Speedplay Zero Stainless Green Pedals

Speedplay pedals are incredibly lightweight thanks to intelligent engineering. The engagement mechanism is housed in the cleat, not the pedal, allowing you to have a double sided pedal with one mechanism (rather than one on each side of the pedal).

Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Unadjustable, Poor Fit
"By far the best pedals on the market...in theory! These pedals make so much sense. The design is simple and logical and seem to remove the flaws of other types of pedals.
In practice though they fall a bit short of what I expected. The pedals themselves are a simple to fit to the bike, anybody could do it. The cleats are a bit of a faff though. To adjust the float (default is set to wide open 15 degrees) is very difficult. The screws are really small but really hard to turn. I've got a decent tool kit and I couldn't get them moving so in the end i had to use adjustable grips to turn them. Which was disappointing!
The cleats make you feel like you're going to go over on your ankles when walking, especially when your legs are tired.
All that negativity out of the way, I'd still recommend these pedals as they are great fro riding. A few more good rides with them and I'll have forgotten about the teething problems and will be loving them."

They're Speedplay and they're green!
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight, green (colour)
"If you love Speedplay Zeros... and you love green... then it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that you'll love these!
I have the titanium ones on my first bike so bought the stainless ones for my second bike so I don't have to keep changing pedals. I can't tell the difference between the axles when I'm riding them."

Best pedal system available
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"This is the 3rd set of Speedplay pedals that I have bought. They are top quality, never squeak or make noises and the cleat part lasts for ages."

Do not think twice
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit, double sided engage/disengage
Cons: Wears Out Easily
"I don't know why i hesitated in buying these pedals, my dad has sworn by this brand for absolute years (i probably didnt get them because i didnt want to admit he was right).
I started of with stock shimanos, went to look keo (purchased from wiggle) and found i was fumbling just as much.
When i put the speedplay on my bike i didnt have to think twice about engaging/disengaging. It came natural, and im quite the uncoordinated person at times. These pedals are able to be engaged easily in more parts of the pedal stroke than the shimano's and looks.
I hope this is a good review because all my purchases are from hard work, and really appreciate good quality for price.
One thing i worry about though is disengaging into sand/gravel which is plentiful in Perth (Aus) but im going to buy the coffee shop cleat covers which will satisfy me 100%.
The adjustable float helped minimise strain on my knees, and they are more tunable than the previous looks/shimanos."

Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
"These pedals are my favourites. I'v used look, shimano (look style) and spd, as well as time and crank bros. They are super reliable, and easy on the knees. I use them on my road and track bikes. I know there are track specific speedplays, but I am an endurance track cyclist and don't feel I need the heavier spring. Two seasons use on the track have proven this to be true. Follow the instructions carefully with respect to cleat installation... no overtightening necessary."

A Real Quality Pedal
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"There are a few things I really like about speedplay zeros. 1) double sided, makes clipping in real easy, 2) cleats last longer than speedplay x, 3) float, 4) weight, 5) no sharp edges (I've cut my shins on pedals more than once). They also have a super low stack height, I need to adjust my saddle a reasonable amount when I use other pedals. The float is also adjustable, but it's non-centering. If you can't live without non-centering float look elsewhere, otherwise these are the best pedals around. The cleats can wear out if you walk too much."
