Durable material
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Good Fit, Rugged
Cons: Poor Quality
"Really nice bag. On a short overnight trip, I'll carry a pair of pants, a shirt, a light jacket and a pair of walking shoes in the main compartment. The side pockets are good for small bike related stuff. I would agree with other reviewers that very small items should be collected into a small bag before being put in the side pouches to prevent them from accidentally coming out.
My only grip is that the reflective logo sticker which I believe is supposed to be ironed on, is only partially bonded to the bag. I may have to glue the sticker on to prevent it from falling off completely. A small thing, but something that you don't expect after reading the inside tag which says that the bag was made by "Sue".
Overall I'm very happy with the bag. The size is just right for short/ultralight trips. I use this in conjunction with the Bagman Sport, which I think works really well to support this bag. The combination setup isn't very heavy and doesn't affect the handling of the bike as long as you aren't carrying anything too heavy in the bag. The canvas material the bag is made of appears very durable and the bag will last a lifetime."

Fits the small spaces well
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I am using this on a road bike that really shouldn't be used for commuting. This bag makes the most of a small space. Really convenient for small loads, but can handle larger loads. If you are commuting with a full wardrobe and lunch you will probably want something bigger, but if you are packing some food and a sweater, a lock and tools, it is great. Clearly well made, and will be a legacy purchase."

Love it.
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"I bought this for the commute (with the bagman QR sport to support it) but it recently went on a camping trip, too. It weathered a good amount of rain and actually kept the dirt flung up by my tire off my bum and once dry was brushed relatively clean relatively quickly.
Love this bag. It's generally a perfect size for the commute, I can get a pair of shoes, the days' clothes, lunch and all the tools necessary for fixing a puncture without having to use the flap. And the plastic wrap top on the inside is big enough, unlike the one in the barley. Only gripe is that the pockets on the side feel like they could use longer flaps, or shorter leather buckle tongues...though, admittedly, nothing has ever fallen out of them."

GREAT bag
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I've got the bag, waiting for the support, but it looks great. Can't wait to use it. The bag is simple but practical, very good quality and it's gonna be a real eyecatcher overhere in Belgium."

well designed and classic style
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
"I purchased this bag for brevet riding and it has been great thus far. It works great with the Bagman sport support and has plenty of room for an overnight trip. The buckle straps aren't as quick to release and fasten as other systems, but it doesn't bother me... I like the classic styling. It's not totally waterproof as there is the possibility of water to get through the sides of the flap, but it hasn't been a problem for me yet."

Big enough!
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Rugged, High Quality, Good Fit
"As the happy owner of a Pendle, I took a punt and bought this bag because it had a longflap, and I thought it would be able to hold a bit more (even though it is not that much larger in specified volume).
Actually, the longflap enables the bag to hold a lot more. For example, I am able to stuff my MacBook 15" (in a sleeve) into the bag — it does sit out of the bag compartment, but is easily and conveniently covered by the longflap — the length of the bag is just enough for the width of the computer in the sleeve. Probably not a storm-proof solution, but it works well and has easily survived light rain. I usually use a plastic bag as well because I am paranoid.
The bag itself is excellent, well crafted and spacious. I can fit two changes of clothes and one set of shoes shoes, food, tubes, repair kit, batteries etc, with the flap in the short position. With the flap extended you get almost 2/3 of the capacity again, great for sleeping bag, or unexpected loads... But with the laptop onboard, I can't fit the shoes, and have only ever carried one change of clothes. Still, it is a good solution if you don't want the bulk and heavy-handling of panniers... plus, these saddle bags look the part."

My Back Loves It
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
"great bag - perfect size for my commute to work - can get full change of clothes, lunch and tools. The big plus is not having a sweaty back !! Its a pity the side pockets were not more weather tight as i use for wallet, phone etc. Use with SQR release system - holds it really well with no movement."

Do yourself a world of good...
"...and buy one. Yeah, the angle is a little acute without some kind of stand-off or hanging device, but the Original Series of bags from Carradice have become trusted companions over many years of riding for my wife and I. The Low Saddle Longflap is basically a shorter (in height) version of the Nelson Longflap. This allows less distance between the saddle loops on your Brooks and your fender/mudguard (you have fenders/mudguards, yes?) The side pockets are perfect for repair kits / snacks / electronic devices / mickeys / a Trip 35 / a Turkish coffee mill (separated) ...you get the idea. A great transverse saddle bag that only improves with age. As waterproof as it needs to be. Your results may vary."

...and I need to return the bag. I wrote the initial review just when I received the Longflap. After a few uses (some in just below freezing weather), I noticed two problems: Firstly, the straps were cracking across their width, in a manner that none of my other Carradice units have done. Secondly, the length of leather used to secure the buckle for the side pockets on my new bag is much longer than on previous incarnations, making the gap between pocket and flap untenable. ie, stuff falls out of these pockets that never did on my older Camper and Nelson. Too bad, I hope Carradice rectifies this situation.
