Good piece of kit
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Lightweight and windproof. Tested in a reasonably heavy shower and no water came in. So far very impressed. Contrary to some other reviews, I'm not sure that I'd wear them wandering around mountains due to the reinforced crotch, but maybe that's just me - however, they are ideal for commuting to work through the wind and rain."

Comfortable & Lightweight
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
"These cycling trousers are comfortable and lightweight. Although they aren't sold as waterproof, I have ridden with them in heavy rain without getting wet at all. The trousers feel incredibly light and have a slightly baggier area around the knee to avoid restricting your riding rhythm.
There are reflective sections on the back of the trousers aiding visibility from behind.
The trousers zip-off into shorts with ease and the fit is baggy rather than fitted. Being about 6'2" I was concerned about the length of the torusers but found them to be pretty much perfect for me.
The protective coatings on both legs by your ankles is great for avoiding wear and tear. The side vents for extra air are a good feature as well when the weather warms up a bit. Especially when you are already riding.
Overall, excellent trousers but a bit expensive. However, these will last and can be used all year round."

Good except for one major annoyance
Cons: unconfortable
"These pants would be great if it wasn't for the zip-off pants. The idea is great, however the seams where the trousers zip off into shorts are a little sharp and abrasive on the skin which is incredibly annoying. Otherwise the pants are great."

Ride to a wedding or funeral in these.
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"As usual another high quality product from Gore. I have only worn them once but my wife commented they looked smart which surprised me. A little on the baggy side in the legs but they have several velcro points around the lower legs for tightening the material around your legs for riding. I bought them for long cycling tours where a respectable pair of long pants are required for the flight or walking around at the end of the day. More comfortable than the waterproof over trousers. The legs detach giving you another pair of shorts."

Gore Windstopper trousers.
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Versatile
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices
"Great product. Just did 2 weeks touring in Holland and even though these trousers don't pretend to be waterproof they did a pretty good job. Combined with the windstopper properties and the zip-off legs you can't go wrong!"

Work well - but for long legs
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor Fit
"Wore these on a (typically English Autumn) cold, wet day and they are very comfortable and do protect well against the rain and wind. The velcro fastenings on the lower leg work well. My only issue is that being overweight and taking up cycling for the exercise then the correct waist size means the legs are a little too long for me."

Warm and nicely made
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"This seems to be a nice pair of trousers. I bought these for my daily commute (2x45 minutes) as I thought my normal clothes were a bit too sweaty but I don't like to wear any fluorescent (or black) lycra....
Thus far, they do the job nicely. They're warm (perhaps for warmer days I need to zip the legs off and wear it as shorts) and I think they might be warm enough to allow me to survive the winter (if not, some long Johns would be enough).
Unfortunately (I know, it is strange), I haven't had a chance to use them in the rain as I really would like to test their ability to withstand rain as mentioned by others. They look like they will do though.
I do like the reinforced bits on the inside of the ankles to avoid my chain eating my trousers. However, the reinforced bit to prevent wear by my saddle could have done with some padding I think. Not a big deal though.
The fit is good but as a slim 6 footer, I have problems with the fact my belly is apparently not fat enough so it is somewhat loose around my waist (I bought an XL which is perfect for my legs but didn't dare to buy an L, perhaps an L waist+XL legs might be an idea?).
Overall, I am quite pleased with these!"

Ideal cummuter wear
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight
"I don't think the recent weather has even began to test these trousers. They heve kept me dry during a recent downpour, warm in a stiff coolish breeze and they get dry really quickly. They could be a bit more breathable in the lower leg, but if it is that warm you can always unzip the legs and use them as shorts so cannot even complain about that really.
Only downside for me is that when the bottoms of the legs are adjusted to their loosest they are a bit flared and rub together when walking but are still not wide enough to slip off over a pair of MTB shoes. Oh, and could do with a few pockets!"

Great fit and comfortable
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
"Absolutely fantastic cut in these trousers they fit perfectly. Stylish and comfortable plus for detachable lower half of the legs.
Had a samekind of trousers from another manufacturer before but cut was awful, shaped knee area shortend the length when riding but these fit just right, no more exposed anckles while riding."

Goods returned
Cons: Bulky, Expensive, Not Enough Features, Poor Fit
"Very disappointing, selected size according to chart on website but trousers were too large and pockets were of limited use. Wanted a pair of trousers like the old Endura type that can be worn on bike or in pub but these do not really fit the bill as casual trousers."

Well designed
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: Expensive, no pockets found yet
"Used on MTB ride just out the packet - they are lovely and lightweight but kept the cold and damp out - the thigh vents are really useful when you get a bit hot and remember the bottom half of the legs can be zipped off for the summer ! The protection over the areas most likely to get damaged looks tough so these should last and justify the outlay."

Have stood up well to tough testing
Pros: Adjustable, Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, Good Fit, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged, Versatile
"I bought mine over a year ago and they have been fantastic. This winter, on my commute in the North of Scotland, I have been cycling through heavy sleet, rain and bitterly cold winds, with ice and slush on the roads whilst frequently getting sprayed by passing traffic. I don't think you could ask for a much tougher test. Together with a pair of neoprene overshoes they have done me proud - they even make the trip bearable. On top of that, they are still as good as the day I bought them, and they don't just get used for cycling. The design makes them easy to put on over boots and they are just the trousers for a bit of cross-country skiing or hill walking!"

Great trousers !
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"These Gore Countdown Windstopper AS trousers are really very good indeed.
I was unsure whether to spend the (not cheap) money on cycle specific trousers.
I am very pleased I did as they re great:
- Very light weight and comfortable.
- Windproof but really breathable without ever being too hot.
(Ambinet 3 deg C).
- Bonus is they are showerproof as well.
- Good cut - double layer to saddle area against wear.
- Zip conversion to shorts which I haven't tried yet.

Good stuff
Pros: Adjustable, Comfortable, Great Value, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
"If you don't like neither a superman-like tight pant nor a sportswear fashion one, this pant may be the solution. Quality level is high, efficacy is high under wind and rain and big openings are welcome when it's a bit hot with efforts. The only draw back is that the "2 in 1" building (giving the possibility to transform into a short) has a slightly negative impact on appearence. Concernig the size, Gore Bike Wear chart appeared fine.
Overall a very good buy
"
