SealSkinz Winter Handle Bar Mitten

An exceptionally warm, waterproof, breathable and windproof glove with a ‘lobster claw’ construction. Split fingers provide good dexterity for braking and changing gears whilst minimising heat loss.

Perhaps too good
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"These gloves are extremely effective and I was only able to wear them when the temperature was well below zero. Any warmer than that and they can become uncomfortable (and damp) inside."

Best cold winter gloves
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality
"Very good gloves and seem to be the only pair that keep your fingers toasty in the coldest winter days. I have used these mountain biking and road riding and feel good if you brake with 2 fingers but you get the feeling that they move around alittle when on the handle bar but once you get over this they are amazing."

Almost too warm!
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
"Bought these gloves to handle the early 2012 cold snap in Amsterdam. They were invaluable for both winter training rides on the road bike and commuting to work."

No more numb fingers.
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"These gloves really are exceptionally warm and the lining feels great. Since my hands are quite small, I naturally shift with my middle finger so shifting did take some adjusting to at first, but after a while it was fine and the 'lobster' design seems to be the best of both worlds in terms of warmth and comfort vs. flexibility.
My only niggle with these (and it's probably the case with many thicker gloves) is that sometimes it's difficult to feel things like the shifter through the glove properly and contact generally feels a little 'spongy'.
Other than that, these are the warmest and most comfortable feeling gloves I have ever owned. They got me through the harsh days so far this winter look built to do so for years to come."

Pros:
Cons:

"After suffering severley with the cold on my hands I looked round for the best gloves I could find and these fit the bill admirably ,they do exactly what it says on the tin and are well worth the extra they cost .I would unhesitatingly recommend them to anyone with cold hands ."

Very warm, particularly with an under glove
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
"I get seriously, painful cold hands and feet (which for me ends up ruining a ride) and brought these after a couple of winter rides were cut short. I now use these with some under-gloves (I have the sealskin grip undergloves) and they have worked very well: the only time my hands still got cold was on a 4hr ride at -5 degrees, but even then they were not so cold that I had to stop. The thumbs are still the least protected area. They are not exactly elegant but they definitely do the job and I would buy them again when these ones wear out."

AWESOME
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Bulky
"Amazing, forget lining gloves and hand warmers. These are the absolute business come wind, rain and cold weather."

Great winter gloves
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: no gel padding
"Bought these after previous 'normal' sealskinz winter gloves wore out, found the lobster claw design a little strange at first when riding, not hard to get used to and effective on training rides or the daily commute through heavy traffic. It is a pity they don't have the gel padding of the full fingered gloves.
These gloves really excelled on long rides in the recent cold weather, having warm hands after a couple of hours at -3C is something new to me. They are excellent on the cold wet days too.
The only difficulty I have had is deciding what temperature to wear these at, once a few degrees above zero the amount of sweat inside them can get excessive."

Almost perfect.
Pros: warm hands!
Cons: Expensive
"After trying numerous pairs of gloves, I think I have found a pair that almost ticks all the boxes.
My index fingers and thumbs still get cold, but not as bad as before. So, almost perfect. I found the 'lobster' design a little strange when operating ergo levers
( the Campags were the most awkward). but I'll get used to them over time. Recommended.

Keeps the weather out and the heat in
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Great for cold and/or wet conditions. Best cold weather gloves I've tried. Already used for long days out mountain running in sub-zero conditions. (OK I know they're for cyclists but they work for ultra runners too.)
The lobster claw allows just enough dexterity while keeping fingers together for added warmth.
One drawback is that when you are working hard, your hands sweat. The sweat stays inside, which can cool your hands down again eventually."

Pros:
Cons:

Simply awesome
Pros: Comfortable, warm
Cons: Bulky
"I suffered badly with cold hands for years. Temps of +3 and below would be enough to turn my fingers into icicles. These gloves keep my hands WARM even down as low as -5. They may be too warm for some. The split mitten takes a couple of minutes to get used to but allows full and safe control of the bike."

SealSkinz Winter Handle Bar Mitten
Pros: Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I suffer from cold hands really bad when cycling. I must have tried five different gloves + liners before I came accross these bad boys! I haven't suffered from cold hands since. With regards to waterproofness. I took these with me to Denmark on a cycling trip, I accidently left them out for several hours while locking up my bike. I came out to find that it had been rainingg for a few hours. The gloves were still there (Danish people are so honest), of course, the gloves were soaked on the outside, but I was amazed to find them still dry on the inside! That says it all really."

Strange but good
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Rugged, Good Fit
Cons: Unattractive
"They may look a bit strange but they do the job perfectly. I have tried many types of gloves and liners but never found anything that keep out both wind and rain, these do both."

Warm but loose
"These gloves have kept me warm on a couple of bike rides below zero Celsius, and also cross country skiiing. The 2+2 finger solution feels a bit awkward at first, but works ok. The only minus is that the layers of the fabrics are a bit loose. My hands are sliding a bit inside the glove.
I have not yet tried them in wet conditions.

Weird at first but great once you get used to them
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality
Cons: crabby
"Apart from doing a crazy good dr zoidberg impression when these gloves arrived I thought they would be useless. I'd assumed they'd have 5 fingers when I'd ordered them. Now I've used them I realise what a great idea they are. Fingers stay warm no matter the wind chill and the gloves keep the rain out to. Also they don't get to stuffy."

Very warm mittens
Pros: Comfortable, High Quality, Good Fit
"Great mittens, generous size allows wearing liner gloves on very cold days. I haven't had cold hands on the bike since I got these and I've been out in -8degC. Can't say anything about waterproofness as it hasn't rained here since I got them."

"After having tried all combinations to keep warm hands through the winter these mittens do what they say on the label. Toasty warm and once you get use to 2 finger gear changing they are great."
