Great saddle bag if you have lots of gear.
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Versatile
"Just got back from my first test ride with this bag, loaded up with jeans, heavy hiking boots, tools and a couple of bike locks. Couldn't even notice the bag on the bike even when climbing out of the saddle !! Quality is excellent, fix the often mentioned problem of the exposed bolts on the inside of the bag by undoing them and reversing them so that the allen key heads are inside the bag. A great purchase That will see many years of use. Thanks wiggle."

Ideal commuting bag that does not need a rack
Pros: Durable, Rugged, Versatile
"I was looking for an alternative to a rucksack for my 30 minute commute but did not want to put a rack on the bike. This bag seemed to offer the ideal solution and I have been pleased with my choice. The bag is very quick and easy to attach and detach from the seatpost bracket that stays on the bike. It is a good size and I can get enough in there for the daily commute, which stays dry even in the wettest weather.
A couple of things that would improve it are the exposed screw heads inside which are a bit untidy but easily taped over. Due to the bracket on the bag it does not stand up when put on the ground also it could do with a better attachment for a rear light.
All told though it is a good product and only really noticable if fully loaded and you are out of the saddle.

Worth the long wait
"I ordered this on the second half of August and got them sometime in November.
I love this bag because it saves me from having to fit a rack and panniers for commutes. I use my bike for exercise (I even ran a triatlon with it) and wanted an alternative to fitting a rack that I would want to remove before eash and every training session.
I use it for commuting, and some trips like for my basketball games and to go to a climbing wall. You can fit easily a change of clothes, a waterproof jacket, occasionally my climbing shoes, some tools and locks and still have room.
Build quality is really solid. The quality is such that even with some minor complaints, I give this bag 5 stars.
The complaints I talk about: the strip for the back light won't hold a light upright, as it is too narrow and the light twists. I would have liked a shoulder strap included, but there are rings to attach one. The far end/bottom of the bag is not straight, sometimes fitting stuff in there is awkward. I also wish that the screw ends and the nuts in the inside had been fitted with caps.
On the plus side you get a spacious bag, with a good fitting system for the seat post. The SQR bracket is simple and clever, not a complex piece of technology and marketing. It looks sturdy. The bag is waterproof, and it has got a reinforcement to serve as a mudguard."

Great commuter / tourer option
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"I bought this to go on an older commuter that didn't support a rack and to see what it was like on a folder that I use, on occasion, for touring.
It works really well and is quite robust.
Waterproofing is sufficient to deal with a recent deluge on a short ride home. And I have confidence that longer wet rides will be ok.
The spray guard idea works. And keeps dirt sprayed up from penetrating the fabric.
It feels strong and there is minimal, if any, movement when riding.
The bag bracket is actually fixed to the bag. Probably ok in most applications but a consideration for packing to fly. Bag has a rigid shape - good when on the bike but I'm hoping that it doesn't get damaged in a flight transit.
Bolt heads are exposed inside the bag and I will attempt to cover those.
Had to get outsize clamps for the folder's seat post (option not on Wiggle) from Carradice. They were fantastic. Generous and rapid service.

Great Product
"This is an excellent compact light alternative to panniers, I used this pack on a two week tour and it was more than adequate and managed to keep all my clothes dry. As it is made by a small company and is in high demand there may not always be stock but plan ahead of your trip and a months wait is a small price to pay."

Better than a backpack
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, useable
"After many years of using cycling specific backpacks it was with trepidation I ordered this bag. It was a good choice, it has been such a joy to be without a backpack in the warm weather. It easily holds all I need for work - shoes, uniform, diary, some paperwork (A4 size) and a waterproof jacket and trousers. However it also limits what I carry and saves me from lugging too much around - it has been nice to have to travel a little lighter.
The ride is different, the bike is fractionally heavier to move around, but this gives a solid ride feel and the disadvantages of extra bike weight are well compensated for by freeing up your shoulders.
Yet to have any real rain to test it's waterproof-ness, but confident given it's Carradice branding that it'll cope well.
Simple enough to fit, very solid once attached, the SQR fitting looks very secure and there is no ride noise or rattling that I have previously had with cheaper frame attached bags.
Overall a great addition and a real joy to be free of the backpack!!

Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit, unique!
"Ive cycled on my trek oclv 7kg race bike using a Carradice Slim as my main luggage storage from Seattle to LA, Singapore-Bangkok and Adelaide to Cairns. I HIGHLY rate it as a great summer long distance touring option. I have it on a cheap trek now and my sworks epic sometimes.
I use a bob trailer for heavier, colder tours but the slim is the way to go I reckon if you want uber light weight. I just packed it with a gore tex bivvy and a sleeping bag on top and tied it all down with some old road tubes. I ran an easton ec90carbon post and had no problems but would advise a strong alloy post for ease of use."

great bag
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile, Good Fit
"This bag is excellant easily removable just enough storage to carry clothes for a night away in a B&B which is what i bought it for and i've also ended up using it all the time on my daily commute. Only issues i have are i've seen a bit of dampness inside the bag in extreme weather conditions and i'd like another clamp for the bag so i can have a clamp on both bikes and Carradice haven't bothered to reply to my mail when i asked where i could get one."

Perfect for commuting
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Versatile, waterproof
"My commute is just under 30 miles each way on a road bike. So panniers are out and I hate using a rucksack except for around town.
For me this has to be the perfect solution for commuting. Takes A4, big enough to pack shirt, lunch, jacket, tools, etc with some space over for when needed.
Clips and unclips in a trice, stable, waterproof and built to last (and then some). Also acts as a rear mudguard.
Can't fault it really for what I use it for.
I fitted an alloy post instead of carbon - people say you can fit the SQR bracket on a carbon post but I preferred to be over-cautious."

not pretty, but does the job well
Pros: practical
"after trying various bags and pouches, none of which had enough space and all of which were a hassle to demount/remount (or risk losing stuff to theft), I saw these Carradice SQR bags.
I chose the 'slim' model as it is wide enough to fit folded shirt, trousers etc. for the office without scrunching them up, with room for some shopping on the way home, and the multitool, spare tube, pump, bike lock etc. stashed in the bottom.
there's an internal pouch for keys/whatever, but no external pockets which is a shame.
unclips fast, so easy to remove for security when parked, and when not in use there's just the clamp on the saddlepost rather than the clutter of a rack.
apparently it also acts as a mudguard, haven't been in the rain with it yet, but as I haven't got any mudguards this could be an unexpected bit of luxury.
the way the end cover works needs a little care to make sure nothing inside can find its way out - with no suspension the contents get every bump and hole in the road fed straight through, no way I'd ever put anything delicate in there!
inside, the ends of the bolts that hold on the mounting rails are exposed, ready to gouge fingers if you try to rummage around, so I'll be fitting some kind of rubber caps on these.
there is an accessory kit to turn it into a backpack which seems overkill for the size and looks fiddly to use, but I wish they'd just included a simple shoulder strap that could be stashed under the lid when on the bike.
its not big enough for serious load carrying, but ideal for daily use and even for a few days of lightweight touring.
overall it's the best solution I've found for everyday use, wish I'd discovered it before wasting money on other bags."
