Buy it before you need it.
"I bought this after coming off my bike and injuring my spine. Having had an accident I can't help thinking whether I would have injured my spine at all if I had of been wearing my vest. The foam is nice and wide. I never thought of getting a spine protection vest before my accident. I can only repeat what is in the product description: "The most common advice with body armour is to buy it 'before' you 'need' it, rather than 'after' you 'needed' it.""
