"I have just replaced my 5 year old pair of Asics Gel Kayano shoes with a new and revamped design of the Asics Gel Kayano 16. I am very impressed that the designed looks new & improved, the fit is still snug yet comfortable, but most importantly the durability & performance of the shoe is still right up there at the top.
I dont think that I will be changing the type of shoe I wear for quite some time."

Awesome Running Shoes

"I have had Kayano's since the model 12 and have never looked back. The kayano 16's are a great shoe, while they feel fast during shorter, harder runs that povide the support and stability for longer endurance runs in preperation for Ironman AUS. The shoe is lightweight and comfortable, and provides unmatched stability. ASICS Kayano 16 are another improvement on the already perfect running shoe. The Kayano's have a great run life as well, I currently have 2 pairs which are in constant use and I cycle between them each run to let the shoes recover in order to support me for another 3 hour run!!!. Plus Wiggles price of $150 AUS cant beat that."

Blisters. Buy at your peril.

"The only running shoe I've had in over 30 years I've been totally unable to wear. At all. They gave me dreadful blisters and bruising on the inside of my heel. The heel counter is very narrow and rock hard.
Otherwise, good forefoot cushioning, but the heel has so much gel it actually feels a tad unstable. Apart from the blistersthey gave me achilles tendonitis which stopped when I changed back to Brooks. I really wanted to love these shoes, as Kayanos have a great reputation, but just cannot recommend them. Definitely try these shoes on a treadmill before buying."

"My old pair of GEL-Kayano 14's were the best pair of running shoes i've ever owned, so when i needed a new pair of shoes, the Kayano-16's were at the top of my list. My only problem was with the sizing, I'm used to using US sizes, my converting must have been off when i oredered them in UK size as they came half a size too big."

"Having used Asics for the last 10-15 years, i buy these on trust, and this pair of Kayanos perform just as well as all the previous versions. It isn't broken, so they haven't fixed it. For an aging runner who is a fairly heavy over-pronator like me it doesn't get better than this (as Greg Wallace might say), and so is worth the considerable expense. Wasn't sure about the gold colour but luckily in the flesh it is fairly muted."
