Beat this!
Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, will run from piggyback cell(s)
Cons: Expensive
"Having purchased an Exposure Lights Enduro Maxx-2 front light back in September, and been highly impressed, I decided to add to the collection with the high intensity rear light. I'm amazed at how much light can be got from one LED. I've not done a scientific test but the output from this - which can only be set to continuous (no strobe option) - has to be comparable to a rear fog light on a car. The unit itself is incredibly compact (about half the size of a "normal" rear LED light. Like the front light it feels very well made and robust. There is a long-ish cable to allow plug in to a front light (Maxx range lights only, I believe) but I also purchased an extra single cell (costs as much as the redeye, but worth having) with which to run the rear light (and to have as a backup for the front light if the need ever arose). With this set up I have the redeye attached to the seat post (I used an existing rear light bracket to get the redeye pointing directly backwards) using the velcro strapping to secure it. The cable runs off into my seat bag which also carries the battery. The battey and most of the cabling is then tucked out of the way for a neater set up. This also means I can use the (purchased separately) remote switch with the front light which is definitely handy when wearing bigger gloves in the winter. If you are looking for quality lights that will last for ages and enable you to be seen from the Moon (probably) then you could do far worse than consider the Exposure Lights range of kit - fantastic!"

Better than the micro

Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"I was very impressed with my purchase of the exposure joystick which I use mounted on my helmet as a "light where I'm looking" for the road commute to work and occasional evening XC MTB forays. For the road, this has the advantage of getting the light up nice and high so people turning out of side-roads can see me coming over other parked cars. I bought the redeye 240 to do the same job from behind. I considered the micro but concluded that the tiny LED would be hard to see and almost pointless.
The 240 is big and bright but doesn't seem to have too much of an adverse effect on the battery life of the main unit (although I haven't timed it - I think USE have some detail on their website).
My only gripe is the velcro fastener it comes with isn't quite long enough for the location I need the light in, only allowing about 1cm overlap at each end. Although, it hasn't come off yet and the cable would keep it attached to me anyway.
I used to have a set of Cateye lights zip-tied to my helmet doing the same job but these got wrecked in a small accident. I don't think I will have the same problem with the joystick or 240 units. Both very rugged with a solid construction. Also extremely light in comparison (saving my neck muscles).
It is expensive, (especially after spending so much on the main unit) but working in harmony with the main unit saves adding another battery etc. and is a very neat, elegant solution. It would have 5 stars all round if packaged as a pair with the main units at a reduced price.

SEEING RED
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Unadjustable
"WONDERFUL THINGS DO COME IN SMALL PACKAGES.
You wouldn't think possible to get as much light out of what is really quite a small lamp, check over your shoulder at the road signs behind you they are well lit, i am given more room at night than in the day thanks to this.
Needs a spacer taping to the seatpost and position lamp half on half off, to give you a horizontal angle. i found cable long enough to wrap around brake cable ends and plug in to front lamp without any tightness and thats on a 54 compact if any help.
If your spending on a good front light don't skimp on the back, you won't regret.
Exposure do not reccommend powering this with a piggyback but if you dont want the cable in the way, a single cell will give you 9 hours.

Clearly Visible
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, highly visible
Cons: does not have it's own power source
"I use this rear light with an Exposure Joystick MaXx 2 Camo Front Light, It gives of plenty of light which is the key thing when on the road.
I commute to work & back 16 miles in all weather and have found this light to be highly visible in the dark and fog. There is however a knack to getting it switched on as it gets its power from the front light.
May present a problem for long night rides as a piggyback battery would take it's power socket.
It has been described by friends as a very bright terminator eye. :-)"

The Brightest Rear Light Ever
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Without question, this product is simply one of the best accessory purchases I have made. I challenge other manufacturers to design and engineer such a simple yet effective component. Very neat, extremely powerful, superbly crafted, simple to use. This ticks all the boxes. All those characteristics are present in Exposure Lights, this just completes the range. I piggy back this light on to my Maxx D. I get about 4 hours of solid, hi beam exposure. Even when the sun has risen, one can still see the rear beam. So impressed was I of the safety and confidence this product offers, I bought one for my girlfriend"

"Brghtest rear light in the peloton! Very well made and looks like it will last for ever. You need to be using an Exposure front light to provide the battery power, but a great combination if you want to see and be seen."

Driver's Red Eye
Pros: High Quality, Lightweight, it is very bright
"What at first sight (in day-light), looks too small to be worth the money, this light comes into its own in the dark.
I have been stopped by 2 car drivers when using this rear light; one at traffic lights and was "told" to turn the intensity down and the other, who was also a cyclist, wanted to know the make and model as he was stunned by the brightness of the light.
This is not a stand alone unit and requires connection to an Exposure front light. This isnt a major problem and in fact offers an easily attachable/detachable lite rear light (velcro band).
It is not cheap but it is robust and well built. I would suggest that it is worth the cost though, if only because you will be confident drivers behind you will have seen your "Lanterne Rouge"."

Brightest back light i've seen
Pros: Attractive, High Quality
Cons: Expensive, wire trails along crossbar
"I wanted a rear light to go with the Exposure Diablo I bought so I went for the companion light. Very well made and velcro strap feels sturdy on the seatpost. It attaches to the main front light using a wire which stretches along the crossbar."

Great purchase
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Fantastic rear light - I've not come across anything on the road as bright as this. I am in Wellington, NZ, right in the middle of winter now! The surety this light gives on busy city roads is fantastic. I must also add that Wiggle's delivery to NZ was faultless - the light arrived within one week of despatch. Very happy and would highly recommend."

Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, bright!
"I love the compact nature of this add-on. I'm using it with the Diablo. The Redeye is quick to position, more than bright enough for the country lanes I use, and very well designed. It could hardly be lighter or brighter. Excellent."

Excellent for winter commutes
Pros: Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Good Fit, very bright
Cons: Expensive, Not Enough Features
"I got this to use with my strada and joystick lights for commuting. It is increadbly bright and you certanly get noticed by other veichles. Is it good value for money? I use a Smart 1/2 watt light as well and if you only wanted 1 rear light the Smart is nearly as bright and cheeper. The redeye does not flash and there is a significant reduction in battery life of the main light."

Does the job
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: Not Enough Features, Unadjustable
"I bought the Exposure Joystick MaXx 2 front light and as the rear light was discounted I took that also.
It is a good quality rear light and is bright enough.
My only reservations are that it fits to the seat post and has no adjustment. So it does not actually point straight down the road without some sort of padding under it. Also I think a flashing mode would be advantageous. I use it in conjunction with a cheaper light that does flash. I just feel that drivers notice the flashing more readily than a constant light."

Superbright rear light
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: Unadjustable
"This really is the brightest rear light I have ever seen. You fit it to the seat post with cable ties and the power cable plugs into your Exposure front light.
Not sure if I like the cable trailing along the frame but a few more cable ties keeps it safely tucked away.
Only gripe is that you cannot adjust the vertical beam direction very easily. I had to use a rubber wedge between the back of the light and the post to direct it slightly below horrizontal. Otherwise it would have been pointing at the floor like neon boy racer style."

Best rear light accessory you can get
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"I have this and a joystick on my bike helmet. It pretty much guarantees that you will not be missed. Coupled with a standard rear light on the bike it says "I AM HERE" to every car on the road. Without a doubt the brightest rear light in the world!"
