cardboard box inside?
The bag looks interesting but I'm a bit worried it might not offer sufficient protection for a carbon bike for airport handling. That's why it's occurred to me I could put the bike into a cardboard box and then into the bag. Is it feasible in terms of size? Also, would you say it's necessary to go to that level or is it just me being paranoid?

I have a Specialized Roubaix Pro carbon frame, size 62cm and it fits without a problem. I have bubble wrap bags which fit in the wheel pockets and the wheels are then placed inside in wheel bags. They are a second line of defence. Never had any damage, despite watching it being dropped off a luggage trolley in Inverness airport by a luggage handler who couldn't be bothered to lift it! Used for over 10 flights. I made a polystyrene support for the bottom bracket and duck -taped it in place on the base of the bag .
