X-Fusion Hilo Suspension Remote Seat Post
Pros: High Quality, Adjustable, Good Fit
"I originally purchased this post as it was the only available 27.2mm hydraulic post. It seems to have turned out to be a very good compromise. I fitted it first of all with the remote lever, but I was not too keen on the way that it worked, so I changed it back to the post mounted lever wich works beautifully.
My only other recommendation would be to cable tie a length of inner tube over the post to keep the muck out which in theory will stop the post jamming or playing up.
Finally, check the pressure of your post as it should be around 25psi and mine arrived at just 10 psi.

Cons: Expensive
"Since first discovering the gravity dropper post several years ago, I've been a convert to these on the fly adjustable seat posts as they are great idea for off road riding.
As my frame has a seat tube diameter of 27.2mm (which I don't want to change frames just to get a larger diameter, and more choice) The posts I can pick from are quite limited. This one been one of them; It's an improvement on the gravity dropper mainly for me as it has some lay-back, but also because you can lock it out at any position in its range, and it doesn't look so ugly, which is nice.
However I'd done a little research about these posts and it appears for some people the post doesn't fully extend to the top of it's stroke. As the post has only been on the bike a few weeks I've currently got this problem, which I'm hoping is due to set up, either cable tension, spring air pressure, or the manufacturer advises not to over tighten the seat post clamp bolt (which I don't think I've done), or maybe the seals just need bedding in the make the action smoother, but apart from this current issue I'm happy with my purchase, I wouldn't say the price is particularly competitive at almost 200 quid for a seat post which is pretty steep especially as they are still a little experimental, and care must be taken not to damage the remote lever when putting the bike upside down to fit or remove the wheels. I feel us end users of this technology are still partially paying for these companies development costs. Although considering the prices of some others on the market, this is currently a good deal.
Even with all this limitations for general trail riding I wouldn't go back to a none adjustable seat post.

Sweet post!
Pros: Attractive, Adjustable, Good Fit
Cons: Limited Color Choices
"I read the reviews and it does do what everyone says... slows right down for the last half inch to an inch of re-extension. This would be a problem but I only use the lever assembly anyway so that I can swap it between my bikes. It feels a bit sketchy taking one hand off the bars to use it but you just have to slow down a bit.... Still WAAAAY better than stopping getting off and raising/lowering by hand.
Awesome product!"
