Made in Britain
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"Precious little is made in Britain these days, especially things to do with cycling. Carradice Super C bags exude quality and demonstrate that we are still capable of manufacturing quality stuff at a reasonable price.
The Super C panniers I bought ten years ago are still in use after about 30,000 miles and two crashes. The Bar Bag looks like it will do the same, hopefully without the crash testing.
Other bags may be cheaper, but are they as good as this and made in Britain?"

Great Bar Bag
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Versatile
"I bought this from Wiggle for my wife, basically to replace her existing bag which leaked like a sieve in the rain. I purchased it on the basis of my own experience, having owned one for about 3 years. The bag is very durable and rain proof. I've toured with mine quite a bit and it has never let the weather in to harm my bag contents. You need to keep the map case on as it helps to keep the top dry but also the elasticated retaining strap flaps noisily if you remove it. The side pockets are really handy for hex keys, suncream etc. The case is nice and stiff and has plenty of room, but you should not overload it (weight-wise) because it can affect steering. Tried the under bag light fixing once but found the light beam bounced all over the place, so never used it again."

Great bag
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"This is a fantastic product, that fits my GT Transeo Ultra really well. The bag was easy to fit, has a great attachment with plenty of adjustment, and it holds heaps.
I really liked the fact that my bag was signed inside on the tag by the person who made it. Thanks Maggie."

great bit of kit
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile, Good Fit
"First off be aware, all bar bags will interfere with your gear cables if the cables exit the sti levers at the side. If the cables are hidden under your bar tape you will be fine. I have bar end shifters and this bag is a perfect fit. Dead easy to fit, although as with any bag it restricts space on the bars - my computer and lights have had to be relocated. There is a light bar which has a nifty half turn to remove and is good, but my light doesn't fit too well, I will probably relocate to the front fork leg..old stylee!
The bag.... It is well made and carradice have a fantastic reputation (as I'm sure you know) and they have great customer service for repairs etc. Not that I will be expecting to need them for many years to come. Three pockets inside - one zipped, look after all the little bits and bobs while the main part is roomy for binoculars, mobile, snacks etc It has two mesh pockets either side which would be handy for things that you might need regular access to on your trip. The shoulder strap is handy and with just one button to press, you can instantly take your valuables with you. The map pouch is thick and seems to be very robust. The way it folds means that the map is easily accessible (to move about/turn over) and seems to stop the water from getting in, although I've not been caught in a proper deluge yet. I've had a bit of a problem getting an OS map to fit quite how I would like, but thats just me being really picky :)
I'm really impressed with the bag. Buy it!

Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: a little heavy
"This is probably the most complex Super C bag yet it's really simple and logical. the mounting system is the best and easiest I've ever used. This bar bag is the apex of what a touring bar bag should be like. It is a bit heavy though."

Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Good Fit
"As handlebar bag this excellant. I am really happy with it, it was really easy to fit (in about 5 mins) and provides lots of internal and external pockets to store all those bits and pieces.
Initially had to be careful when putting the box on to make sure the brake cables are out of the way and did not get trapped, but after a few times removing it and clipping it back on the bike this is not a problem.
Just a shame there is not a lockable clip system for this, not a major thing but would be a good option."

Great for Touring/Randonneuring
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, Good Fit
Cons: Unattractive
"This is the only suitable handlebar bag in similar size that can fit with my small bike frame (shorter headtube length) due to its height and the position of Klickfix adapter. My handlebar width is 38 cm (c-c on the drop) and it's the minimum handlebar width for using this bag.
The package Wiggle sent includes the clamps for standard and oversize handlebar, saving me trouble to order additional set for my road bike. The installation manual from Carradice is kind of concise, but you can get the more detailed instruction from Rixen & Kaul (Klickfix) site.
Inside the bag it has one zip pocket and two size pocket. Another two side pockets outside. Plenty space to put some small stuffs. It also includes a shoulder strap for off-bike use and a detachable light bracket (very handy).
Note that the other reviewer said it's poor fit. In fact it depends on how the cables (brake & shifter) are fixed in your bike. For those whose shifter cables come out from the inside of the hoods, it's more difficult to fit this handlebar to your bike. But that's the same for similar handlebar bags. It's not Carradice's problem. Rixen & Kaul has designed some distance sets to solve this problem. However, it is still possible to install this (like nittygritter's review). For the bikes whose cables are routed along the handlebar, there should be no problem for the installation."

all is not as it appears
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Poor Fit
"I ordered this bag believing that it was suitable for a road bike. I planned to use it for touring especially with the top map feature. The diagram illustrates the bag on a road bike handle bar. The reviews stated that it was tight but a good fit for a road bike. However I found that it really is not suitable at all. After receiving it, I found there simply isn't enough clearance for the cables to function. The bag sits up against the handlebar entry point of the cable, quite unlike the illustration depicts! LOOKS GOOD but is UNSUITABLE FOR ROADBIKES! (Carradice what were you thinking???) Very disappointed!"

You can ask Carradice about your fitting problem. Depending on the cable position, it may need some adapter to avoid cable positions (such as distance set).
Another important thing is to fix the patented security cable correctly under your stem as shown in the instruction manual. Only this cable carries the load. The 4 clamp-screws have no supporting function and should only be fastened to average tightness. (from R&K FAQ)

Good functionality let down by quality
Pros: Good Fit, Rugged, squeezes between sti's
Cons: Poor Quality
"I ordered this bag to use on a touring bike with STI changers as I had read that it would fit without interfering with the cable routes too much. In fairness it just about fitted ok and although the cables are displaced slightly the gear function still works fine. The size is good and map bag seems good quality. However, I had to return the first one of these as the mounting was not actually in the centre of the bag which did mean it did clash with the STI cable route too much. The second one had the mount in the centre but I was more critical this time and noticed that the reflective strip on the front of the bag was slightly wonky. Not the end of the world but slightly annoying given that it is not the cheapest bag. Overall slightly dissappointed, but had the first bag had a centred mount and a straight reflective strip I would have rated it much higher."
