Dura-ace pedals
"I bought these pedals for a new Merida Reacto Team. Spending a decent amount on the bike and its components, it seemed easier to justify the expense of these pedals as opposed to Ultegra or others down the ladder. So far so good. They are light and easy to clip in and out of, and are comfortable on the ride. Then again, the same goes for cheaper models that I have used. I hope the real value will come over the long term, and hope they last for a very long time. I suspect they will get smoother to clip with after a few more rides."

Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"Very happy with these pedals. Light and smooth, very stable to ride with. Far more comfy than normal mountain bike spd pedals. Better ground clearance a small bonus."

Shimano Dura Ace PD-7900 carbon pedal
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"So far in my cycling "career" I have used speedplay, campy chorus, Time iclic, and now Dura Ace pedals.
Hopefully this will be the last change I make, else I will never retire.
Speedplay I could never get used to the float (and did not try the Zero pedals),
Campy were very solid and performed well. Possibly a little clunky getting in and out of and not as easy to engage without looking down. A bit heavy and the cleats are not as easy to come by in local bike shops. Also they are difficult to walk in.
The Time iclic pedals seemed very good initially. Light, very easy to get in and out of, the easiest I have encountered so far. Low stack height. But in less than 500 miles I went through two sets of cleats, and then the side support on one of the pedals broke.
After my first ride with the Dura Ace pedals I think I am sold. They are pretty light, with a solid wide platform, and pretty easy to engage. Not as easy as the time but the pedal seems to stay in the right place to engage without looking down. Disengagement takes more force than the time, similar to the Campy. Now if they are also durable, these should be my last pedals hopefully."

Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I was uncertain whether or not to splash out on the more expensive Dura ace as opposed to the ultegra. anyway, i am thrilled i did. These pedals look the part and perform the part. Go for it!"

Very sleek pedal!
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"This road pedal completes my Dura-Ace set perfectly. I find clipping in and out to be much easier than my 105 pedals due to the wider platform. Power transfer feels more efficient too. They are very light and look hot on my Specialized Ruby Pro."

Why Wait...?
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, it's dura ace
"Why did i wait so long to change? Was riding speed plays and these knocked them out of the ring in a few areas!
First the platform area is so wide and stable you forget that they are there, click in and forget, i mean really click ride and forget all about floating angles, unclipping and cornering... you just ride.
Second, because they are light they spin so well and never once in 2000km's have i had to think about service, or being gentle on them... you just ride.
And the cleats are so stable to walk on in the cafe or at a race meet that once again you just go about business. Never once have i had to being on tip toes.
So why wait, because i wish i hadn't...

just the best there is
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit, discrete
Cons: Expensive
"no its not the lightest, it's not bling and there is nothing to suggest it is Shimano's top of the line pedal. You can try all the others and get lighter, more exotic pedals, but those of us who want ONE pedal for a long time come back to Dura-ace. It is fractionally heavier but with that you get endless dependability, robustness and the knowledge it will last you until you get another bike. The yellow cleats are great with 6 degree motion to help those aging knees of mine. The platform is fantastic to clip in and out of. You don't notice the quality of these pedals until you try some other brand and wonder why you ever bothered. JUST THE BEST!"

Awesome Pedals
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
"I have been using the 7800 series pedals for quite a while now and the new 7900 ones feel smoother in the action, more solid underfoot and just a "beautiful" thing."

Awesome pedals
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I am impressed by these pedals. Before them I used the Durace PD-7810 pedals. Transferring to the new ones, I still found the platform stiffer, significantly lighter but still of the same high quality. I'm really happy with them. It would be great if they were cheaper. However, perhaps then they wouldn't be such objects of desire!"

great pedals
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
"i've been using dura-ace pedals for years, and have just built up a new bike, so took the opportunity to get the carbon fibre version of the spd-sl pedal. they might not be the lightest top- end pedal, but i've never had any problems before, so preferred to stay with the system. so far the new pedals have been great - they seem even easier to get into than my pd-7750's so i'm happy!"

Superb
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"The wide and low profile design ensures maximum power transfer. These are very light, and the weight reduction here counts for more than on the bike frame, as your legs have to turn the weight of the pedals constantly. Match these with some lightweight carbon soled shoes and get ready to fly!"

Surefooted
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I have replaced a pair of Ulltegra pedals. I could not believe the difference in pedals. These are great for clicking in on the move, they are weighted correctly - they must be because you never miss when clipping back in at after stopping at lights etc. They also make you feel part of the bike as they feel secure when clipped in but not so much so that you cant get out easily, An excellent buy!"

These are great pedals
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I purchased these pedals to replace an older set of Ultegra pedals and I'm so happy with the upgrade. The PD7900's feel very smooth and stable under foot and they are so light."

very good upgrade
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Wanted a reasonably lightweight pedal with a good platform these fit the bill. There are cheaper, lighter pedals out there, but these are a shimano quality."

Excellent pedals
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Good Fit
"I have previously purchased two pairs of DA pedals, the new DA pedals are precisely what one would expect from Shimano's top-of-the-line range; beautifully made, attractive and (most importantly) work flawlessly. Not the lightest on the market, but well worth the investment."

Superb Shimano
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"Shimano is a true & trusted brand, the Dura-Ace PD7900 SPD SL Carbon pedals are further proof of that, great engineering, ease of installation & one of the most positive securing mechanisims.
These are light (there are lighter pedals on the market, but the footprint is significant compared to others & you get Shimano quality - its personal choice), & give real feedback entering the pedal, even on the lower tension settings, the difference from 105's & Ultegra is noticable even at my level. Highly recomended if you prefer the SPD SL cleats.
