Good upgrade
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight
"Good replacement strap. Easily synched with my 305 once I found the right screen. Very comfortable and no transmission problems so far. Due to the soft electrodes you can't stick in the washing machine and have to handwash it. Overall recommended."

Worthless
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality, Wears Out Easily, unreliable
"This is one of the most infuriating gadgets I have ever owned. It is completely unreliable. My polar hr monitor has worked flawlessly for 5+ years. Igot this with a 310xt and it worked well initially, however, nothing will get it to work now. I have tried all the advice I could find."

Worthy a try
Pros: Comfortable, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Bought this alone with Garmin Edge 500 bike computer mainly for the training and race of my first ever Ironman 70.3. It's easy to put on and adjustable. I've not used other HRM so can't tell accuracy and sensitivity of this. But overall I think it works well with the Garmin Edge 500. I was worried that I won't feel comfortable wearing this during the swimming and run portion of the race but I actually didn't really feel its existence. Overall I think it's a good product compatible with a Garmin monnitor."

Heart rate monitor upgrade
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Had a Garmin 305 for over 5 years now, love it but the heart rate monitor has been getting worse and worse until recently I've found myself not using it at all. As I've been looking into purchasing the all singing all dancing 905 I thought I might as well get the Premium heart rate monitor already as you pay pretty much the same price for the strap whether you but it with the watch or not. I'm not dissapointed, the Premium strap is far better than the older version, doesn't fall down and apart from the odd peak at the start of my runs, generally reads my HR well. I've now started using my HR to plan and program all my runs, especially my tempo's and long runs.
Thanks Wiggle"

New strap
Pros: Comfortable, Rugged, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Wears Out Easily
"I had been using the older hard strap for a few months after my original monitor stopped working. I had forgotten how much more confortable this strap is and hence worth the extra cost. I just wish the original monitor had not stopped working."

Just works!
Pros: High Quality, Adjustable
"Worked well with my new Garmin 910xt. No fuss - just synced straight away and gave a consistent reading. Regarding comfort - well, it's not 'comfortable', but I forget I'm wearing it after a few minutes. It has stayed on well during an Ironman event, including under a wetsuit. (It's waterproof.) All in all, very happy."

Better that the standard option
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Much better signal from this than the standard option. It remains in place well but the strap can fold over on itself at times. This causes no issues though. It's pricey though."

Doesn't work for me
Pros: Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality, Wears Out Easily, unreliable, doesn't work
"I have now tried two of these. One came with my original Garmin Edge 500 (Premium) which only worked twice and the other was a replacement sent to me by Wiggle, which I have never been able to get to work reliably.
When first donning the HRM pre-ride it seems to be working OK but as soon as any effort is expended the readings drop out, only to come back later, then drop out again etc, etc.
I have tried all advice from all quarters regardfing how/wear to wear it and using saliva, water, gel etc, all to no avail. Gamin's help line suggested I re-fit the battery, which I have done, and I can now no longer get my Edge 500 to pair with it no matter how many times I re-scan.
Avoid."

good product
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"it is very comfortable, more than usual HRMs. In other cases there is friction with the skin with certain metal parts and this one is frictionless. very soft strap which is also great in long distance as it does not compress as much as the stiffer straps."

Sends crazy data to my Garmin 310XT
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"I bought this as a replacement for my strap that came with the Garmin 310XT watch. It's comfortable yet after a while the strap loses its elasticity and the monitor started to send crazy data to the watch. For example, I was doing a long endurance run at a very slow pace but according to the HRM my HR was at 230 BPM, which meant I was in heart attack range! Overall it does the job for a few months but then its durability lets it down."

I did have some problems!
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Over the past fifteen years I have used many Brands of Heart Monitors. I only started using them after triple By-Pass surgery. With most I had problems getting them to recognize my Heart Rate. The Garmin showed my Heart Rate for approx. two to three seconds then went off. I got in touch with the Garmin Importers in Switzerland, they reckoned it was defective, they sent me a replacement HRM 1 G which did not even connect to my Garmin Edge 500! Later I got in touch with my GP to find the Brand of "Electrode Solution" they use when doing ECG`s. It was from Parker Laboratories. Inc. Fairfield New Jersey 07004 USA. My local Chemist ordered it for me, with the Spray my problem was solved, I do have to use the Band more to my left, it will not function in the normal position middle of my chest."

Not worth the extra
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Expensive
"Purcased this to go with my garmin edge,I have used polar mainly over the years but at this price I was expecting better. For a start it is endless so you have to slip it over your head to put it on or step into it,then I find it won't work in my gym with the technogym equipment so ended up having to buy a polar one as well.On the plus side the batteries ar replaceable"

Endless Strap??

doctor frank - have a look at the metal buckle on your strap - you will find an opening where you slide the loop off the buckle. They come that way to avoid large buckles and increase comfort. Good Luck

do not buy
Pros: Comfortable
Cons: Low Quality, unreliable
"if you are trying to train seriously by using HR zones do not buy this. It does not work reliably & gives frequent erratic heart rate readings of over 220bpm. I know several people who have this monitor & they are all frustrated with it. The other solid garmin strap however works well."
