"Was a bit dubious about the Halo skewers.....how could a product so cheap be any good?. My fears were unfounded, these are a worthy addition to any bike. In the past i owned a similar product, but the skewers were made of titanium and the hex head gave out. I doubt you could 'round out' the hex head on the halo's however!!.
Do not worry about positioning the security tab, it's a doddle. Quick release skewers were invented to make wheel/tyre/tube changes speedy. Do you really need that? and everyone carrys a 5mm allen key don't they?"

"普通のQRだと簡単に外せますが これは六角レンチが無ければ外せません そういう意味では盗難防止にはなるかと思いますが 盗む気がある輩は 道具を持ち歩いているので そういう意味では どうかな？って感じですね まぁ 気休めにはなりますし そもそも私の目的は 安く軽量化したいってのが第一でしたので その点では合格ですね ちなみに重量は前後のワンペアで６６gでした"

"Once in a while you come across an item you wish you'd invented yourself, and for me this is one of them. The skewers are simplicity itself to fit, using an Allen key. For my application they replaced a pair of ugly and surely outdated singlespeed track nuts. Normally these had to be done up extremely tightly to prevent wheel movement under heavy load, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover just how tightly I could do up the Halos without any feeling of impending breakage. They include etched grip edges which grab the frame dropouts like limpets so there is little chance of slippage anyway. I would heartily recommend these as an upgrade to any singlespeeders or speciality bike riders. Oh, they also look great!"

Good quality but a little short.

"first of all they feel really good, nice weight hopefully means the are strong and the colour looks excellent, but the only problem i have is that there is just over 1cm of thread on the skewer but when i put it through my wheel i can only screw it up i can use only 3-4mm of thread , i'm sure this is sufficient but i'd rather have to much then to little."

Security skewers
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Good Fit
"I bought 2 sets of these skewers for the 2 bikes I have. They were very easy to fit and setup, once sprayed with lithium grease, the instructions are easy to follow and make a point of warning you that tightening the front skewer is important. After all if that front skewer drops out the front wheel will disconnect and pitch the rider onto the road.
In terms of security I don't know if I would say they are that secure but I think they would extend the amount of time reqd to steal the wheel. I admit they remove the QR skewer which is a plus forcing the potential thief to carry a hex key to undo the skewer, but this hex key is a standard size so any cheap bike tool is carrying a suitable key. I work as an IT technician and know that security hex keys exist where the barrel of the key is hollow while the hex recess in the skewer head has a pin in the middle of it preventing the use of a normal hex key.
The tail cap has a 'tongue' that sits in the dropout, so properly in place the use of mole grips wouldn't work as the cap is prevented from turning.
I had 2 sets of the red skwers and they look good on both bikes. In my cases the skewers are the perfect length so didn't require any shortening but where the skewer is too long they need to be cut to prevent a protruding end."

"I needed to replace a bent rear QR skewer, so I decided to go for these ones to retain the quick release convenience but make it slightly harder for malicious parties to tamper with my wheels.
The skewers appear to be well-made and durable (I've only had them on the bike for about a week, so it's too early to tell for sure) and were quite easy to fit, although the instructions were not brilliant.
Although they were available in an exciting range of colours, I decided to go for plain ol' black, to fit with the colour scheme of my bike."

"Got these for my Cannondale cross bike that I use for commuting. Overall am pleased - they are lightweight, easy to fit, the perfect length for my bike (i.e. no sawing off any excess), they look good and they were a great price.
When fitting them I torqued them in and the only negative I have is when I decided to check them after a week (circa 100 miles) the front one was considerably under it's original torque (the back one was still spot on). I hope this is nothing that a little Loctite can't fix."

"I ordered these (6mm Road White) to use my QR front wheel on the track. The front one did the job perfectly as it fits 100mm spacing. It has a little notch allowing to fit the skewer with only one allen key, which is pretty handy.
The quality is great, the price is excellent (£8.35) so I highly recommend these if you want to turn a QR wheel into a track wheel."
