Assos Airjack 851
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"This is truly the exact jacket I was looking for. I live in the US in the Northeast. We have cools Autumns and very cold winters. This is an excellent jacket built to withstand wind and cold weather down to 35 degrees. I have found this jacket to be extremely versatile thus far.
I have ridden with just one base layer underneath, or a couple and I have found the jacket to be an excellent choice. I am 5.10 tall and about 175lbs. The large fits like a glove. When you conform to the 'aero" position on your bike the jacket will adjust to you in a perfect way. The 3-pockets with the additional 4th zipper pocket is great for food, cell phone, supplies, etc.
Be mindful that this jacket is meant to fit tight. If you want something slightly looser, go at least one size up from you may think will fit. It is very important to know that this jacket is meant to fit in a snug way, and may be uncomfortable if you are in the process of losing those holiday pounds. I consider this to be my number 1 choice this fall and early winter. I also think it will be great for the early spring.
Thanks so much wiggle. It was great doing business with you, and I can't wait to tell my teammates how fast you got you order across the Atlantic to my home in the states."

Pricey, but worth it
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"amazing jacket that manages to be very warm, whilst never being too warm. This and a single base layer does from -2 to 10 degrees. Worth every penny despite being so expensive."

Assos AirJack 851 Limited Windproof Jacket
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
"Quality product, as with all ASSOS costs more but you know you are getting a quality product. Good price due to discount as this range has been finished. Being replaced by a considerably more expensive alternative."

Very disappointed
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Low Quality
"I am very disappointed with this product. I was looking for a replacement for my altura wind proof jacket I have used for 5 years. The altura was getting a bit frayed but still does the job and I had heard lots about Assos wind blocking capabilities. Having bought this is putting me off every buying assos again. The fabric started pilling on the first ride and the zip is very flimsy and the teeth keep disengaging, I have only worn it a few times."

No defrauda
Pros: Cómodo, Alta calidad, Ligereza
Cons: Caro

Pros: Attractive, High Quality
Cons: press button at throat
"while the overall fit and quality is great I had to send it back because it has a press button at the throat which makes breathing difficult if not impossible. that is an absolute showstopper for me."

Simply the best...
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"This is a superb bit of kit and outperforms all my other winter jerseys. Beautifully made and designed. An athletic fit, so in the real world snug around the middle and good around the shoulders. Figure-wise, unforgiving. A bit "village people" when new, looks best after a few washes. Perfect, well thought out ergonomics, pockets are spot-on. Expensive up front cost but good value over the longer term."

Wonderful
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit, good visibility
"1st word of warning, this is a snug garment. I have a 40" chest and went for XL, despite size L being listed as my size. Just was well that I went a size up as the XL is still snug around my torso, although you don't notice this once on the bike. But I use this for MTB/Freeride so I'm not always lent over the bars ! I have a 16" neck and you wouldn't want the collar any more snug. Anyhow, quality is exceptional. Every single aspect is well designed and made (in Europe thankfully) from amazing materials. The Piton is actually more like lime green, and not the 'grass' green as shown in the photo. This makes it better for visibility although I was hoping for the darker green. It's so comfy that I slept in it a few times while on holiday. Thanks to Wiggle for shipping it to the Alps in time for Christmas. I used it for snowy MTB rides, temp about 3°C and I was only wearing a thermal base layer underneath. I love the big pockets and rear reflector. The metal Assos pop-stud is just gorgeous. This is my favourite bike garment now, and I already have loads of Assos, Castelli, Gore, Santini, Lusso, Endura etc.."

You get what you pay for
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
"I've worn this four or five times now, from -1 to 10 degrees with different baselayers/jerseys underneath. It keeps the wind off a treat and lets you breath more than other tops and I definitely fall into the sweaty rider category.
The fit is tight, as with all Assos kit I've gone a size bigger."

The very best jacket for the very worst weather
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit, technically supreme
Cons: Expensive
"After six rides in a gruesome mix of truly awful northern English winter weather (sleet, snow, foul rain and biting winds) this jacket has more than exceeded my expectations on every front. Like all Assos clothing the full benefit of the outstanding cut and engineering only really comes to life when you get into the cycling position on your bike. The technology behind the different fabrics is awesome – the whole thing keeps you warm and dry and at the right temperature at every stage of the journey. The rear pocket positioning (the pockets come half way round the side of the jacket) and the small touches like a place for a mobile phone make this a class act. Chose their apple green as it’s different from the usual high viz yellows and orange on most run of the mill cycling gear. A truly exceptional garment that now completes my 6 piece Assos wardrobe – tights, shorts, jersey, socks and overshoes. The trouble is, once you up-scale to Assos it’s hard to go anywhere else. And investing in these items takes time – 5 years in my case. However, this latest investment continues to prove they are worth every penny."

Great jacket
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
"I wear this jacket on the cold winter mornings in Sydney's western suburbs. I only wear a single long sleeve base layer undermneath and arm warmers. I do not have a problem with a cold torso. I have 3 other jackets and this is by far and above the best and warmest. I got the yellow one for visibility and it is comfortable and attractive. I am an older rider with a bit of a tummy and the jacket is a little tight there but once on, this is not a problem. The sizing chart is good for those younger slender road rider types. This is typical for a lot of bike wear so get used to it. Overall I would classify this jacket as a necessary part of your winter cycling wardrobe."
