Awesome
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit, very realistic cycling experience, gives a really good workout
Cons: Expensive
"I've been using one of these along with the optional computer / head unit for a while.
Having now had the chance to use it for this period my conclusion is that this unit absolutely rocks.
Having previously used resistance rollers and other turbo trainers I've found that the Lemond trainer has the following advantages:
1. No faffing around changing the rear tyre / wheel to one that will last as is the case on a normal turbo where tyres are worn down very quickly.
2. Gives a very good, very smooth workout - much closer to the "real feel" of cycling.
3. It is noisy, but actually not massively more so compared to inferior units.
4. If you follow the instructions, the bike is held in place very securely - you're only likely to cause frame damage if you don't clamp it properly, and that's a possibility with all turbo trainers.
5. The head unit is also pretty good, if expensive."

Pain for Gain
"The Good:
Well made
Solid
Real bike feel when peddling
The Bad
Expensive.
Very very very noisy to use - I've been banned from using it when wife/kids in bed upstairs as it wakes them up!
When not peddling - runs on but not like a bike which suprised me, but means the effort is unrelenting - but that's what u bought it for??
Even on a totally flat wooden floor, seems to unbalance itself after use.
I would think very very long and hard b4 putting an expensive carbon frame in it, u have to clamp it on so tight it must damage the frame over time? Remember your full weight is been held by the bit of frame on the skewer and no matter how level it all is high cadence peddling/up out of the saddle makes it rock slightly which must stress that bit of frame. There are people on the net who say they've snapped carbon frames in it!!!
It only really makes sense if u get the £200 gizmo for power output/hr/etc, which is obviously more cost

Best road feel
"Just to make it absolutely clear, the raison d'etre of this machine is to replicate road feel as closely as possible.
On that score,Lemond have hit a bullseye.
To do that you need to design a high inertia-low resistance unit.
Used a KK for a few years before this, which in comparison is high resistance + HI.smooth and quiet, sure. But these types of trainers seem to me to feel like riding through thick porridge or on melting tarmac.
Some forumites don't seem to get the point of the Revolution.
How about neuromuscular specificity...
Sure, you can stationary train on whatever takes your fancy/budget and work to your hearts content in your CP/HR zones of choice. But that doesn't mean the hours of pain you endure are going to be as close to optimal as they might be.
Anecdotally, previously I suffered with discomfort in the popliteal region [back of knee] as a result of my high resistance turbo.
This has totally subsided after using the more realistically loaded Revolution.
Psychologically,I am much more motivated to use the trainer than I ever was before. Not because it is a new bit of kit [I'm now past the honeymoon period] but because it feels so much more like riding a bike.
The downsides, other than cost,is that it isn't quiet. However,I train upstairs on a wooden floor in an old house. What seems loud to me in situ during sustained efforts @ 300-350 watts doesn't seem to be an issue for Her Indoors immediately below. It's more of a white noise than shake the foundations low level vibration thang.
Also,it's a bit of a faff setting up if you have horizontal dropouts. There is a knack [though not as easy as moving the rear mech over to create clearance,if you are used to the foibles of inserting a wheel with HDs.
Made easier if you first remove the skewer, however.
It's bulkier than other foldable units, which may be an issue if used for pre-event warmups. You could remove the base [3 bolts] to make it more manageable. But for me it's fine,as is.
Am I glad I bought one? Absolutely.
Would I be gutted if I had to go back to my old trainer? Yes"

Buy one now
Pros: High Quality
"Only had the Revolution a couple of days, but knew as soon as I saw the advert it would change the way I could train for the 2011 Tri season.
Easy to use straight from the box just 5 min to put it together, great feel (very close to being on the road) when training if just a little loud, bring on the snow and rain I won't be missing any training sessions from now on.
