Best turbo tyre I've found

"Not only was this tyre significantly cheaper than any other turbo tyre I could find it also performers brilliantly. I was prepared to accept a poorer performance given the price but have been amazed - its lasting well (I have used my turbo most days during the past snowy weather rather than risk broken bones) and is quiet. I like things on my bike to match and for it to look good at all times, the red matches the white/black/red frame and also the red front tyre. Brilliant all round - literally!"

Spin to your hearts content

"Prior to buying this turbo specific tyre I was using continental 4 seasons, which worked well enough. However, they are expensive and should really be put to good use outside in this super british winter ;-)
I looked at the conti turbo tyre (yellow) and this one from vittoria. The smaller price tag persuaded me in the end.
Riding on the turbo is no different, but this tyre does run smoothly and makes a bit less noise. Now this doesn't really bother me, as I don't hear anything other than Led Zeppelin on the iPod, but it is of benefit to those not on the turbo!
Getting the vittoria zaffiro pro home trainer tyre and a second (inexpensive) rear wheel has enabled me to just swop out the wheel when I want to spin, rather than having to change tyre each time."

"use this on an expensive elite elastogel trainer. still get the annoying blobs of rubber everywhere after 4months of using a few times a week its pretty much worn out.

Worked fine for a month or so, then . . .

"After seemingly perfect for about a month of turbo training, I started noticing tiny red specks all overs my bike frame and wall. The tyre is slowly being shredded by the turbo trainer - not something I'd expect from a tyre designed for such a purpose.
I have tried altering the tyre height setting on the trainer to vary the resistance being placed on the tyre by the trainer, but it didn't make any difference.
I'd recommend looking for an alternative tyre. Maybe just the one I received is defective?"

Odd ribbing on the tyre

"Rather than a slick surface, this tyre has ribbs along the tyre. Consequently, my trainer was left with very small strips melted onto the friction drum. They went after further rides/TT sessions. Not a real problem just odd design.

"I had read reviews on turbo trainers to replace the tyre otherwise it will shred the one on the bike. I looked at quite a few reviews, although wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to be looking for, but this seemed to have some good reviews. I had a friend swap the tyre over and although I've only used it a few times it seems fine. And for the reasonable price it was I'm very happy with it"

No surprises
"I was quite concerned when I started using this item because it shed some of its tread which ended up on the wall behind the bike. However while it still loses some tread it is so slight as to be acceptable and it certainly does not get as hot as the last tyre I had on the bike. I think it will last a good deal of time and was a worthwhile purchase.
Oh, it was a bugger to fit but once on it was fine."

Trainer tyres are a necessity!

"If you are going to use a turbo trainer you really should use a specific tyre. If you try using a normal tyre you will just end up trashing it really quickly.
This tyre has worked perfectly. It has lasted through more than 100 hours on the turbo and still looks in perfect condition - no signs of wear. It is a bit quieter than using a normal tyre as well, which is a bonus (especially as far as the neighnours are concerned)"
