Pros: move between gps receivers
Cons: can't use in basecamp
"These are great maps, however after I have made this purchase I have discovered that by getting the maps on MicroSD card I can not use them in 'My Collection' within Garmin's BaseCamp software. This means that if I lose the MicroSD card I will have lost the maps forever. However, if you have a couple of Garmin GPS receivers and want to move the maps between them, then this is the product for you."
