Great Shoe

"I have been using this model of Asics shoe for nearly 10 years with no problems. They are comfortable from the box, wear reasonably well and enable me to cover upto 40 miles a week.
This is my 12th pair, so they must be doing something right!"

A Good Basic Shoe
Pros: Comfortable, Good Fit, Great Value, Versatile
"I had a blow-out in a pair of Nikes that had airbags in the heel - a lesson for anyone who takes this kind of shoe as hold baggage on an aircraft.
That meant I needed a general purpose running shoe and quickly. After looking at reviews and exploring the WIGGLE site I chose these and it's been a good decision. They are a decent basic shoe offering support and stability on road as well as on the tracks and grassland over which I run. My feet are quite wide and these are a very good fit across the front of the foot.
Two minor Cons: The mesh on the upper surface offers good ventilation and this meant I noticed the cold on my feet with the current weather conditions. Of course this is likely to be good if it ever warms up! I also like to see an area of reinforcement over the big toe on a shoe as this area can wear through, these shoes don't have that.
The Cons are minor niggles with what is otherwise a very good value general purpose shoe. As usual WIGGLE delivered them at lightning speed - 2 days from pressing the mouse button."

Fit for purpose

"The Cumulus shoe from Asics fits my relatively wide foot quite well. I find it fits my anatomy better than the bigger brother (nimbus).
I run quite a lot of km's a year (close to 3k), so the shoes I use must be very absorbant in terms of protecting the body and knees. For me, it is also important that the shoe does not "bounce back", as my knees are very sensitive to that.
I find that the Cumulus fully satisfies this (mind I have two different pairs of shoes, that I alternate every day).
In effect I guess that what you need to consider in choice of shoe is the type (cusion, stablity, ...), the level of absorbtion of power/weight and finally - but perhaps most important, the personal fit. If the shoe fits, you will notice as soon as you tie the laces."
