bright
Pros: Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: broad wind catching face
"Just got my MaXx D Mk4. One night ride with it so far. Very bright. Previously I rode with a Cyglo Trion 600. The MaXx is of course much brighter but not sure twice as bright. Handlebar mount is stout (I had some doubts, my night ride is across some rough roads, I was impressed). Have not been able test duration as the days are getting long in Texas."

Awesome light for riding fast at night
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"Excellent design, very simplistic, great finish, good power to weight ratio. Bracket design is excellent and the spacer will allow various size bar diameter. Only used this light once but I've borrowed one from my local shop before. If you're not convinced I would ask your LBS for a test light if they stock them.
Smart port is another great feature. I will be purchasing a triple cell battery for long night epics.

Fantastic light and first class customer support
Pros: High Quality, fantastic customer support
"I can add nothing more to the other reviews regarding the quality of the light - it really is excellent.
However one morning, whilst in a rush, I didn't attach the light to the bracket properly (my fault) and upon hitting the frst bump on a 30mph descent the light fell off the bike and carried on down the road for another 100meters at 30mph. I wasn't surprised when it didn't work afterwards.
Fearing the worst, I returned the light to Exposure explaining what had happened and expecting a hefty repair bill. I was very pleasantly surprised when I received the light back a week later in perfect working order without any charge whatsoever (not even return postage).
Many companies could learn a great about customer service from Exposure. I would not hesitate to purchase another Exposure product in the future."

Light up the night
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Wanted a light for riding on a night when i have the time, this thing is great! top quality, i bought this as it has no wires going to a battery just the one unit that fits into the bracket with a click, then you just pull the toggle and it releases. High beam, well crikey it lights up everywhere! this thing kicks out some light, you will be able to ride as if your in day light, i tend to use the high when i am descending then the medium everywhere else off road and leave the low setting for the bit of road work, have used the flash setting in daylight just for safety
The colour codes are just fine and you get used to them. switching between the light modes could be made easier, a bigger button perhaps?
over all i am well pleased with the light, had to think about it as it is still expensive for a light! but it is quality and you won't be disappointed, i expect it to last a long time, only time will tell

Very bright: asset and liability!
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"This is by far the brightest light I have ever owned, and I can cycle flat out along totally unlit forest roads. However, on full power the beam is so bright and wide that it dazzles anyone coming in the opposite direction - car, cyclist or pedestrian. This means I have to keep dipping it to medium whenever I see something coming. Medium is still pretty bright though.
The one-button control is slightly too minimalist, and doesn't give much feedback even without gloves. The unit is very well made, as is the handlebar mount, so hopefully all will stay in working order for years.

Great main light for the bush (MTB'ing)
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
"Really good light for off road/bush tracks. Most of the time I have it on mid-power, but on cloudy or moonless nights, full power is awesome. I’ve matched it with a Diablo helmet light. Great combo. Road riding, you don’t need the MaxxD, the Strada is more than up to the task and is lighter."

Brilliant!
Pros: Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight, Versatile
Cons: Expensive
"Purchased this light for evening rides along unlit 'B' roads around Kent.
Brilliant - it has the power, the battery is more than adequate for my needs, and it is very light.
It is so powerful, even when pointing towards the gutter, approaching cars slow to a standstill to let me come through on the narrow B roads I ride on!
Nicely engineered and would definately buy again if needed."

best thing I have brought yet!
Pros: High Quality
"I've spent alot of money on bike accessories, clothing etc over the last year and this has to be the best thing I have bought.
I was struggling against car headlights, rain, and unlit roads ... often almost heading into verge or kerbs.
But this light is superb, I only use on the lowest setting and it has solved all the issues I had and I feel so much safer.
I also use the Diablo on my helmet, which is great using in flash mode and looking at the drivers about to pull out on you!"

"Ive been night riding for 20 years and these are the best lights ive used so far. Bright enough for drivers to complain, and a great all in one solution without the need for cables etc. The clamp is simple and effective and so far has kept the lights firmly in place even on terrain with extreme chatter.
Very pleased with them."

I need to see
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Adjustable
Cons: Expensive
"Good light for road cycling and OK for off road. Gives a good spread of light and does not seem to upset oncoming car drivers when on dimmest setting.
Great that it is self contained.

Light Relief
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
Cons: Expensive
"Purchased the excellent MaXx-D Mk4 early last month and have not been disappointed. It's very bright! I love the self-contained no nonsense unit with combined battery. It's not cheap but as I do a fair amount of off road night riding I fet it was justified. This combined with the helmet mounted Joystick which I got a few years back is a great combo."

Expensive, but I love this light!
Pros: Durable, Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Versatile, Good Fit
Cons: Expensive
"I've now clocked up over 500 miles at night, mainly on the unlit lanes of Norfolk.
Since nearly all my cycling is on the road, I agonised over whether to buy the road orientated Exposure Strada or the off-road MaXx-D, but hey I'm a bloke and I couldn't resist the bigger power output.
Whilst not intended for road use, with careful aiming of the beam below the horizontal and slightly into the verge, coupled with the low power mode when there’s traffic in front, I don’t believe I have caused any problems to other road users (no ones ever flashed me).
The resultant beam pattern provides a hotspot that illuminates my side of the carriage way and extends from about 5m in front of the bike out to more than 50m.
There is enough light-spill outside the hotspot to illuminate the sides of the road and road signs in the distance.
• On full power the illumination is pure white.
• For me, the intermediate setting is superfluous. I only visit it when switching between high and low beam.
• In low power mode, the light output is similar too the brightness of overtaking cars on dip beam (but without the beam spread). This mode is ideal for cycling in lit areas.
• The strobe mode is very powerful and ideal for poor daylight visibility or inducing seizures at night.
• Re-charge times haven’t been an issue for me as I usually only use the light for around 1 ¼ hours at a time.
Issues –
• The charger initially gives off that hot circuit board smell, although the charger itself is only warm to the touch. This has improved, but is still perceptible for the first few minutes of charging.
• The rubber charge port cover only pushes over the connector and has come adrift a couple of times. It would be quite easy to loose.
Whilst expensive, the brightness of this light has made me to feel far safer cycling at night than I ever have during the day. Vehicles seem to give far greater clearance when overtaking and I seem to get far more consideration at junctions and on single track roads (other motorists possibly mistake the single bright lamp for a motorcycle).
It’s a darn good torch as well."

Great light off road
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"My first venture into very expensive bike lights didn't start well - the pin in the handlebar clamp hinge snapped when I first tried to install it. But it was replaced without a quibble by Exposure, and the replacement has been rock solid secure.
The beam is very focused, so riding off road you follow a bright white tunnel. This is great at speed in a straight line, but in twisty singletrack a bit more spread might be nice. Or a helmet mounted light as well....
In traffic, I only use it on the lowest setting, and have the light angled lower don to avoid blinding other road users.
The little switch doesn't feel that instinctive - after a month I've not successfully turned it off at the first attempt whilst riding, though this might be due to thick winter gloves as much as the switch.
But I'm quibbling - it's the lightest, brightest light I've ever owned, and the cable free system is genius. It's just not quite perfect."

The best light I've ever had.
Pros: Durable, Rugged, High Quality
"No lamp, except the big-brother Six Pack, beats this for brightness, reliability and simplicity.
The beam pattern is spot on, not too wide or narrow, to let you see the perfect line. The all-in-one design means an end to fiddling around with battery packs - just ride, unclip from the quick-release bracket, and charge. That's it.
The internal batteries are more than adequate for a good ride out at night, no need for battery anxiety.
