Bell Sweep Cycling Helmets 2009

TAG adjusts to your head on two axis's, firstly for head circumference and then horizontally to better accommodate the position of your occipital lobe, (the sticky-out bit on the back of your head!) For extra comfort the TAG arms are co-moulded with soft rubber resulting in the most adjustable, comfortable and easy-to-use fit system ever. Deeply sculpted ventilation channels on the interior of the helmet liner brings cool air in through the front, passes it over the head and flushes warm air out of the rear ports to keep the air moving no matter where you are riding.

The Best Helmet I've Ever Purchased
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, great ventilation
Cons: don't know yet
"I've tried three helmets before and definitely this is the best among all. Ventilation was the biggest concern for me recently because I couldn't help perspiring from my forehead especially when climbing hills with my previous helmets on. Sweat keeps coming into my eyes and it was quite annoying and actually slowed me down quite a bit. (All of my helmets that I bought in the past were not as expensive as this one though)
And here it comes; finally this "pro-racer-version" helmet.
You can tell that the ventilation holes are much bigger than cheaper ones and probably better thought air flow design (or whatever you call it) works pretty fine to me. Consequently I have much less perspiration on my forehead that's really rewarding of the price I paid.
Probably my head size is larger than average but this one (large size) fits fine. And it looks good too. I should have bought it two years ago...

Bell Sweep
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Lightweight, great ventalation
Cons: straps are slightly uncomfortable
"The Sweep has excellent ventilation, main reason for purchase. Once I had received it the additional advantages shone such as the reduced weight from previous helmet, the circumferential adjustment fit is sensational"

Awesome Fit
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"The Bell Sweep is a very lightweight and comfortable helmet. Try in on in-store somewhere ... then buy it from wiggle. SO MUCH CHEAPER here!"

Nice fitting helmet
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Lightweight
"I have an enormous head, so the choice of helmets is limited and the choice of reasonable looking helmets is even smaller. My previous helmet was a Bell, lower in the range and did a good job of protecting my head.
This helmet is stylishly shaped, doesn't make me look too ridiculous (apart from maybe the front view) and the TAG system makes it fit like a glove, it does always feel snug without imposing itself on me. There are plenty of vents and the pads do a good job of keeping the sweat out of my eyes. Will have to wait for winter to see if it is too chilly!
If you have a bigger than normal head I would recommend this, in fact for mist heads I would say this is a good fitting comfortable helmet."

Nearly as good as Bell´s new Volt!
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, Lightweight
"This helmet is nearly as good as Bell´s latest top-end-model Volt. And it´s lighter than the Volt. But the fit in the forehead-area and the pads aren´t excellent compared to the Volt model. But the fit is still very good. But unfortunately the pads are poorly made and don´t last very long. And the helmet isn´t very well protected against everyday wear and tear beacuse of the numerous uncovered foam sections."

Quality, light helmet
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"I bought this helmet about 4 months ago and now use it for all my rides, whether casual, racing or whatever. It is very comfortable, sits perfectly and does not move around at all (once adjusted).
The holes are big and allow for a lot of breeze - my only complaint is that to get the maximum breeze through I have to lean my head downwards...but this is basically a problem with all helmets!
You won't be disappointed."

Good choice
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Lightweight
"Bell's Sweep helmet was my choice after browsing through gazillions of similar helmets mostly for optical reasons. Additionally the fit is just perfect for me and can be well adjusted with the wheel on the back. Adjusting the side straps perfectly needs a bit of patience though.
The ventilation holes are huge, which brings several effects:
i) good ventilation
ii) I can scratch my head through them when itching
iii) Quite frequently bugs get in
iv) Sometimes bugs get out again
Though not showing on the picture here, the helmet comes with a detachable visor. To get it on you first need to remove two little caps that cover the visor-attachment-wholes on the side of the helmets. For that I needed a knife. The visor is supposed to be adjustable to two different angles, and I can see how it should click into the front part of the helmet in its lower position, but in my case it just won't stay down there. But the two positions are not that far apart anyway, so I don't care."

Sweeps away the competition
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, well ventilated
"I've a big head and this fits well. A helmet needs to be light and cool to wear, this is both and was a lot cheaper than the Atmos when I bought mine. Single handed adjustment on the road is a doddle"

one of the best
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
"I've always been fond of Bell for quality and protection since my motorcycling days. Picking a cycling helmet without spending too much has always been a gamble but the marque selection was easy. But what model? Ok, price was a major consideration being on a fixed pension: design (being a poseur even at my age) was important but more so for air flow: lightness and protection essential. Easy choice really - the sweep."
