Pros: Adjustable, High Quality
"As a few people have said, these are more for colder days as they can sweaty above 10'C but that's just a reflection of where waterproof technology is at the moment. If you're looking for waterproofs to keep your pants crisp in monsoon conditions you're deluding yourself. In warm and wet conditions the open shin keeps the air moving to take some of the strain off the material (particularly versus full waterproof trousers.) Below 10'C these really come into their own to keep your bum dry and avoid the wetsanding experience of non-waterproof shorts. If I had to pick fault there are two minor issues - the construction of the fabric means four panels meet at the crotch. It's perfectly comfortable but it means that you can't really put off re-proofing when they start to wear out. The other thing is the 'subtle reflective trim' is so subtle that I can only speculate as to where it is.
In summary: All waterproof gear gets sweaty in warm weather, but these are fantastic cold weather shorts to keep water and grit out on the trails or the harsher conditions of London roads."

Careful with sizing...
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Poor Fit
"As a comfy size 77, I purchased the 'Medium' size, which is supposted to fit 75-82.... BUT, the actual measurement of the medium size is 92cm around the waist!!! I have either recieved a mis-labelled garment (not likely, but possible), or the size chart is wildly inaccurate... Eitherway, I am quite a few dollars down having to send it all the way back from OZ to the UK. Wiggle - please check the sizing on this product!!!
But.. looking at the design, etc, it seems like exactly what i am looking for, so will probably reorder a smaller size (do i go for Small or Extra Small.... that is the question!!). Bring on winter it say!!!"

Thick material and on the small size
Pros: Great Value
Cons: Bulky, Poor Fit
"Fabric seems too thick for the purpose given some of the competition out there. Feels like there would be too much friction and they would impede leg movement a little. May get softer with more use and washing?
Anyway, I returned these pants as they were too small in the thighs at the correct waist measurement.
No issues with the return."

Good shorts- but ordered braces
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Poor Fit
"These shorts are a great product that Altura do make a pair of braces for that I would recommend for anyone who has big thighs/butt and a smaller waist."

altura are good
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"All round good winter shorts, i have to give 5 out of 5 also got some bracer for them umm nice (bracers not sold with shorts).
Been in rain, deep mud, wind, wind and rain, they have stund up to it all, one thing i found they work best with 3/4 leggins, adjustable bottom leg strap may not suit all knee pads more xc then dh."

Sizing?
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Unadjustable, Poor Fit
"great shorts in colder or damp weather, but sizing is a bit on the tight side for baggy shorts! Look at the size you want an go up a size."

Great Shorts
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"I have started Mountain biking and my tutor give a use of his extra shorts for an evening when on the bike, there are so good that I got my own and can't wait to try them out. Very light, easy to use and well they are going to be used a lot more.
Can't wait to back on the bike and see will they keep me dry again."

So far so good
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: balance between breathable and waterproof
"This is the 2nd pair of Altura shorts I've owned. The previous pair eventually came apart at the seams from over (and probabaly inappropriate) use since they were actually so comfortable and practical that I used them for a whole range of outdoor activities apart from cycling.
I've resolved to try to use this pair solely for cycling. So far in a very damp summer I've found them to be most effective. Nice snug fit though not too restrictive. Breathable and airy enough to avoid too much sweating with a pair of cycling shorts underneath, though I imagine they could prove kinda clingy if only worn with a pair of underpants."

"In agreement with other reviewers - good colder wet weather gear, good adjustment, sizing and ability to ventilate.
Sounds like you're wearing a bin liner tho'...but, meh, who cares!

Altura Attack Waterproof 3/4 Shorts
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Poor Fit
"After reading reviews I decided to buy this. Great performance and reasonably priced.
Luckily I read reviews before buying and ended up going for a small size. I'm usually a medium for most other manufacturers but found the small a much better fit for me."

highly recommend
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Only worn them a couple of times on the bike and once hiking and already starting to think I'll never bother with full length waterproofs again. The ventilation is great and I stayed mostly dry in the down pour we had (87mm rain in an hour).
On the negative side, the Velcro on the bottom of the leg is a waste as you wouldn't use it and it bunches up behind the knees when riding. Pockets could be better as they are only mesh lined."

Dual Use
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I am delighted with these, the purchase was prompted after a cold wet Scottish mountain crossing (Nov). when I realised I needed more low core warmth by staying drier. I typically would now wear these when wet/cold with bike undies and run tights.
Sizing was not as per the chart, I am 34/35 waist, 6' and medium is fine, large was way too big. I still have room and adjustment with M for whatever might be worn underneath.
Impressed at the build and material and have discovered that they will be ideal for Summer off bike general use when I want to stay dry without wearing over-trousers."
