Great tasty gels
Pros: Great Value, High Quality, good taste
"I like thicker gels (can't stand the slimy ones) so these are perfect for me - I just make sure I wash them down with some water. I've tried vanilla, chocolate and tri-berry (all with caffeine) and thought they tasted great - sweet but not sickly sweet. Easy on the stomach too.
Small and easy to carry, ok to open while running, and they're they're thick enough to not end up all over your hands or face like some runny ones do.

Great energy gel for chococholics
Pros: Great Value, Comfortable, High Quality
"One of the best energy gels I have used. Tastes like real chocolate and gives the kick that is needed. My first reaction was a bit of a confusion regarding the consistency, it's pretty thick, but it turned out quite fine, was enough with the usual amount of water to wash it down.
Definitely the gel I will continue to use since this is a legal excuse for having more chocolate in my life ;)

Good product
"I've tried a number of gels from other makers and I've found all of them to have a sickly flavour. I prefer the simplest flavours, therefore my first option in GU Gels is 'Just Plain'. My second choice is 'Vanilla', which is what I bought this time. After that I go for 'Espresso Love'. I understand that some other brands may be better electrolytically, but I find their taste so bad that I don't think they're worth it - and I know that GU Gel works well enough when I'm training or competing."

Best on the market for both running and cycling
Pros: High Quality
"Had some of these a few years ago while training for a marathon, they were not available in the UK but I got some from the US. The chocolate is a great flavour and easily palatable and enjoyable. Have to stop myself eating them when not out running or on the bike."

Oooh Chocolate
Pros: High Quality, tasty, easy to open, provided an energy boost
Cons: i can't stop eating them
"Over the years I have tried quite a few gels and have not really liked any of them…. UNITIL NOW. I have gone through almost a box of the chocolate flavoured GU’s and I must say they do not disappoint.
They are:
1) Easy to open on the move
2) Taste just like chocolate
3) Give you a boost when you’re feeling tired (I’m sure this is a tad more complicated) but really gave me an initial surge and kept me going for quite a while.
4) Didn’t make me feel sick
I would recommend these as a great source of energy while on the move.

Best Gel
Pros: High Quality
"These gels are easy to use when biking or running. Opening them is easy and because they are quite thick you don't end up wasting half the gel due to spillage. They also taste great, I like mint choc , blackberry and mandarin."

Training & Racing fuel
"I have use these for +2hr long rides and long runs over the last 4 to 5 years. I generally take them ever hour or every 45 mins during races. Easy to carry and taste of the plain, lime or vanilla are my favourites. Ensure you take water when you use these for races or training. Competed in 4 ultras (45km off road races), 4 marathons, 6 half marathons and 2 x 6hr orienteering events using this product. Test is training prior to using in competition."

Not bad
Pros: good taste, easy to digest, good quality
Cons: Expensive
"I bought a box of the 2x caffeine jet berry ones. Taste is nice, consistency a bit thick for my liking. I have a slight preference for the Powerbar caffeineated blackcurrent gels, which also have more elctrolytes inside and a more runny consistency -- making them easier to digest and (perhaps) better for keeping cramps away in the last 10k of the marathon.
Still taste-wise the Gu ones are good though, and still streets ahead of other makes like SIS etc and pretty much any gel sold in a platic tube (which tend to bee too thick and require a lot of water to get down). Will be using them for long training runs and climbing trips with no worries. Also tempted to try the espresso and chocolates ones from Gu as apparently the taste is great.
The Gu ones are easy to open too. Had no digestion problem with them either."

I like it very much
Pros: High Quality, taste
Cons: Expensive, thick
"I bought the vanilla and personally I like the taste and I don't get any acid reaction from taking a number of these over a long ride. It is thicker than some gels and although this means it takes a little longer to get down, it seems less messy than others. My girlfriend also uses them but finds them too sweet and makes her feel a bit sick when trying to get down. Then again, she has the same reaction to all gels. I tend to judge gels mostly on the quality of the carbs and ratio of complex to simple carbs. Only 5gs of the 25g of carbs are sugars and I do find that there is sustained energy release over time rather than a spike and slump."

Smooth taste
Pros: High Quality, good taste
"They taste better than most gels, but after4 or 5 they can get a bit too sweet.
Recommended for the kick you get, especially from the 2X caffeine options which also taste good good good.
