Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Great Value, Lightweight

"This little light packs a punch. Its light and biult strong externally. A minor fault was found with the spring in the cap, which had not been glued in properly. Other than this the light is great with 3 constant light intensity settings each of which also has a flashing setting. Good value for money."

Date: March 4, 2010 Nice looking but expensive and fiddly
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Poor Fit, Poor Quality

"First impressions of this light were good - very nice, lightweight unit.

However, my first light failed within a few days and had to be returned and both this one and the replacement came with lanyards which did not fit. (I agree with many of the comments about quality made by "chud" on October 9, 2009)

The new one works well as a torch and the batteries (rechargables) last fairly well. Using it as a handlebar mounted bike light, however, is rather hit and miss, mainly because of the shoddy bracket supplied. Every time you remove and replace the light you have to adjust where the beam points and every time you operate the switch to change the brightness it moves around and you have to adjust the aim again! Not to mention moving around when you go over bumps....

There is some sort of quick release bracket to buy as an extra but at a further £18 (for a bit of plastic!!!) I really can't justify spending that much to find out if it solves the issue, having already spent a further £20+ on the charger and batteries. And I could spend another goodness knows how much for a helmet bracket!

All in all, a lovely looking neat and compact light which avoids trailing cables but works out very expensive for what it is and has some niggles as described.

"Really happy with this light - 220 Luminums is crazy for such a tiny unit & awesome Wiggle prices BUT the batteries are very pricey - I understand they are lighter then AAs but way more expensive.

I have the rechargeable Exposure 'race' so this was only bought as a helmet light so it's fine for me but be warned you'll need to buy the recharging system they sell extra.

Date: February 5, 2010 Spark of light!
Pros: Attractive, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight

"I have spent some considerable time (and money!) attempting to get a light set up that suits my journey - this is it! It is small, light and extremely powerful and is perfect for the unlit road part of my journey. This is the first light that has allowed me to maintain my pace in the dark.

On the downside, the mounting system is poor for a product of this quality. Although this can be fixed with a bit of imagination I think we have a right to expect better from a less than cheap light!

I have noted other reviews and am awaiting the arrival of a battery charger!

Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Rugged, compact, good light
Cons: Expensive, poor battery life

"Excellent little light, it is compact and will easily fit in a pocket. Well made. Excellent light output, and a decent pattern, which results in short battery life. The different power allow increased life, and the torch will automatically turn down when that batteries start running low, increasing life. Easily good enough to cycle with on unlit roads."

Date: December 30, 2009 Good commuter light with niggles
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Durable, High Quality, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices

"Great light for commuters, for both town and country. The high 'beam' is excellent for unlit roads and as is the pulse mode for town. It is small and fits in pocket of my water proof jacket. It is solidly built and didn't mark when it dropped out of my frozen hands in the week before Christmas.

I brought the charger with rechargeable batteries for £23, which I feel is a must. The batteries are CR123A and are not easy available. Buying disposables would soon cost more.

The clip it comes with is rather cheap. It fixes with two cable ties and tends to slip round. I might buy the 'proper' mount for an extra £18.

I phoned Exposure Lights up and got a prompt response from someone knowledgeable. They are UK based.

If you buy a quality light like this make sure you factor in extras such as rechargeable batteries etc. If you do then the total cost is quite a bit more.

"This is a quality product and very good mounted on the helmet. For mountain biking it is not bright enough on its own for fast decents but used together with bar mounted lights it is fantastic. It has a narrow focussed beam which penetrates. Where it really comes in to its own is road riding, particularly on strobe setting in traffic.
I didn't buy the helmet mount from exposure but went for a £5 rubber mount off ebay - fits perfectly.
Summay - excellent light but pricey when compared to other lesser known brands.

"This light gives unbelievable performance considering its size and weight. It is a slight concern that there is no user manual and also seems to be a problem when clipping into handlebar bracket. Every time I have fitted it into the bracket it stops working and I have to reset it by unscrewing the battery compartment. I will keep my reciept for guarantee purposes."

Pros: Durable, Good Fit, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: no manual included

"I bought this light simply because I couldn't justify the outlay for the Joystick MaXx, and I am glad I did!

Although smaller and with slightly less output it performs perfectly for my needs, it is bright to look at and with the pulse mode engaged you will definitely be seen. I use mine for commuting in city traffic so also ordered up the Exposure Charger and Pair of Batteries - which do fit - to offer more economy.

The previous reviewer mentions a few issues he had with his light, I found the Exposure batteries a good fit, build quality is as good as what I have always heard in that it is finished nicely and feels solid and durable, no fluff behind the lens and the end cap was a good fit, so it appears Exposure have addressed some of the earlier concerns. With regards to the mount, it appears unchanged, but I simply used apiece of an old inner tube and wrapped the bar fully under a pair of re-usable cable ties, this seems to hold the light firmly in place even over rougher surfaces.

Not mentioned in the description is that this light actually has 4 modes, Max, medium, low and pulse (not really flashing), the pulse setting remains constant but issues a pulsing flash of light which really does attract attention, not a bad thing. The Max mode is bright enough for unlit roads for me, so this light really has proven to be a great 'budget' purchase, although I would want something brighter for use off road.

My only slight issue is that the manual is online only and not included with the product, but it is such a simple bit of kit to use most people will not have a problem with this.

Date: October 9, 2009 Could be very good with redesign
Pros: Attractive, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive, Low Quality, Unadjustable

"Pros:
- V. Lightweight and small
- Flashing mode really good when half dark to be noticeable (but awkward to engage)
- Externally looks good, nice finish and appears to be well waterproofed
- Quick and easy to remove from handlebar mount
- V. Bright

Cons:
- DOESNT take rechargeable CR123A batteries, they don't fit due to being 1mm longer due to vital protection circuit - and the end cap design not accommodating this.
- V. Expensive for what it is
- Poor build quality, the spring in the end cap with fall out straight away or come already loose (a competing company told me all their stock was like this)
- My first one came DOA, tapping made it work intermitantly.
- The +'ve battery connector is a blob of solder which wont last long.
- The mount is held on with two little one-use tie wraps - it just about holds the mount tight enough to stop it spinning round the bar.
- End cap thread very short and hard to get on, also covered in black grease which gets all over fingers and batteries.
- Fluff/hair behind the lens (same on original and my replacement)

Conclusion
With a couple of simple improvements this light would be a right little cracker.
The end cap needs redesigning (made about 2 mm longer) to accomodate rechargeable batteries - have a longer better thread - have a spring that doesn't fall out.
I think the +'ve end also needs a proper contact and/or spring as this seems to be a weak point (I think this was issue with my first one)
