Schwalbe Recycled Tyre Messenger Bag
The Schwalbe Tyre Bag made out of real folding tyres and truck tarp.
Schwalbe have particularly strict quality assurance with folding tyres. Tyres that are too heavy, have run-out defects, or are optically un-round are immediately segregated, but no longer immediately scrapped, rather they are processed into useful Schwalbe Tyre Bags.

"The Schwalbe messenger back can hold lots of bits and pieces, from your laptop to your lock, and is still comfortable and practical to cycle with.
Slung over your shoulder, the white patch adds to your visibility and the design with the recycled tyre looks funky and stylish. With a little non-slide patch on the strap, the bag swing around, and it comes with an additional clip-in belt to add make sure the bag's not moving around while you cycle.
The design looks great, the bag is waterproof, and it's got more than enough space to fit everything in you need."

It's a style statement

"Being a cycling enthusiast, I really wanted an accessory that I could use off the bike that told people that I was a cyclist but wasn't just a novelty or was too much "in yer face". So I spurned pizza cutters, tolilet roll holders or expensive Oakley shades. It has taken people a little while to get that a real tyre is used to give the bag its shape, and to puzzle out what that big S stands for.
On the practical side, I use this as my work bag, shopping bag and occasionally on the bike for items that don't fit into my slim backpack. It's practical for all of these.
Good value too, when you try and find something that's as functional"

"Bought this bag on impulse as it looked really cool in the photos and it's surprisingly cheap. I though it would raise a chuckle if nothing else! I was astonished when it turned as to how good it actually is. Without a doubt the best bag I've ever bought! It will happily take everything I need for a day at work, (Sizable lunch bag,1.5l bottle of water, papers). Everything about it is built tough which is good as I tend to grab it and run as opposed to treat it like a delicate little flower. Hugely recommended. Only cons I can see are maybe that some other colour options would be nice although I would have chosen blue anyway and it's not really suitable for carrying laptops as it is not padded and is, by definition, semi-circular. Would love Schwalbe to expand the range as I would definitely be a loyal customer! Great bag, great value, great fun!!!"

GREAT BAG

"Its big enough to fit all sorts of stuff in it, laptop fits easily, Tough. Only down fall is the shoulder strap its too small and uncomfortable. A neoprene off another bag fixed the problem."

A man's manbag

"Having previously used a rucksack which made my back hot, and then used a rack and rack bag which my wife thought made me look old, on my regular commute I thought I join the trend with a messenger bag. Not sure if it was for me but not wanting to fit a rack to my new commuter bike (disc brakes make rack fitting tricky) i did not want to spend alot. This is a great bag for the money. It feels durable. It shrugs off showers of rain (my rucksack used to get soaked) and my back does not get as hot as you wear it lower. However it is not as comfortable as a rucksack, can slip around your body a little requiring constant readjustment while riding (despite the additional strap) and the nonslip pad on the strap is so hard and smooth as to be uncomfortably useless - i have removed mine. Nevertheless it is a bargain compared to the other messenger bags on the market, and the recycled tyre part makes this a man's manbag!"

"Everyone who likes bikes comments on this bag! It's very rugged and has been great over very cold winters and kept everything dry in snow (lots of it!), rain and mud.. It's quite roomy and stays in the right place on your back with the clever strap.
I'd recommend it to anyone who's happy to be a bike geek!"

I have added a light weight waterproof liner as the bag doesn't have a fully closing lid, to keep paper work completely dry (to be fair it doesn't promise this).

People can see at a glance you are into cycling. The bag is roomy, but the "canvas" is pretty stiff so its hard to stuff in extra gear and close the flap on it (velcro-secured flap).
If you are worried about waterproof-ness, the spray can get in under the edges of the flap at the top.
Also, its heavier than other bags 'cos its made out of such durable materials.
But I don't care because it seems to brighten up other people's lives when they see it."

There is a tire sewn into the construction... more like a moped tire than a bike tire.

"The Schwalbe Recycled bag has so far (one month) proven strong, and a pleasure to use. It isn't so great with heaps of stuff packed into it (several textbooks, drink bottle, lunch, headphones and pencil case), as the lid won't fully reach, but it's nifty for carrying small loads. So a laptop and an exercise book will fit fine.
Oh and its got one massive pocket and one small CD sized zip compartment."

"Stylish bag that doesn't shift about once lower strap in place. Enough space for all my waterproof kit, lock and other essentials. Smart enough to use as a fashion bag too if you're so inclined! Only gripe is that the main compartment doesn't zip so in heavy rain water can seep in at the sides."
