Very convenient system
Pros: Durable, Rugged, convenient
Cons: heavy
"This rack goes on and off in a second, and stays with your bag. Is very strong and works great.
I had a problem with the stainless steel straps that hold it to the seatpost after trying to switch it between bikes. I'd recommend mounting it once and leaving it there. I was able to replace the straps, after an hour wandering around bunnings, I discovered the straps are exactly the same size as hose clamps. So $5 and 5 mins with a drill and I had replaced the broken straps.
The metal rack is solid steel, so weight watchers beware."

Quite good but...
Pros: Comfortable, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Not Enough Features, Wears Out Easily
"I have had this SQR system for about a year now and it is still working just fine, I only had to retighten the bolts once or twice (tip: put two rings of old inner tube on the stem of your saddle where the clamps wrap around, it improves the grip immensely).
I own the biggest Carradice bag, the Camper Longflap and I don't have any problems with it touching my legs or anything.
I am using my bag when commuting every day and I did go for several weekend tours and one four-day trip cycling to Paris and just managed to fit everything in but came close to the 10kg limit then.
However by now the metal has rubbed a little hole into my bag on one side (where it comes down from the handle and then bends) and the other side looks very shiny at the same position.
So if you want to keep your bag forever you have to do something to distribute the pressure as there are two very distinct pressure points on the bag. I think I will use some foam to wrap around the two wires and I am hoping that Carradice will update their design so this doesn't happen in the future.
So overall only 3 out of 5 for damaging the bag in a relatively short time but in principle a very good idea!

Great Product
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"I purchased a Carradice Super C Saddlebag and a Carradice SQR quick release fixing from Wiggle. Fitting was easy and the quick release works very well. My only slight niggle is that the leather fixing straps supplied with the saddle bag look very good but because they are quite thick, they are difficult to pull tight and it allows the saddlebag to swing especially when climbing a hill. I replaced them with heavy duty cable ties. Overall, both are well made British products which work well together, very pleased."

Wish I'd bought this one in the beginning
Pros: Versatile
"Initially, I bought the Bagman QR to use with my Barley.
The bag gets used for light touring on my Thorn Audax and shopping to augment the capacity of my panniers.
This means swapping the bag-mount from my hybrid to Thorn, when I go away (and removing the 'Twist' bracket from the Thorn first)
I've used a couple of drops of hot glue to keep the spring in place, so swapping the SQR Mount from pin to pin, is much simpler. It now means all my bikes have 'Twist' brackets permanently fitted and can take the uplift block on a whim in less than 5 minutes.
Downside - a bit heavier than the Bagman, but not eneough to worry about."

Great
"Good solid product. Used it on a tour with the Carradice SUper C bag on my road bike. Worked fine.
One problem i found was it was difficult to cycle when standing up as my bag would sway from side to side which would unbalance the bike a bit. This didnt really bother me however since I almost never get out of the saddle. Maybe there is a better way to attach it then i did to prevent this but I couldnt figure it out..."

great option for luggage mounting
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"I have multiple bags that I like to be able to switch between based on what my needs are and which bike I'm riding, this allows me to easily mount a bag on the frame and no longer have to deal with buckles and straps when I wish to swap out luggage."

Excellent!
Pros: High Quality
"I use this daily with my Barleybag. I had just enough seat post available to fit it onto my road bike and there is good clearance of the mudguards and my saddle.
It is well made, easy to fit and seems like it would hold a lot more weight than my full barley bag! Although I have tended to leave my bag on the bike, on the odd occasions I have taken it off it has taken seconds to remove."

"I've got a Brooks Champion Flyer saddle on my bike. I wanted to use my Carradice saddlebag. The springs on the Flyer make it impractical to hang any sort of substantial bag from the saddle. The SQR system solves the problem. The added benefit is that the saddlebag can now easily be mounted or dismounted from my bike.
The SQR bracket was easy to mount on the seat post, and the bag attaches easily to the support."

Quality product and very useful
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"You'll need a good fist of seatpost spare to use this, and you may not be able to have your saddle all the way back on the rails once fitted, but those are the only issues with this excellent piece of kit.
Very highly recommended in conjunction with any of Carradice's saddle bags. I have both the pendle and the camper longflap. Why anyone commuted with a rucksack when a saddlebag is so much easier to carry I have no idea. You hardly know it's there."

It works!
Pros: Rugged, Good Fit
"It's easy to fit, works as expected. Makes getting the saddlebag on & off an easy process. Only snag is that the handle is too close to the saddle and your bum can touch it at times though this may or may not be an issue depending on your setup."

Velo Loire
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Having made my decision to take my 20yr old, but new to me Basso road bike to cycle the Loire velo trail from Orleans to La Baule on the coast , luggage problem started.
The touring bike has Ortlieb panniers this bike had nothing. Having spent too long dithering a choice was made a Carradice Nelson Long flap saddle bag. This held all my wet weather gear, tools, spare tube, pump etc plus a change of clothes for the evenings. However like my saddle didn't have bag loops. Solution easy the Carradice SQR Saddle Bag Uplift System solved the problem with ease and style.
The only slight drawback was getting the clamp tight enough not to allow the bag to move sideways. On reflection I feel some thin rubber twix clamp and stem would save the risk of over tightening whilst stopping movement.
On the whole though I was extremely pleased with the ease of attaching the bag and the process of un-clipping was a breeze.
Will look forward to using it again.

Didn't do the job
Pros: Durable, Rugged
Cons: Expensive, Unadjustable, Unattractive, Poor Fit
""Seemed like a good idea at the time" should be the description of this piece of equipment. No matter how I positioned it, I ended up with the saddlebag mount too far forward so my rear was always touching it. Carradyce suggested I BEND the upper part outwards, but as I pointed out, if this went wrong I would be unable to return it for refund. Disappointing."

well designed
Pros: Durable, Rugged, Versatile, Good Fit
"takes a few minutes to fit, and i used it for my Super C saddlebag because the old QR worked on my Brooks saddle but not on the newer one. This takes a few minutes to fit and makes it easy to get the saddlebag on and off. Reasonable price, too."

Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Used on Brompton with CARRIDICE Saddle bag on John O Groats to Lands end. Worked well and sat high enough and far enough not to interfere with backside.
The first one failed when the captive nuts twisted and could not remove, Emailed Carridice and they replaced straight away. New one is fine."

A must for awkward frames
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"Having bought the SQR and saddle bag a few years ago and found it invaluable, I was at a loss when my bike was stolen with the SQR attached.
My replacement mountain bike hasn't the right frame for panniers, so I started the hunt for a new SQR uplift system. Really pleased to get one at a cracking price and delivered within 18 hours, that's service for you!!"

Nice sturdy mount for saddlebags
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"The SQR system works exactly as advertised. I like it because it puts the load bearing on the seatpost directly, rather than on the saddle undercarriage. The attachment and latching mechanism is very sturdy and should be trouble free for the long haul. I did not challenge the limit on the bracket because I installed with the small Barley bag. However, I used it to carry the Barley bag stuffed full of groceries and with a new kitchen faucet strapped to the top of the Barley bag. I could not tell anything was there.
Be sure you have sufficient seatpost clearance to mount the system. Its probably not going to work with a sprung saddle unless you have a large length of seatpost showing.
This system does not place the bag in an upright position like the bagman does. I attached a custom cut piece of Lexan plastic sheet between the SQR system and the bag. It worked beautifully to support the bag in an upright position without being obtrusive.
The SQR does not weigh much. The carry handle is a very useful item. I appreciated it the first time I had to carry the bag into a building.
The quick release is very fast and easy to use, once you've used it a couple of times."

Carradice SQR Saddle Bag Uplift System
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"The SQR works very well. I use it with a Carradice Camper Longflap because I didn't want to leave the bag on the bike. Is easily removed, although when full it touches the rear wheel when being removed, no problems when cycling, has about 3 inches of clearance with wheel. It fits nicely on the seat post allowing the saddle bag and uplift to be removed quite happily from under my Brooks Flyer. Hope this helps."

Quick way to move your saddlebag about
Pros: Durable, Great Value, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
"I purchased this primarily because I don't have a saddle with bag loops, and attaching it to the saddle rails let is sag too low when it was fully loaded.
Overall, I very much like this system. Once everything is put together, it is very simple to operate. I can take my saddle bag into the store with me and load it up there. When I get home, I can take my saddlebag in the house with me and put my groceries away. On the bike, everything is secure.
My complaints have more to do with overall bike setup, tho. I usually have my saddle set all the way back, and I ride a large frame so I don't have a lot of seatpost exposed. This limits me to how far down I can place my SQR and if I scoot all the way back on the saddle I can feel the tops of the loops on my backside. Not the most pleasant. But, as I have stated before, this has some to do with how my bike is setup. If you have less tha a fistfull of seatpost exposed and run your saddle all the way back, it's something to consider - maybe the Bagman with the quick release would work better.
Best part of all, ordering through Wiggle was such a lower cost than ordering through a retailer here in the United States I almost couldn't believe it."

Solid Purchase
Pros: Adjustable, Great Value, Rugged
Cons: Unattractive
"I have to start off by saying I haven't tried any other saddlebag support systems other than attaching directly to the saddle and letting it sway (only tried that for a day).
I really like this system. It's not the most beautiful solution and sometimes that bothers me, but it functions well. Just make sure you have enough seatpost sticking out or this won't fit. It will either rest on your fender or stick above the seat.
