hope V2 brakeset
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Bulky
"I wanted the best brake i could get for a heavy rider. I'm 110kg. I have raced DH in the past but now stick to aggressive trail riding where I seek the downs where possible. My options were formula the ones, hope M4, or these V2s. I opted for these over the 4 pots due to a bit more powere with minimal weight difference, and the ppreference for simplicity. more pistons = more chance of drag etc. The formulas while sounding sensational, were just oo pricey, plus I have always enjoyed hopes sound solid engineered approach. These brakes are great, and I'm super happy with my choice. Massively powerful yet surprisingly gentle to modulate. (I had avid codes prior). easy 1 finger stops. The levers are a little bulky in the clamp area, and since they are flip/flop, they do not have a higher offset to allow sram x0 shifters to snug under as nice as some. I run brakes inside shifters since I like to only grip the lever tip, and have found it setup nice on the bar. full 5 stars. Not sure if the vented rotor (i got std rotors) is needed as it adds weight, and the power is fine as is. good job hope.
get the bleed kit too, its a doddle then.

Possibly overkill but fantastic
Pros: Rugged, Adjustable
"Like the feel of these brakes - very predictable, easy to fit and adjust. Haven't noticed any fading on long alpine descents so all good there - control with one finger just as easily at end of run as at start.
Have one with a vented rotor and one without. Can't honestly say I have noticed that much difference between in terms of fade but running on different wheels so never directly compared.
Slight issues with mounting levers - had to do some fiddling so they didn't foul shifters."

Hope Tech V2 Disc Brake
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit, tech support & spares
Cons: Expensive
"I've owned hope brakes in the past (mini, m4) but these are by far the best hope brakes I've used.
I chose the Moto V's on recommendation of friends and taking into account serviceability and availability of spares.
Front brake was fitted straight out of the box. The rear hose was shortened, threaded through cable guides and the brake re-bled. A very easy process (just be patient). Check the hope website for links to really useful instructional videos.
They had a short ride at home to bed the pads in a bit but the first proper run out with the V2's was the Pleney DH in Morzine - brilliant performance straight out the box with standard pads. Then single finger braking all week without any squeal or noticeable brake fade. The pads still have plenty of life in them after a week of alpine riding.
I'd highly recommend these brakes, they are the first brakes I've owned that I could adjust perfectly for reach and bite point for single finger braking.
Fitted to a 6" travel patriot. Moto V2 205mm / 180mm, braided hose and floating rotors"

fade free strong braking
Pros: Adjustable
"used this brake for 6 months now in u.k and the alps.consistent quiet and strong braking, pads seem to last well, adjustments on the lever are easy and make a difference in feel and reack, unlike other brakes i have used.they are heavier than other brakes, but are also more powerful"

Outstanding performance
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"The moment you take these brakes out of the box they ooooze handbuilt quality. From the beautiful machining to the bleeding of the system at the factory they are nothing but the best. For a brake with only 2 pistons these things are hugely powerful and don't suffer from fade on even the longest descents."

Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable
"Having ridden several sets of Hope brakes over the years, I had high expectations of these power-stoppers... I wasn't disappointed!
They look fabulous and stop on a dime - the only limiting factor seems to be the grip of your tyres on the trail. It is noticably more powerful than anything I've previously rideen from the Hope stable and paired with the Tech 4 on the front, your confidence to stop when you need is assured regardless of the conditions.
The levers feel comfortable with a great bite and customisable reach - I can't recommend these enough. Well done Hope!"

Hope V2
"A little heavy, but phenomenal brakes. Super strong, fade-free, excellent modulation. These brakes change the way you ride downhills as they allow for controlled HARD late braking in a way that other brakes do not. The Formula the Ones were at the top of my list for great brakes until these came along."

Great Brakes
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"As always with Hope fantastic build quality, The new Tech lever is as goos as it gets with adjustment for reach and bite point, which actually work(unlike the previous Moto lever). I`m running a V2 caliper on the front and an M4 on the rear and I`ve had no problems, great modulation and power. I`ve run them on fast welsh single track and steep road downhills with no sign of fade. Can`t fault them, highly recommended."

Super sexy stoppers
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"I purchased the 203mm version front and rear. My bike now stops on a dime or whatever small coins you have over there. The modulation is spot on. You can slow down a little or put yourself over the bars with 1 finger. Easy to set up. Easy to bleed."

Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, High Quality
"Very powerful brakes and one set of pads lasted full week in the Alps. Fitting relatively straightforward - worth making sure the calipers are correctly alligned. Do not position brake levers in "usual" place on bars - they sit best quite a long way in board of the shifters but when properly placed they are excellent for one finger operation. Loads of easy adjustment of both bite point and reach."

Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Bulky, Limited Color Choices
"Perfect modulation with enough stopping power for 83kg rider (front brake, 183mm disc). The workmanship is the highest quality and looks cool too. The bleeding is easy (if necessary) like on all Hope brakes. I only hate the postmount setup (in general) because it's tricky to set the caliper to be parallel with the disc. Rotors look a bit robust on the trail/all-mountain bike."
