Mixed feelings

"Im a long time fan of Fizik on the strength og their saddles. I would not choose anything else other vthan a Fizik saddle so when i choose this bar tape i had high expectations. Im very much into bar tape andchange it very regularly. As such im pretty good at fitting it. This tapeis by far the most difficult to fit to a high finishing standard. The sticking strip on the backof it is a joke quite frankly and was of no use at all. Once fitted it looked very nice i must add. Itmatched by Fizik Arione.What a bike tart!
Grip was good. after a week though i succumbed and purchased another set of Lizard Skins DSP tape as it is the most awesome tape i have ever used.
This is not bad bar tape. Its just didnt live up to the Fizik name for me.
Its not stretchy and if you are looking for something padded you need to look at different tape.
The price is ok for what you get.
I cannnot comment on wear rate as i only had it on the bike for a week."

Good looking tape...

"The logo tape looks great, bling bling bling!
Although it seems a bit thin, it's comfy enough but I always wear gloves.
After 1000kms the white tape is starting to look a bit dirty, but I haven't gone to great lengths to clean it (it has scrubbed up ok with a quick wipe with a damp cloth)."

"looks the biz when fitted, harder to fit than other tapes i have fitted before as seems to be made from stronger material and less inclined to stretch when going around the bar by the drops, can get a kink on other side, it took a bit longer to get right. looks very classy when fitted."

"I had this originally on my bike. WEnt over to Lizard and have come right back. It's the comfiest tape I've tried - thin but cushioned and I really like the soft-touch feel - though that's a matter of taste. Keeps looking good (in black at least) for ever."

"Best looking tape in my mind, ande unlike cork tape in white will wipe clean. I got sick of white tape that goes black. Bit of spray and wipe every couple of weeks and this tape stays like new. I wont buy anything else now. If you are after white tape that can be cleaned to stay white longer - this is for you."

Bar Tape With Attitude

"After comparing several offerings from Deda, Cinelli, etc., I've decided to give Fizik MicroTex a go.. not least because it matches my Arione saddle.
This bar tape is of very good quality, supplied with all the accessories that you need. I also find the bar end caps are nice and light.. simple plastic job that is easy to fit.
The feel and touch is not as soft as cork / other foam based material,, but I can already see this will be more durable / longer lasting and not as mushy in the wet.
The Fizik logo is a particularly nice touch and I personally like the look of it.
Would buy this again!"

"Nice responsive tape, may pair it with a gel tape underneath as it looks nice but not great if you like a bit of softness. Fine with gloves.

The best bar tape ?

"Fitted this to my winter bike - in White ! That's not as mad as it might sound as one of the positives about this tape is that it's very easy to keep clean. The MicroTex isn't like normal cork tape and so can be rubbed clean with a cloth and something like Mucoff.
The tape goes on easily and is reasonably stretchable and once on looks great, giving a really classy look to the bike. Despite appearing a bit slippery, it offers good grip with mitts or gloves, or bare hands, even in the rain.
If you're after a lot of padding or like a thick chunky feel, then this is probably not the tape for you. There's no padding and it leaves the bars feeling a little thin but I've found it comfortable, even over 70-100 mile rides on poor surfaces.
So overall if you can live with the solid feel, I doubt you'll find a better tape."
