Easy hill work with these beauties
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Lightweight
"I bought these to help with some serious hill work that I'm in training for. Coupled with an 11-25 rear cassette they are fantastic, can't say I've noticed a difference going down from a full size 53/39 crank. Ultra smooth pedalling action and they look good as well. They haven't let me down at all and I'm even wondering about keeping them on all the time instead of my 53/39 set."

"These cranks were purchased to replace a set that had a pedal seized inside the cranks. The compact cranks are definitely easier for a hilly course and I always use them when I know I am going mountain climbing, as in a course full of hills that I would struggle on with my standard gearing of 53/39."

Excellant
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile, shifts well
"I bought this to replace a 53/39 full sized double. Loved the 53 part, hated the 39 part. Climbing hills was once again a real pain. Now, I enjoy the hills again, thanks to my decision to switch to a compact. I found that when spun out....there was a two mph difference. I suppose it would make a difference to a racer, but not much to a 68 year old man. I replaced a FSA Carbon-lite crank with this one.... the Shimano was a tad lighter, and shifts much better. I think it looks better on the bike too, but appearance is a matter of personal taste."

Great crankset
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"I'm an older rider, and do not use the large chain wheel on my older Ultegra 53-39 crankset. The new 6750 compact double chainset not only gives me more flexibility, but shifts more quickly and smoothly. Well worth the investment, and as good as the Dura-Ace but for a few grams that only racers might miss."

Lovely compact
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I bought this compact to replace my existing 53/59 105 chainset in preparation for very hilly spring sportive riding. I also replaced the 9-speed ultegra 12-27 cassette and chain at the same time. While any change of ratio takes some getting used to this setup works very well - after several hundred miles and a few races in the hills it's proved to be a great choice. Ultegra gear isn't the cheapest but is very smooth in all conditions, lightweight and really hardwearing without paying real top end prices. It looks really nice on the bike too - quality stuff."
