Excellent Eyewear
Pros: Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, Adjustable, Good Fit
"These are my first 'serious' cycling glasses and I am extrmely impressed. They are light, comfortable and fit very well - something i value with a larger (wider) than usual head! i find the style of them to be very appealing and pleasantly understated cmopared with some of the more 'out there' Oakleys of the world.
I have only bought them with the red lens thus far but have tried them in a variety of conditions; mainly autumnal, wintery and slightly darker, and found them to excel.
I've only had them a few weeks so cannot report any 'cons' but if i had a very minor gripe it would be that the nose piece has a very slight tendancy to slip every now and then, however i sweat a fair bit and cant imagine any other glasses behaving differently under the circumstances.
I recommend these very highly and will be investing in a darker lens when spring comes around.
Excellent!

"Great glasses. Clear as day - for the night. You don't notice them getting darker to look through when sunny but when you take them off they are quite dark, but not really enough for a very bright summer day. I will be buying a darker lens for summer and racing. Perfect for Melbourne winter mornings. Fit well and feel super light.
Expensive but well worth it, I've had Rudys for 10 years and wouldn't choose any other brand despite the cost because of the quality.

i agree, would be better if they went slightly darker, as it can be bright but with low uv so they wont darken enough. however for low light (uk) and night riding theyre good, completely clear . maybe the photochromic dye doesnt have the range to go from clear to really dark.

Superb Purchase Perfect for the UK's conditions
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"Great glasses work very well with reactive lenses.
You can wear them all day and all night. Nice large lenses keeps mud out of eyes. They adjust to suit the conditions you are riding in reasonably quickly.
Very comfortable. Can even forget they are on
and even off as i found I lost my first pair thought they were on but I had actually taken them off. opps!!
Highly recommended"

works exactly as expected
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Attractive, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
"Heading into winter over here in oz and I was struggling to find the right combination of glasses/lenses to wear.
It would be pitch black when I left home, but blazing sunshine on the ride back in.
These rudy project glasses with photochromatic lenses fit the bill perfectly so far.
My personal thoughts when assessing new products is the "if i don't have to think about it" motto.
That is, if it works, and works well, you don't notice any problems and this is very true of the Genetyk sunglasses.
The lenses will darken when exposed to sunlight - but do not expect it to darken in a few seconds - it is a gradual process which works well enough for me.
And vice versa, when leaving the outdoors and entering my darkened apartment building the lenses will gradually let more light "in" as the lenses lighten up. Not immediate, but works well enough.
As for fit and comfort, no issues at all here.
Both the nose piece and the end of the arms are rubber and adjustable.
Once you bend the rubber bits into the right position they stay there - no slipping.
I have a fairly big head (large size helmet) and asian bridge nose and I didn't have any problems with the fit.

developing a lens peel problem
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive, Unattractive, Wears Out Easily, Limited Color Choices, lens peel
"ive had the photochromic genetyk's for a year and they have performed very well and the adjustable frame really makes them totally antislip when running and cycling. im also impress that the lens despite alot of use has remained totally scratch free. on the downside the clear lenses and black frame do look like lab safety glasses when theyre not dark.
i have used them everyday but they have started to develop lens peel on the inside near the eyebrow where the sweat and condensation tends to collect. ive read this happens alot in oakleys due to the acidity of the sweat and this peels off the inner plastic of the lens.
...something to consider if your thinking ablut getting these. they come with a 2 year warentee but theres no-one in the uk to send them back to and i doubt if theyll be covered for this fault.

Great glasses
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Comfortable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I am in Australia and we pay through the nose for Rudy Project gear. I have had several pairs of RPs over the years and as far as sports sunnies go these are the best in the world. (Note that my casual sunnies are Oakleys).
The best lenses I have seen are the Clear Photochomic where you can wear them in the dark and they are clear and by the end of a ride at 11am they are dark. Scratchproof and unbreakable - just what you need in sports glasses.
I have the Clears and the Racing Red Photochromics and use them depending on the event.
I love my Genetyk RPs and they are gradually becoming my casual sunnies too :-)"
