Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Lightweight
"This is the first devise of its kind I've owned and I'm thrilled. Seems I've been running longer and faster than I realised. Love being able to plug this in when I get home and log the starts. Really motivating. Band very comfortable to wear."

Good(ish)
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: accuracy, website
"I bought the Sportband because for the price I thought I couldn't go wrong ..and I was right. It is a useful tool for a new runner or one where spot on accuracy isn't the most important thing.
By that I mean the only thing the Sportband knows for sure is how many strides you took and the time for any given run. You can leave it at the default stride value which I guess is based on lengthy research, or you can calibrate it to your stride.
When I ran a measured 5k the Sportband read 4.5k but I am tall so I guess have a longer stride and it was at pace rather than a jog. I calibrated on that run but even on subsequent runs the Sportband has never read 5k but I put this down to faster times where I guess I have made less strides. I have also run a hilly route with a friend and the steepest part I ran with faster shorter strides than normal. This made the Sportband think that kilometre was my fastest but clearly it wasn't as the strides were short.
So, you have to accept how the Sportband works and how this affects your distance and pace values but it is still useful. You just have to accept it is accurate(ish).
My only gripes really are the function buttons and the website. You have to hold the face button for 3 seconds and then walk a few seconds to prime the Sportband then when you start your run it is a single press of the same button. I've had more than one run where I've felt a positive click of the button but the timing hasn't started. To end a run you have to hold the button for 3 seconds. After over a month I still mess this up but at least it you single press you end up with a split time.
The other gripe is the website you upload the runs to. I've had better detail from free applications on my phone and not been plagued with the commercial side trying to get me to buy Nike stuff.
I'll repeat though for the money you can't go wrong. I need better accuracy now for some runs but it still has a use."

Great motivator
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: last one did not last
"This was bought to replace my original sportband which lasted less than a year (it would not register when inserted into computer). I like this device - it really helps to keep me motivated and is a reasonable guide to tracking my run distance. Once it is calibrated properly, the previous one was very accurate - particularly on outside runs. I don't wear Nike shoes and wear the sensor in a cover on the laces of my shoe. That works fine. Overall, this works for me as I don't want or need a more complex device. I hope this one lasts longer...."

Great purchase
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: a night light would be great too.
"This is a great tool to have when you are training for a half marathon. Easy to use, comfortable to wear, it tells you how fast you are running so helps with your planning as to how fast you want to go when. Works well in the rain too."

Nike+ Sportband 2
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Brilliant buy. This isn't a GPS device but I've been running with it for a couple of weeks now and it is accurate to better than 95% when calculating the distance of my runs. Linking it up to the Nike+ website allows you to set youself goals and track your performance which has definitely motivated me to get out and fight through the pain more often!"

Great results round the Rock
Pros: Great Value, Lightweight
"Easy to set up, although instructions for calibration could be more detailed, I tried a 1km run and a 7km hill run as calibration before checking the Nike site and finding these did not fit the criteria. Once this was sorted, have completed a number of runs, including twice around the Rock of Gibraltar, 2 tunnels per lap, each lap being 10km+ and the chip/band picked up continuously. Pace display while running is really useful, has shown me that i am slower downhill than on level ground, overall very useful and good value if Nike trainers suit you,"

great motivation!
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Unattractive, Limited Color Choices, no backlight for running after dark
"Pity about the look but it seems to judge distance very well (to about a 1m on a 4km run), also you don't need nike shoes for this as you can buy a pouch for it or I just taped it into my laces. over all a very good motivator!"

Problems...
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: sensor stopped working after 2 weeks
"I loved the Nike+ Sportsband BUT after 2 weeks of using it, the sensor (i.e. the chip in my trainer), was flat/dead/unresponsive?
I am very upset about this and I think I need to purchase another sensor as I can't be bothered with the returns process and packaging etc...I think they cost $15-$20."

I was under the impression this was charged via USB. Does that solve the problem, or have I misunderstood how this device works? If I have I would really appreciate your reply before I purchase this.
