Value for money dual sided SPD pedal, a favorite XC mountain bike pedal. Super-compact and lightweight design for a multitude of cycling uses. Sealed cartridge bearing spindle keeps out water and mud for a smooth action, and makes for a durable pedal.

"I first tried these pedals on my mountain bike and was very pleased. So now I've bought a pair for my touring bike. Ideal: solid click in and click out, neat, and double sided. Twinned with a comfortable pair of shoes for long-distance touring, these pedals are great."
Pros: Durable, Great Value, Lightweight, Versatile

When buying SPD pedals do I also need to buy the cleats as well which are seperate or do I just need the pedal and then buy the shoe that fits thats?

These pedals come with the cleats - which are very easy to fit to cycling shoes whether MTB, touring or road.

Are Shimano PD-M520 pedals ok for a road bike?

I'm completely new to the world of cycling and have bought myself a second hand bike which comes with Shimano PD-M520 pedals. Appears that these are for a mountain bike - am i ok with these on my road bike? And will the cleats fit road shoes ok - when I'm brave enough to give them a go?
Many thanks
Yes - I've now happily used them on my touring bike. Can't see why they are advertised as MTB pedals; really they are multi-purpose.
