next espresso will be in the North East of Italy!

Not bad..
Pros: Lightweight
"I was able to fit the following (with some difficulty)
1 X tube (in Jiffy bag)
1 X tire lever
1 X CO2 cannister
1 X CO2 inflator with a canister (semi used) attached
1 X tiny bottle of soapy water (about 2cm tall, 1 cm diameter)
1X latex glove
In fairness, life would have been a lot easier if I’d dumped the part used canister and just added the lose inflator. Still, it all fit in and I was able to securely attach the bag to the saddle rails.
One thing to take into account is that the more you stuff in, the shorter the overlap of the velco attaching strap. By that I mean, the strap that wraps around the rails and Velcro’s to the bag shows in the picture as attaching across the full length of the bag, but mine only comes about half way across the bag. That said, although a little worried it might work loose, so far it has stayed secure and held tight against the saddle. In time you might have an issue if you are constantly taking it off and on.
It’s not waterproof but as the ‘carbon effect’ part is plastic it will provide a level of protection. Personally, it does matter to me as I keep the tube in a plastic bag and I don’t need the other items to be dry.
All up, it’s not a bad saddle bag."

Does the job
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
"This is just big enough for a road tube, levers and small multi-tool. It's easy to fit and remove and fits inside the larger saddle bag on my other bike so I don't have to swap tools over. Would be good if it tapered towards the seat post as bib wear is a risk depending on your saddle."

nice small bag
"Just enough room to fit leavers, a multitool and an inner tube - what more do you need on a ride. Keeps out of the way and doesn't hit your legs."

Small and well hidden
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Great for spare tyre, mobile phone and a credit card. Not keen on bags under seat but this goes under and is so close to being fully hidden anyway - quality zips etc and will never fall off!
Perhaps could do with a white model!

should be labelled XXS
Cons: Poor Fit, too small
"I know some reviews say its small but..........! This is fine for one tube and perhaps a mini-tool but nothing else. Dont think (like i did) that you will squeeze anything else in. Its tiny. If thats what you want then go knock yourself out but frankly, for two items, id bin the bag and stick em in your rear pocket. I need more space so this has gone back!"

Surprising what will fit
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I wanted a saddle bag as small as you can get and will strap to the underside of the saddle so that it is more tucked away than the clip on bags. I tried the Continental bag but this was just a fraction too small for what I wanted to carry although not by much, and also was not quite the quality I wanted either.
I took a punt on the Scicon Elan 210 based on other reviews and it was definitely worth it.
I had taken a good look at what I really needed to carry and deliberately set out to get small items.
The bag will fit a Lezyne V10 multitool with chain breaker, a Microflate Nano pump, 2 CO2 canisters, 2 Continental tyre levers, Continental 700c 23mm Racelight inner tube, Park patches, SRAM Power links.
Exactly what I wanted and my seat post mounted rear light is fully visible too.
Spot on!

Minimalist seat pack
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight
Cons: not very waterproof
"Excellent little pack. Very quick to attach/unattach - just wrap the velcro strap round the saddle rails, nothing more. I manage to fit in a 700x28c inner tube, 2 tyre levers and a pouched multi-tool in it - all I need for a blast on the road. Only downside is rain/spray gets in eventually, but I put my kit in a plastic bag inside to counter this."

Just what I was looking for
Pros: Attractive, Good Fit
"This bag is just the right size to hold a tube, tyre levers and my small tool set that I use for racing, where I don't want to carry my large service bag for weight reasons."

Handy Bag
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight
"I was looking for a bag that was neat, looked good, didn't weigh much and could accommodate a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a small multi tool. This bag fits the bill in all respects although it is now full to brimming. The carbon look finishes it off nicely!"

Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight

almost becomes invisible
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality
"Brilliant little bag -
It will hold a spare tube ,
A couple of tyre levers-
And not much else- but if thats all you need to carry ( like me)
it fits the bill spot on .
Plus it almost becomes invisible up under a brooks B17.

"mmmn for what it is - a lot of money - it's a nice enough pouch, fits well and I keep 3 levers, one gas canister and a road inner tube in on my hybrid. Looks the business.. dam expensive though. Also, not water proof"
