Sportful Hot Pack Wind Gilet - 2009

Minimal weight, minimal space, but full wind protection gilet. So often when you go out for a ride the weather can change quickly and dramatically so leaving you exposed to the elements. As this gilet has a very small pack size and low weight you can stuff it into a jersey pocket or bag without taki...

"Bought this on clearance at about half price. Even for that I think it was too much - does fold down very small, but generally looked a bit too thin to offer much protection, and didn't look like it would breathe well.
returned.

Very Hot Pack
Pros: Attractive
Cons: non breathable
"Ideal for those who like to sweat a lot!! Non breathable, took it out for first time and within twenty minutes my jersey was wet. Disappointed as it actually looks good."

Amazingly tiny
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"It comes in a very small bag that you can tuck away very easy. Tends to sweat a lot (I prefer to sweat than freeze on those cold nights) whilst riding. It does what it is supposed to do , no fuss and tiny when packed. It's lightweight , I even attach it to my helmet when my pockets are filled with gear."

Gilet does the job
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"The best feature of the gilet is it's light weight. It can be easily and quickly taken off wrapped up and placed in a back pocket. I was very pleased with the fit and it was efficient in minimising wind effect from that part of the body. I live in a warm zone so it is perfect for mild weather cycling."

Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Another top quality product from Sportful, the sizing is small like most Italian clothing so I recommend buying a size bigger. The gilet keeps you warm on those cold morning, and folds up to almost nothing. Very cheap for the quality a recommended buy."

poor fit
Cons: Unadjustable, Unattractive, Not Enough Features, Low Quality, Poor Fit
"Felt like I'd made this out of a bin bag by just cutting a couple of holes to put my arms through. Sorry Sportful....it's an attractive price but alas it affirms the motto 'you get what you pay for'."

Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"Usually a size 10, went for the larger size after reading previous reviews. It was spot on. Great for early morning starts and packs away as the sun comes up, or the hills loom. Slightly more expensive than I wanted to spend but I am delighted with it."

Good value for the money
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
"Pros: nice and visible (not that they'll see you anyway)
Lightweight and fits nicely into a rear pocket.
Not expensive as they go.
Cons.
Not very breathable so would get a bit sweaty in summer I reckon.
Sizing is a bit odd. I am usually a small/medium. I needed a large in this.
A bit "plasticky"
A good value gilet at the price."

not the best
Cons: Low Quality, Poor Fit
"I'm normally somewhere between a large and an extra large in size. After noting comments from other reviewers I ordered the XXL. This was smaller than a normal large!
It's a shame there is no consistency between makes. The material did not seem very good quality either.
Wiggle as always gave an excellent service.

Very Light, Good Quality. Too Small!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality
Cons: Poor Fit
"Not a bad product but this is the smallest size large I have ever seen. I gave it to my wife who is a size 10 and it fitted her perfrectly. I know Italian sizing is small but at that rate an XL would have been too small."

Quality windproof/water resistant gilet
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
"A good lightweight gilet.
Packs up into a bag slightly bigger in size than an orange.
More water resistant than I expected.
The bright yellow is good for visibility, and slightly see-through if you want to flaunt the team kit a little.
I got it on sale, probably wouldn't have paid the full amount for it.
If you're not sure about the size, go up one.
I'm usually a small for jerseys but I got a medium sized gilet and it fits well.
The fabric has some sort of coating that dirt slides off and this seemed to be quite effective when I got some flecks of mud on it.
Note: no mesh on back. Full, solid material the whole way round.
