Exposure Toro Mk3 Front Light

The Toro is the leaner brother of the MaXx-D; shaving 59g off the weight and still producing nearly 1000 lumen punch. The beam pattern of the Toro and the Diablo are identical making them perfect partners.

see the light!
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"I bought this light so I could carry on riding both to and from work ride during the Australian winter.
I nearly bought a different light as I didn't think it would be necessary to have 975 lumens. I wouldn't like to have anything less in terms of max available lumens if I was riding fast in a totally unlit environment. I'm very happy with this light even though I spent more than I planned too.
My commute home from work generally takes me around 1.5 -2hrs. A combination of cycle paths mixed in with a few roads. The light has four settings. High/Med/Low & a flashing setting with a constant light in the background. I've been using the flashing setting with a constant background while travelling on the road which I thought best as it seems to attract drivers attention.
When I exit the road section I jump on a cycle path and switch to full power - I then ride the entire section of cycle path for around 25k's on full power. The light works extremely well for me and I can see absolutely everything including the odd Koala up a tree in the distance. I've had no problems with picking out potholes and the build quality of the light appears excellent.
My light came with two chargers and a posh case. I keep the fixed wall charger at home and the USB charger at work, this works really well for me.
I'm a regular cyclist but I've never had a good cycle light before this one. I've always had lights on my bikes but they've mainy been for legal reasons and not to actually be able to see where I'm going. So this is the best light I've ever had. I didn't want messy wires hanging around my bike too and that is one of the main reasons I bought this light.

Not too bulky/heavy, middle size in range
"has a 3 hour max power setting - good for the mid week ride.
nice mid range size - not too bulky.
considered Max D but best combo was Toro on bike for club night rides and add Diablo on helmet for XCM races.
Max D and six pack were too bulky/heavy but good for someone who only wants one light.

Pretty Good Flashlight for $356.
Pros: Attractive, Rugged, High Quality, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"If I forget that between the main unit and two extra brackets, it cost me $400, I think it's pretty good. Bright and well formed beam. The brightness step below full power should be brighter but I find it sufficient for local, unlighted, low traffic streets. At full power it is more than enough for most conditions I will ever see. It is sturdy and is well and stably secured to the handlebar. If it lasts eight years I will consider it worth the expense, maybe even if only six years. Small enough to toss in your pocket."

Simply beaming!
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Versatile
Cons: just a little over priced.
"Buying this light and combining it with an Exposure Joystick Mk6 has created the biggest smile on my face. Night riding off road, such good fun and these lights are just pure class. Build quality just fab. Battery life simply staggering especially when you take the opportunity to drop the power a notch on the slow climbs. Love the cable free design. Don't hold back and splash the cash........ you will not regret this purchase.
Only one thought Exposure...... loose the flash case and drop the retail price!

High Quality, Easy to Fit, Fantastic Illumination
Pros: Durable, High Quality, Lightweight
"Having recently started to commute to the office mainly along unlit country roads I needed a high quality rechargeable light with plenty of illumination. Whilst not the cheapest of options the Exposure Toro Mk3 is well worth the investment as it provides excellent light for the darkest of roads and coupled with an Exposure rear red eye it makes you highly visible to even the most inconsiderate of other road users."

Fantastic light
Pros: Great Value, Attractive, High Quality, Lightweight
"Awsome bike light. Super bright and small enough for my road bike. The high medium and low settings are great and the flashing function is second to none.
With a lasting time of 3 hours on high this light will suit any rider wanting the brightness it delivers.
Highly recommend this light."

Best light I have used
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"This light is sensational. It is of excellent quality and the brightness of the light is unbelievable. I feel as if I have a headlight on my bike. The flash setting is great for use during the day.
You will not be disappointed if you buy this light.

awesome!
Pros: High Quality, Rugged, Good Fit
"After the onset of the dark nights I started to get a form of mountain bikers seasonally affected disorder! I spent a couple of weeks justifying to myself the prospect of spending this kind of money on a bike light then went for it! have to say it's the best thing I've ever bought. I've had three or four night rides with my illuminated mates and it sure beats watching the tv of an evening. I bought the toro because it was the light my mate had and find it more than adequate for off road trails.Just leave the clip on your handlebars for the winter and the light is easy to take on and off. I'll maybe add the joystick light on a helmet at some point but that would be a lixury rather than a necessity."

Best light I've ever had
Pros: Attractive, Rugged, Adjustable
"I've been road riding at night for years now, particularly in the Fall as the days grow short and my work hours don't. I've had a halogen, an HID, and a couple of LED lights prior to this one, and only the HID had a cast of this one's depth and whiteness. But the battery life is the thing that really sets this one apart. I've gotten 12 hours out of the medium setting, even with the last ride coming close to 3 weeks after that first charge. I figured it was too low to leave for another ride again, but after 7 hours of use spread over a number of rides it ran for 5 hours after I got home. It does not appear to bleed charge sitting after a charge like my Niterider LED does. And the green/yellow/red battery indicator is a great security feature to show you where you stand wrt juice remaining.
The medium setting is enough to cruise along even down a smoothly paved hill at 50 kph. and the high is enough to descend over 65 kph, or a bit slower even on twistier less reliably paved roads. The mount is very secure as well, and the fabrication of it is really solid, clean, and precise.
The only criticism I can think of is that the H/M/L settings seem to be about 975/400/200 lumens, whereas I would have chosen 975/500/250 and sacrificed a bit of battery life on the lower settings. Cruising along on high is rarely necessary, so the medium setting could be a bit higher. Still the best light I've ever owned, by a wide margin, especially at it's price."

Bright Lights 1
Pros: Rugged, Lightweight, bright
"I have little experience of riding mountain bikes and little of riding in the dark but this light (together with a Joystick on the helmet) provides enough illumination to make me comfortable on evening trails now that winter is coming. Easy to mount, easy to use, easy to charge- no problems."

Amazingly bright, makes me feel safer on commute
Pros: Durable, Attractive, High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"Brightness is, as advertised, amazing. I'm riding with this on the medium setting most of the time. Switching to full power on a road without streetlights is like having a full-on headlight!
I use it on my commute in London, and have already noticed several times when cars would have pulled out on me but have been dissuaded by the brightness of the light. In this respect, it feels a lot safer on a winter night than my previous low wattage flashing LED light. Plus when I get to the odd darker street, I can see every yawning pothole.
Also bought the rear RedEye light, which is great. Again, considerably brighter than previous LED. Definitely the thing for dark winter evenings and keeping the cars at bay.
Only con is the price, but in this case you're getting what you pay for: a really nicely put-together rechargeable light that for me will enhance my safety over the winter."

You get what you pay for...improved safety !
Pros: High Quality, Rugged
Cons: Expensive
"Great light. Can safely see you way on very dark country lanes ..including pot holes & road debree...on both most & 2nd most powerful modes.
Whilst in town have used both 2nd most powerful & flashing mode ..& drivers actually take notice !!
Expensive but good quality & easy to operate ..even with gloves ,through all modes.
Simple to attach , unclip & recharge. Ample run time on all modes ..times much as indicated by manufacturer.
For lighting power, neither too bulky or heavy.
Highly recommend.

Toro Mk3
Pros: Attractive, High Quality, Rugged, Adjustable, Lightweight
Cons: Expensive
"After years of using the 2 spot Halogen smart light, this has come as a breath of fresh air.....It is very strong , lightweight and has an amazing output, as good as any motorcycle headlight. A few friends and I were out recently when we noticed headlights coming across a field at speed, a landrover pulled up and the farmer apologised to us, but he saw the lights and though we were poachers in a vehicle. I can safely say there is no better light on the market at present....there are equally as good lights but they come with a bulky battery pack."
