Great road feel and package
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: touch on the expensive side
"I brought thison sale and it was a great buy, I wrote to De Rosa to check sizes etc and they wrote back recommending the best size for me. You should be careful as this bike only has a 2.5 cm adjustment for saddle height (get it right the first time). The ride is great, I had to put a Deda carbon head set on the bike as it didn't come with one but it was only 50 bucks and looks great on the bike. The bike came with a bottom cable guide and BB30 cups. the bike shop commented that the internal cable guides were tricky so removed them and just put the cables through the top tube. I love the ride and feel, the acceleration is very responsive and cornering is the best I have ever experienced from a bike. Its a better bike than I am a rider :-) having said that I would recommend it to any one. Its still unusal to see another one on the road so it has a uniqueness about it."

What a fantastic machine
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I bought De Rosa first, carbon bike.
Compo. Shimano. Durace
wheel Mavic kishirium(2003)
Pros: light weight comfortable,go straight on
corns:expensive
Delivery: It took within 2 weeks , Thank you wiggle.
Dancing: It feels so good. It's something like rear wheel push for me.It is carbon bike! You should buy.
One thing I'm afraid is rear edge 's size. It 's big a little bit ,so that it's difficult to set wheel.

Italian in every way

Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, frame internals could be cleaner
"Have taken a while to use this frame before leaving a review. How to sum up??
Well.....3 months for delivery, mechanic swearing and cursing whilst building due to wrestling Yokozuna cabling past some interior glue, classic quote "you can tell this was built by Italians cos they get away with more compared to Chinese and Taiwanese factories...."
Looks great, exposed structural carbon plus lacquer gives a very different look to the bling Dogmas and Colnagos out there and fits beautifully (be very sure of the leg length in particular as there is +20mm leeway, no more). Slope geometry means stem height is perfect, no spacers required.
Then you ride it: it rewards every effort no matter how small, climbs well, sprints well, super stiff, yet compliant and nicely damped - feel the road at any speed, no low speed dullness here. Totally rewards you getting out of the seat - never cycled for so long or so hard out of the seat - pure addiction!! It is a joy and pleasure to ride and worth every penny, particularly when on special from Wiggle!! I also added some ceramic bits to the BB30 bottom bracket and pulleys - like that too.....comes with an Italian bracket conversion, not Shimano.
Couple of things about smaller frames: cramped area for big bottles, be careful about cage selection and be aware smallest frame sizes will result in toe overlap.
Italian in every way, beautiful and passion-inspiring!"

Fantastic. Just fantastic. Stiff as you could want, comfortable ride, drop-dead gorgeous, quick steering geometry. Only issue I have had is with the rear hanger occasionally bending - just reset it via my mechanic. Fantastic bike.

De Rosa Merak Frameset
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Rugged, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Limited Color Choices, did not come with all parts needed to build, takes a long time for delivery
"Above all, this frame set is Beautiful! The workmanship, painting and general finishing is very very good.
Wiggle, as usual, have been excellent in their support however Wiggle's supplier and the sole importer for De Rosa are as much help as a sponge leg!
Even though the frame was shown in stock, I waited an additional 3 weeks to recieve it and when I did it was supplied without a headset, BB cable router or bottle cage. Wiggle have endevoured to help but have been constantly let down. So, I have a frame which I had to take to LBS to have a headset fit (£70), and had to adapt a standard bb cable router which is not ideal on a frame of this cost.
Also beware, there is no excess in the seatpost to trim down like on the King 3 or every other isp frame i've come accross which makes sizing very tricky. I was lucky as the seatpost fits fine but the ACF size quoted is measured from the top of the BB to the absolute top of the intergrated seat mast. This is not from the centre of the BB to the top as suggested in the geometery chart. You get supplied (suprisingly) a micro post which gives upto 25mm of upward adjustment.
This is tricky to fit as you have to drill a 6mm hole, 30mm down from the top of the post dead centre on the ovalised seat mast. If you do not get this dead centre then you'll have to buy another frame but luckily I had a bravery pill in the cupboard.
Four weeks on, I have finally recieved the De Rosa Headset but an FSA CF-40 fits just fine too. I'm still to recieve the correct BB cable guide or a bottle cage which they come with from the likes of Slane and PBK etc.
Negativities aside, this is a sublime piece of kit once you've built it up. I built it up with a BB30 SRAM Force group, deda bars and stem and Easton EA90SLX wheelset and the finished weight is 6.6kg. It is super stiff with no flex at all and the steering and handling is simply awesome. I've owned a Tarmac SL, R3, T-Cube and an 586 and this feels like the stiffest ride of them all but is slightly compromised on comfort. This is no doubt due to the huge chain and seat stays, massive down tube and the bb30 with bulky BB. It also has a 1.5" bottom headtube diameter. It's a real sprint machine.
I initially had some rattling noises from the internal rear brake cable running through the top tube but solved this with the addition of Jagwire cable sleeves either side of where the cable enters and exits the toptube. Pull the cable tight through the tube section and slide the sleeves to act as stops - job done.
If I were to buy this again, i'd buy from a LBS with one in stock which you can try for size and ensure comes with all the required components as I doubt the original supplier has the ability, desire or inclination to bother once you've ordered."
