Good performance, good value
Pros: Great Value
"Bought it to replace previous SLX that broke after 3 years of use mostly off road. Easy to set up, works with no problems. It does however look somewhat weak construction but it seems to deliver. Get it, trouble free operation"

"A worthy replacement to my last derailleur which started to stick. Had to get new gear cables as this one requires a longer length than before. Pretty smooth gear changes - would recommend as a decent budget derailleur."

good enough, why pay more?

"easy enough to set up and works well once tuned though chain rub is difficult to avoid in at least some gear combinations that aren't unreasonable chain angles. this is mainly the fault of stupid shifters though that don't allow for fine-tuning of the front derailleur position."

"Easy to set up, crisp spot on performance in use, great new design to aid setting up the travel stops, what more could you ask for? Oh and it looks great too!
As for it's durability I can't comment as I've only had it for a few weeks but as I've run Shimano on all my bikes (road and MTB) without any problems, then I can't see this mech letting me down.
This was purchased to replace a worn out LX mech I used to use. This was a great mech when new but has taken a right old bettering over the years. Why didn’t I replace this earlier!"

The SLX derailleur does the job - saw me through a tough Enduro. My home patch is the Chilterns, muddy in winter, and its coping well, even with some neglect during the week."

"This is clearly a well made product, easy to fit and works smoothly and efficiently straightaway. My only concern is that in bottom pull mode, the gear wire doesn't line up with the guide "saddle" that it is threaded over, and looks as though it could slip off.
However, I haven't had any problems but it is early days."

"I needed to replace a cheap factory-fitted c050 (acera) level front derailleur that was pretty much gone after the winter's commute. This was only a few £££ more than the one i was going to replace it with - so no brainer. asy to fit & nice & smooth."
