DHB R1 Road Cycling Shoe
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: takes a while to get used to riding slowly with a, foot unclipped (stopping starting)
"The shoes are very good value, being easily adjustable, attractive - in a choice of three colour combinations (I bought the red/silver/white option) - and well made. They have a padded tongue which adds to their comfort. The tongue is held at both sides by wide, elasticated bands. They have a choice of cleat fixings which I cannot describe fully since I am only familiar with the one I've always used - Shimano 2-hole cleats. The fixing is not in a sunken recess like my previous (Carnac - French made) shoes. This makes it more difficult to keep your foot on the pedal when you slow down and unclip the shoe from the pedal. Also, the sole shape is moulded to two very narrow parallel strips, which makes it impossible to push with the instep when 'coasting' to a stop or when taking off with the shoe unclipped, but I'm getting used to this. It's easy to walk in the shoes. The moulded sole is totally rigid, giving a good feel on the up-stroke. The heel has a shiny, patent-leather-like finish with the dhb logo on it. The synthetic uppers have some nice bits of detail on them. Overall: excellent value, as the Cycling Plus magazine reported"

Great Buy!!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable, Good Fit
"I am new to cleated shoes and pedals, so bought these to try it out. I am so impressed with how much they have improved my cycling, especially on the climbs.
These shoes have a very firm sole - good enough for my recreational riding needs. They are so easy to put on with the 3 velcro straps. I got the all blacks ones and they look and feel great.
They do also provide some great ventilation for your feet.
I am looking for a good reason to upgrade, but can't find one. These shoes suit all of my needs at a great price."

These shoes aren't pants
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Now I have wide feet (110mm.) at the ball & a VERY high instep in fact my daughter who works with a ballet company says"a male dancer would give his soulcase for those arches". With everyday shoes I vary going from 8 upwards till I can get them on (this cursed arch). I read all the reviews took the plunge & ordered size 44 uk.9, glad I did ! There is approx. 10mm. spare at the toe & .the width is okay. Back to the high I/step-the straps are plenty long enough to get a good grip on the velcro. The soles are stiff but the uppers are nice & comfortable with a close fitting heel cup. If you're a name/colour poseur then these are not for you but if you want a great shoe without breaking the bank buy these. Trust the reviewers & go 1 size (uk.) bigger, it worked for me."

Excellent Value for Money...
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Limited Color Choices, watch out for the shoe size..
"You are probably reading all the reviews like I did about these shoes...they really are excellent.
Before you hit the "To Buy" tab, click on the "Description" tab first, scroll down and use the guide in the box for correct shoe size for these ...I made the mistake in thinking it would match my normal size and ordered to small. Wiggle were excellent in a no trouble returns and re-order.
Have fun reading the other reviews to make your own mind up. Just try and keep what I have pointed out in mind."

Quality, value and comfort.
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight
"I'm new to road cycling and wanted a pair of clip in shoes that didn't cost a fortune but would last me a while.
After researching various sites I kept coming back to Wiggle and decided to buy these dhb R1 road shoes in black and silver.
Delivery was super fast (even in the midst of the postal strikes). The shoes fit like a glove, they are of good build quality but are still lightweight enough. These should last some considerable time.
The velcro fastening provides me with enough adjustment width ways although I would think if you have very slim feet then try them on somewhere before you buy.
Overall I would definitely recommend these. Thanks Wiggle!!"

DHB - the best shoes your money can buy
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality
"These shoes are pretty fantastic. I used to wear a pair of carnac tri shoes - these beat them hands down in every category. They fit really well and i love the little attentions to detail, like the well placed air vents that supply your feet with fresh air to keep them cool (and stop smell build-up) but still keep your feet dry. An adjustable tongue keeps the foot comfy in the show and creates a good seal from moisture dripping through the top. The three Velcro straps ensures the shoe stays on your feet and keep the power churning to the cranks through every push and pull. I wear them with look cleats and have had no slippage. What a great shoe. For the money you'd be foolish not to!"

Looking for a "not too expensive" cycling shoes
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I was looking for a pair of road cycling shoes to have as an alternative to my "trainer type" shoes but not to be too expensive.
I came across these and ordered a pair of size 7 based upon previous reviews.
The delivery was speedy and I was genuinely surprised at the quality for the price. The fit was excellent and the shoe very comfortable and warm in use.
I would thoroughly recommend these to anyone looking for a slightly cheaper pair of road shoes

Great shoe
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable
"By far one of the cheapest cycling shoes out there but they don't compromise on the quality. If you're looking for something to get you started with SPD/SPDL clips then these are perfect. My only tip is to check sizing. I had to go up one size to get them to fit. They come up very small!"

First Cycling Shoes
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Having read the reviews I thought why not, and for £38 I really didn't have much to lose. I went ofr a 43 rather than 42 and I am glad I did, they really do come up on the small side.
This is a no frills basic shoe, but looks fine (I wnet for the black and sliver rather than the white) what it lack in style is more than compensated by how it performs, teh sole is ridged, the cleet mounting is easy and is comfortable. I noticed that it made me ride more efficiently, the combination of the solid shoe and being fixed to the pedal means you can feel the upstoke working too.
If you want a second pair or your first pair don't hesitate, tehy are a really good buy.

At this price you cannot go wrong
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, great ventalation
Cons: Unadjustable, Not Enough Features, fixed heel pad
"Hi I Bought these as a winter training shoe. In terms of quality you can see where the money has been saved in production in terms of the little things things such as a moulded heel pad rather than a replaceable one and the join between the sole and the shoe itself is a little ragged in places, but in terms of value they are a very solid buy.
The sole is exceptionally stiff and the shoe is surprisingly light. Ventalation on the sole, toe and heel are very good and with a decent sock they are comfortable over relatively long rides.
The bolt mounts are OKish but be careful when putting on cleats. I felt that one tweak to many on the allen key could quite easily shear the threads. when clipped in they give a solid interface to teh pedal but I would avoid using them if you prefer a cleat with any float as they can feel a little vague as teh pivot point seems a little far back (I did manage to get them feeling OK but that was at the furthest point of adjustment on the cleat.
the are made from good solid materials and maintain a relatively clean look over time. They are never going to beat a stylish Sidi or a top end Giro shoe in the looks department but they are serviceable and certainly better than most budget shoes.
All in all a great budget shoe and the only real choice for clipless 1st timers not wanting to break the bank."

I am a UK9 - EU43 and the pair that arrived were size 8 and way too small.

Diappointed
Pros: Adjustable
Cons: Poor Fit
"Bought these on the evidence of reviews read but they have not lived up to expectation. Been out in them once so far and they were not comfortable - perhaps it is me? I know they are bottom of the price range but they are not good enough so it is back to the tatty old pair until I find a better solution. 'You get what you pay for"

Great Shoes
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"My first ever cycling shoes, I find them great, solid quality and aethestically pleasing but it was my cycling obsessed brother that was gushing over them more. He has very expensive Specialized shoes and he's thinking about getting some of these.
Sadly I did scuff one of mine up straight away as I've never tried clipped pedals before and I fell over sideways pretty instantly! Got the hang of it now though and had some decent rides and the shoes are very comfortable."
